  2. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 5, 2005 -> 12:01 PM) What I want to know, how...in a game of that magnitude in front of your HOME FANS how do you come out so flat? How? I can't even fathom how you come out with a lack of energy in last nights game. Well the Bulls pulled it off. Just like the last 3 games. Change that or you're going home. That simple. If we can jump out on Washington early in game 6 to show them we are not done, we got a shot. If not, it's baseball time. That is the one reason I would support Ben Gordon starting over Chris Duhon. I think Du is the much more complete player, and should split time right now... just for his presenece on the D end. But I can't tell you how many games this year where the Bulls are down 10 points in the first quarter. Its almost like we need that instant offense over the good defense.
  3. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 5, 2005 -> 12:21 PM) Yeah, you've got a point. But I don't see it being a huge deal where we play AJ vs. KC then sit him vs. someone like TB. Have we got any lefties coming up? Maybe that is what Ozzie is thinking? Anyway, I know I wouldn't have minded seeing Widger, Timo (if we have to have him) and Willie today (if he was with us).
  4. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 5, 2005 -> 12:17 PM) Tampa and Toronto It's nothing drastic. Heck it could be the Charlotte Knights and they would be better than KC.
  5. QUOTE(kapkomet @ May 5, 2005 -> 12:14 PM) OUCH. This is the last thing these companies needed. I will tell you now, that the same things that have happened in the airline industry is about to happen with the auto mfg (read renegotiations on the union contracts). Granted, GM is way bigger then AMR, for example, but still... plant closings and the like is the only thing that will save this company. (edit - in the long term). And the thing is the UAW has minimum employee numbers written into their contracts, and are refusing to renogitate them before they are to end in 2007. GM and F's only options if they want out is to declare bankruptcy.
  6. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ May 5, 2005 -> 12:10 PM) Look around you. There are threads b****ing about Kruk, Paulie, BBTN, Joe Morgan etc despite us being in 1st place. :rolly Then go and look at every game thread where I am there supporting THE BEST TEAM IN BASEBALL I am enjoying this team. Just because I point out what my concerns are DOES NOT mean I am not enjoying the Sox. Get a clue. :finger Man if this is enjoying the team, I can't imagine what you are going do when they actually lose a few.
  7. QUOTE(Hideaway Lights @ May 5, 2005 -> 12:01 PM) apparently you missed the game last night. His homer DID break a sizable oh-fer streak...
  8. There have got to be more... God, someone help him out... I mean you need something to b**** about WHILE WE ARE THE BEST TEAM IN BASEBALL
  9. This is a big blow for two of the big 3. This means that their interest rates on their bonds are going to WAY up. It is not a good time to be a US car company. Both stocks have fell hard intraday after the news was made public, with both stocks falling about 5%.
  10. QUOTE(Middle Buffalo @ May 5, 2005 -> 11:51 AM) Bono does come off arrogantly, but I think he's sincere. At least he's using his fame for something positive. Padding his bank account?

  12. One more thing that I haven't seen mentioned anywhere that could explain some of the wildness... Last night was Neal Cotts's first appearence since Wed April 24th, which was a full two weeks prior. Last night was also only the 8th appearence for Neal, covering only 7 innings in 28 games.
  13. I just can't believe how big of a choke job the Bulls pulled off. For 2 full games, and 98% of another, they looked like the 0-9 Bulls. Flat, listless, confused on defense, lost on offense, committing bad foulsl... I am embarassed for them.
  14. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ May 5, 2005 -> 11:19 AM) So I'm home "sick" from school and the Sox play a day game. What a dilema. What dilema? Go!

QUOTE(The Critic @ May 5, 2005 -> 10:13 AM) Because drinking is part of the celebration. Same reason we celebrate St. Patrick's Day. If Flag Day included alcohol, we'd celebrate Flag Day like a muthaf***a. No green included or intended. Its funny how we can take someone else's ethic holiday, add alcohol, and then everyone celebrates it.

  17. QUOTE(IndplsSoxFan @ May 5, 2005 -> 09:46 AM) What about bring Ed Farmer over from the radio broadcast? I enjoy those 2 on the radio (I can't remember the other guys name). Rooney would be the first one over, if it is possible. Rooney does lots of TV stuff away from the Sox, and it is very good at it.

I had to ask the question, because I always laugh at all the people getting drunk at Hacienda on the 5th of May, pounding Margaritas and Coronas, yet they have no idea why. I find it pretty entertaining.

So the question is... WITHOUT SEARCHING, how many people know what Cinco de Mayo celebrates?

  24. We need somekind of a take off for smartball in a 2005 nickname. Something like Einsteins Boys or similar...
  25. That is the one thing I ALWAYS told new color guys I would train when I was in college. You can never say the score too often. Its not quite as bad on TV, because you can usually see the score, but the point is still valid. And I love to see the other teams praised when they do well. It bring a sense of professionalism to the booth, and makes their praises and critizisms a little more valid to me. It shows fairness and honesty.
