  1. Wasn't McClure a guy who was Rule 5 eligible? If so, and no one picked him, that should tell you what people think of him.
  2. I don't know where this is from, but if we get the #1 prospect in baseball PLUS someone else for Hendriks, i will drive his ass to Ohare in the middle of this blizzard.
  3. Look, the whole world knew we were selling Sale/Eaton/Quintana. When you have a commodity people want, your desperation doesn't matter, because teams needs and competition matter more. Even if the Sox are being required by Jerry to cut dollars, Liam Hendriks still makes the back end of every single bullpen in MLB a lot better. Teams will bid for that, because there is no one out there for only dollars who is even close to that level.
  4. Nothing wrong with a flier deal like this. It's a live arm and see if your guys can harness it. If not, send him packing again.
  5. The Sox don't have to dump Hendriks. Teams need relief help, and Liam is one of the best in the business. If teams want him, they will have to pay up for him. It really is that simple.
  6. Nah, it is early here, but we are forecast for 15 to 20 once the lake effect kicks in on the back end. Been a while since we had one of these.
  7. Tell the Cubs to move out of your head. They living rent free.
  8. If it is a DFA deal, it is probably not much.
  9. Weather away.
  10. Schultz is such a wild card right now. He is the type of guy that takes a system from middling to top, if he gets to his potential.
  11. Did the Mets actually offer him, or are you referring to fan porn trade offers?
  12. Or quit offering us James McCann and get fucked.
  13. For the record, it COULD be personal, but a NTC is also typically used by players to block the most likely teams they would be traded to in an effort to extract something extra to approve a trade, such as exercising an option, or promising another clause in a deal, etc.
  14. So none of the insiders knew about McCann's no trade, or that the White Sox were on it when they were discussing a McCann deal. Bravo.
  15. I am more surprised the Mets are giving him a roster spot over the winter versus anything else.
  16. So this is where those kind of WAR type stats for defense have problems. If the best guy was "average" according to the defensive metrics, the defensive metrics are wrong, or at least don't do a very good job of making a difference between the quality of the various OF positions.
  17. Along with their two top prospects at least?
  18. Even if this is a salary dumb, Hendriks is an asset with trade value. If we take back a crappy contract that will only increase the rest of the return with a guy like McCann included.
  19. There we go. And it happens A LOT in free agency, especially at the end of a deal.
  20. There is the salary dump. Same old White Sox.
  21. We also got you the best gift of all, a holiday blizzard, Dairy Queen not included.
  22. One of the big writers was really big on him too IIRC>
