  1. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 09:40 PM) These have been like playoff games. It really has been a great series so far. It shows the Sox can play with the top teams when their heads are in it.
  2. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 09:31 PM) He had throw a crap load of pitches over the last 2 days. It might not go too well. That is why I prefaced it with, if he isn't tired. If they hold him out because he is around 50 pitches in the last two days, that is fine. If they hold him out because they are scared, they need to make the switch for good.
  3. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 09:23 PM) I have a feeling one of these days futuresox is gonna be the greatest team specific prospect site out there, and we're gonna have guys flying around, scouting each league, video taping players, etc. It'll take a while, but I see it happening. Gonna be? Who is better now?
  4. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 09:29 PM) Any chance Jenks pitches the 9th with a lead? If he isn't tired, you have to send him out there. If you don't you had better plan on having a new closer.
  5. Way to take advantage boys. Now lets see that pen do some work.
  6. Wow, Alexei fooled the s*** out of Upton with that swing.
  7. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 09:09 PM) Wow, Aardsma looks absolutely filthy! Tigers lose!
  8. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 08:55 PM) Seeing Carrasco here makes me think Dotel will be traded. We are down. Carrasco usually pitches when we are close but losing.
  9. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 08:23 PM) Like DBAH0, I haven't done this in a while. About one year actually, so not as long as Andy. Charlotte leading Lehigh Valley 4-2 in the 8th Lillibridge 2-3 2 RBIs, R. He's somehow got his average up to .255, Flowers 0-3. Whisler pitched a gem. So has someone gotten through to Lilli about staying down on the ball?
  10. Carrasco in for 7th Nice job by the kid tonight.
  11. QUOTE (southsideirish71 @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 08:41 PM) The first time I saw him go the other way as a plan was Monday night. Hence another reason an all fields gap machine who makes contact like crazy might be a nice change for the 2 hole. I do remembering him hitting and running one with Pods through the hole a while ago.
  12. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 08:40 PM) Does Alexei ever go the other way? Not on purpose anyway...
  13. It really was an impressive outing by Torres. Hopefully they keep the kid in mind if Colon can't throw anything but a mediocre fastball.

  15. Let's watch the name calling, shall we?
  16. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 04:20 PM) Someone must be in the front roooooooooooowwww. I'm looking at tickets on stubhub, and I want to sit in a row with a little extra room because of the kids.
  17. Keep in mind, with a surgically rebuilt elbow, there is a very good chance that Jenks hurts himself if he is always going at 100%. At that point he becomes a payroll drain as he sits out a year to get surgery again.
  18. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 04:08 PM) So here's a sort of random thought... a name we aren't hearing much about is Logan Johnson. He was converted from OF to C for this year, he's at W-S now. He's got an .858 OPS. If his defense is half-decent at C, that's a pretty good offensive performance for a catcher. He's also 25 at High A so he is by no means a great prospect, but, if he could put up similar offensive numbers in AA later this year or next year, and be a good defensive C, I think he might be someone to keep an eye on as a potential backup to Flowers in a year or two. Anyone have any info on how is transition to C is going? I'll see what I can find out.
  19. QUOTE (maki @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 04:08 PM) 8th Row behind Sox pen, 9th row behind visitors and bullpen sports bar. Awesome!
  20. Does anyone know what the front row # is of the row behind the White Sox bullpen in LF? It would be in either Secs 157 or 158. Thanks!
  21. QUOTE (CanOfCorn @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 03:39 PM) Or, if he stays the way he is, then he isn't a friggin' clown. I'm not saying I want him to change. Its more a statement on how good of a guy he really is. He didn't have to take a contract as small as he did, and he sure doesn't have to lag in coverage. But he makes those choices. Buehrle is an incredible man, as well as pitcher.
  22. QUOTE (Special K @ Jul 22, 2009 -> 03:40 PM) Well put... If GMs around baseball had any intelligence they would start valuing White Sox youth at a higher level as we almost overnight became stocked with young players with a lot of potential. (Plus, I kind of want Halladay for not that much in return.) They are. In this economy, you have to balance performance with contract. A guy who might put up superior numbers, but cost $10,000,000 more might not be worth it anymore, because you will leave yourself short somewhere else. It is exactly what happened to the Sox roster this year. With all of the big money players, we have had problems from about the 22nd man at the bottom of the roster on.
