The Sopranos
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 10, 2007 -> 09:22 PM) So I'm the only one that thought it was outstanding? Tony is about to be indicted and probably go to prison but everything is just peachy to him because he's on top, he won. His family is safe from danger, healthy and well on their way to big things and even more importantly legitimate big things. He makes it through the biggest war yet with his family fully intact and proporous. The tension created in the final scene was epic, amazing work. It was literally the worst possible episode. Let me put it like this... If you are taking your final, and you leave the most important question blank, you are probably going to fail that test, no matter how well you did on the rest of it. That's this episode for me. It was great up until the end, but that completely ruined it for me. Its almost like David Chase wrote the whole episode, and then brought in the Sox middle relievers to finish it.

For GOP only
A bit of Friday news that doesn't involve Paris... This involves destruction of government property and perjury, but we basically have heard nothing about it. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/19106937/

The Greg Walker thread
QUOTE(Kalapse @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 12:03 PM) So then the players are just tuning him out since they all seem to have the same approach at the plate and Walker wouldn't be teaching them such an approach. Perhaps it's time to bring in some new blood, maybe a different voice in their ear would make a difference. And that's fine... Do you know how many times I have seen that arguement? I think once now. Personally I keep seeing post after post about Greg Walker teaching people to swing like they are, and I haven't seen it once in print, on TV, on the radio, or in second hand anecdotes.

The Greg Walker thread
QUOTE(StrangeSox @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 11:20 AM) Don't worry, some here would tell you that getting rid of the hitting coach won't matter. In fact, according to them, the hitting coach has zero influence on hitting and shouldn't be held accountable for such horrendous performance. Of course, they never give any sort of criteria of when Walker WOULD be accountable or SHOULD be fired... I'm still waiting to see in print where Greg Walker actually told anyone to pull everything and swing for the fences like I keep seeing...

QUOTE(BigSqwert @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 10:30 AM) No wonder players bad mouth the Sox organization when they leave. Even the fans trash the players when they leave. When they leave? They get treated better when they leave then when they are here!

Wireless power a reality??
QUOTE(Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 10:28 AM) Nikola Tesla would be so proud!! It amazes me that no one today knows who Tesla is, outside of a very select few.

QUOTE(smalls2598 @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 09:51 AM) Hey thanks, Mike. I was just asking a question, no need for the 'dope' comment. As I mentioned, I read it on a fantasy baseball site. I know it was a rumor. But i thought maybe he may play a few games to get warmed up for next week when they play in Philly and Pitts. You know, since Paulie isn't hitting. Not you, the site. If they don't know the difference between AL and NL rules, they have got some issues.

White Sox vs. Astros, 6/8/07 (L)
QUOTE(smalls2598 @ Jun 8, 2007 -> 09:42 AM) Is there any truth to the rumor that Thome will be playing 1st base this weekend? Edit: I should mention that i read it on a fantasy baseball site... The site is a bunch of dopes. There is no need for him to play first because we are at home, and we use the DH in AL parks.

Aaron Poreda selected
QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 07:18 PM) Everybody laughed last night at the projection that we'd pass on Porcello, take a project, and the Tigers would take Porcello instead. I guess the people around here haven't learned about Kenny and our scouts yet, they aren't very smart. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 07:32 PM) Taking a guy with 1 pitch and a mediocre strikeout rate in college over Porcello is inexcuseable. I am not nearly informed enough to speak of our other picks, but to take Andy Sisco clone over Porcello isn't working at all. Good god you need to get over yourself. I know you are mad with the way the Sox have been playing lately, but the stuff you have been posting lately is just about unreadable. Do us all a favor and either count to ten before you post, or get a new hobby besides Soxtalk.

QUOTE(fathom @ Jun 7, 2007 -> 10:45 PM) Such irony here. He was one of the 5 best hitters in the Sox organization over the last 20 years. Pods is just as lazy as he is....with 1/1000000th of the talent. The real irony is how much more popular players get as soon as they get traded away from the White Sox.
