  1. This was in reference to the idea we should have brought Andrus in to play 2nd to start the year.
  2. Andrus was also making as much in one year as Leury was in three, without including the vesting option.
  3. That doesn't mean he isn't going to try for the best opportunity possible. Even if it isn't with the Sox, the guy is playing for his next contract, not this one.
  4. His legs must be OK, but they said yesterday he was still feeling it a bit on a swing.
  5. He can sign with anyone in MLB. Even if it isn't contractual dollars, he is going to want some reassurances on things like playing time.
  6. Romy supposedly plays more defensive positions, including the OF, so it makes sense to make him the new Leury.
  7. Very nice to see us moving up the charts finally.
  8. 3rd round pick this year. High floor, quick mover type of guy.
  9. How many contending teams are 4 deep on their depth chart?
  10. His contract was with Oakland. When they released him he now requires a new contract with his new team which includes none of the former stipulations.
  11. TRANSLATION: There is progress on my reading the tea leaves from other social media. The salary is really obvious for anyone who understands baseball transactions.
  12. This, plus Yolbert hasn't been a very good hitter in the hitters paradise of Charlotte.
  13. And the media didn't seem to care that we all got lied to. Great work as always there by our local sports media.
  14. It's all in the Fire Tony thread as well as all over Twitter.
  15. If Sanchez isn't good enough to play for the Sox down 3 middle infielders, who else is going to want him? Just asking questions.
  16. He is a free agent. There is no claiming him. He has to agree to terms with a team now.
  17. Even after Cueto's statement he said there wasn't a problem.
  18. Technically all of baseball would have had a shot at him both at the trading deadline, and when he was on waivers unclaimed with the remainder of his $14+m contract for this year, and the vesting option left out there as well. NO one wanted him with either option. Now teams can sign him for the minimum, and my guess is he will look for the best playing opportunity, which is probably the Sox for now.
  19. Yolbert? The guy with a .642 OPS in Charlotte and .600 in August? Pass I will guess you are talking about Jose Rodriguez? He's super young for his level already, and isn't thought of as a top prospect that would typically get skipping AAA type of treatment, if I had to guess.
