  1. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 26, 2009 -> 09:07 AM) I'm drunk. I love alcohol. I'm drunk. I love alcohol.
  2. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Dec 26, 2009 -> 01:26 AM) The thing that saved VDN is that none of the players want Bickerstaff to take over, and none of the other assistants would do a better job than what VDN is doing right now. Like it or not, the Bulls are going to have to wait til the off-season to upgrade their coaching position. And they're going to have to make a big splash if they want any chance of attracting a quality FA. They also made it sound like Bick is doing most of the play-calling at this point anywhere, so they are afraid nothing would change if VDN got fired anyway.
  3. QUOTE (kapkomet @ Dec 25, 2009 -> 10:03 PM) Santa believes CO2 emitting coal is only in the United States. The stuff the rest of the world burns is laughing gas. Wait until it cap and trade bankrupts NWI.
  4. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 25, 2009 -> 10:20 PM) Yeah.. I hate you. No you don't...
  5. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 25, 2009 -> 07:55 PM) I did respond to someone, didn't I? Yeah, some stuff got deleted.
  6. QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 25, 2009 -> 10:28 AM) Keep in mind though, that no Super Bowl winning head coach has ever won another Super Bowl with another team... Well luckily the Bears haven't hired a coach with experience in like 50 years...
  7. QUOTE (stretchstretch @ Dec 24, 2009 -> 11:56 PM) Javy will pull a Swisher with the Yankees, bet on it........ Start off hot then choke down the stretch and lose his position?
  8. BTW that was the first time since 1971 the Hawks have had back to back shutouts of Detroit.

    We got some great stuff for the kids, plus I got a new HD video recorder. It was a fun year.
  10. Merry Christmas all!!!
  11. QUOTE (Brian @ Dec 24, 2009 -> 02:05 PM) The worst thing that ever happened to this thread was Mario Chalmers hitting that jumper. Closely followed by Arizona blowing a big lead against Illinois.
  12. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Dec 24, 2009 -> 10:56 PM) Harry Reid almost voted no. Well now he gets to say honestly that he was against it before he was for it...
  13. QUOTE (MHizzle85 @ Dec 24, 2009 -> 09:53 PM) Question. Why do hockey players get such long contracts? To circumvent the salary cap.
  14. Fernando Rodney goes to Anaheim. That is a nice deal as a set up man for the Angels.
  15. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Dec 23, 2009 -> 09:30 PM) Ima go out on a crazy limb and say Kane is a lock for Team USA. They are talking about Buff having a chance, but I don't know that he would be effective in Olympic hockey.
  16. QUOTE (knightni @ Dec 24, 2009 -> 11:33 AM) Now cross crash yourself and say 3 "Crash Rowand"s for every time you never gave 110%.
  17. QUOTE (bmags @ Dec 24, 2009 -> 10:59 AM) Thornton is so brave and kind to come back from the dead. twas merely a fleshwound...
  18. QUOTE (Pants Rowland @ Dec 24, 2009 -> 10:20 AM) Ah, the '84 Tigers. Baseball's version of the '85 Bears. Best team ever to only win one title. I watched Jack Morris no-hit the Sox on opening day that year and knew that team was destined for greatness. Morris, Hernandez, Trammel, Whitaker, Parrish, Lemon, Gibson, Evans, etc (and special mention to Rusty Kuntz just because he has the best name ever in baseball). Just a dominant team that still stands in the memories of baseball fans to this day. Started out 35-5, including the Sox having a great series against them. They were amazing.
  19. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Dec 24, 2009 -> 09:40 AM) The Cubs will still give him a chance to close when Marmol either implodes or explodes his elbow. The Nats will let him do it from day one though.
  20. QUOTE (joeynach @ Dec 23, 2009 -> 10:29 PM) There is no mention in this article, but If I recall correctly didn't the sox set some sort of crazy record that year for consecutive games played with a lead. Something like the first 42 or 43 games they had a lead IIRC.
  21. They have to be the team of the decade. They were in first every single day of the year, plus they tied a record 11-1 in the post season. In other words there was exactly one day all season long where they weren't either in first place, or leading a playoff series. That is the very definition of total dominance.
  22. QUOTE (WCSox @ Dec 23, 2009 -> 04:58 PM) Excluding the strike year, I consider the '84 Sox to be the most disappointing in my lifetime. We had almost all of the same tools in place plus Tom Seaver, but Greg Luzinski was done, Britt Burns was nearing the end of his career with that degenerative hip, LaMarr Hoyt's drug problem had caught up with him, Julio Cruz was no longer a prolific base-stealer, and Floyd Bannister had a below-average year. Not that we would've beaten the Tigers in the ALCS, but it would've been fun to watch them try. No doubt about it.
