  1. QUOTE(Milkman delivers @ May 4, 2005 -> 04:54 PM) Average - 253 OBP - .352 His OBP is almost .100 points higher than his average. That's pretty good, especially with all the sacrifices, like the other guy said. And he has been sacrificing ABs all year to move runners over. I hate it when pundits just look at stats to determine a players worth. Pods is the definintion of intangible.
  2. QUOTE(jasonxctf @ May 4, 2005 -> 04:57 PM) to me, parking tickets are just the cost of doing business. nothing out of the ordinary. if he spent that money on strippers and booze than that would be another thing. also, how do we know what campaign funds these consisted of. He could have used the private money he loaned his campaign for this or DNC donations or even my donation to pay for this. Um to clear one thing up it was private money SHE loaned his campaign.

  5. QUOTE(chi-guy2 @ May 4, 2005 -> 02:26 PM) what channel is the game on Read like 4 posts above yours
  6. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 4, 2005 -> 01:45 PM) Was this the schedule before the season, or are they basing this on who they think will watch? I only ask because I take some joy in the Cubs being on CSN Plus 2 while the Sox get CSN plus - a closer thing to a real network. The Bulls bumped both teams. Orginally it was supposed to be the Sox on CSN, and the Cubs on CSN plus. The Bulls knocked each team back a channel.
  7. Sox are on CSN Plus, which for most people is CLTV. Bulls are on CSN, and the Cubs are on CSN Plus 2, which is the Total Living Network, whatever the hell that is.
  8. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ May 4, 2005 -> 12:51 PM) Not once I have condemned people here regarding this. In fact, just the opposite. Go read my posts again. I have said that the people here are all die hard and all would support this team in any way possible if and when they could. When I was in Chicago I used to go to 50 games every year as a student. I would go to the UD because that is all I could afford then. And these were seasons when I knew from day one we had no chance (the days when the Tribe was the clear favorite every year)....except for the 2000 season when the Sox surprised me. You can say then what is the point of these threads, and you may have a point there. BUT then I would say what is the point of telling BBTN to f*** off or of telling Paulie to correct his swing either or telling Dye to do something since none of them would ever care to read this board. The point of these threads is to highlight what is the problem with the Sox and suggest ways to fix it. Does it have to be done daily? I do not think so, and I have not done that. But when you get 12000 in the game when you could be setting the all time baseball record (26 games with a lead) it needs to be raised. And finally, who the f*** gave any of you rights to decide what is worth talking about here. IF you do not like these threads, avoid it. Simple. Easy, everyone has the right to say what they want. That's kinda the point of a message board. And once AGAIN. To hit on ONE NIGHTS attendance, takes away from the FACT (as you like to use) that April had the best attendance since 1994. It means that MORE PEOPLE ARE GOING TO THE GAMES!!! Pointing out one nights attendance being bad when we had the best month of April in over a decade, is like b****ing at Iguchi for taking a strike last night while going 4-4. It means you are ignoring the bigger picture. And if you want to be that kind of a poster, have at it. I am just trying to show what reality looks like. And if you want to ignore it as usual, have at it. And finally the funny thing is that the internet works both ways. If you don't like what I am saying, who the f*** are you to tell me what to say? If you don't like my posts, you can take your own advice and avoid it. Simple, according to you, but you can't seem to handle it yourself. I guess that is just more hypocracy.
  9. Sign seen on the fridge in our lunchroom "Thanks for eating my birthday cake. I didn't even get a piece of it. I hope you liked it"
  10. QUOTE(AddisonStSox @ May 4, 2005 -> 12:46 PM) The Good -Garland -Iguchi -Hermanson -Widger -Everett The Bad -Konerko -Rowand -Takatsu The Ugly -Dye -Cotts The MVP's -Harris There ya go Addy, I cleaned that up to show what you really meant.
  11. QUOTE(Balta1701 @ May 4, 2005 -> 12:44 PM) Buehrle has pitched 2 of the best starts in the AL all season - opening day against Cleveland and the 1 hour race against Seattle. Those 2 have to count for something. And his loss to Minnesota happened as much because of an error by Dye as anything Buehrle did. He also gave up 7 runs to a mediocre Oakland team, and 3 homers to a horrible Royals team. With the expectations of MB being a Cy Young contender every years, I don't see how anyone could grade him higher than a C.
  12. QUOTE(EvilJester99 @ May 4, 2005 -> 12:42 PM) Shingo has double D's eh? I edited, but that is a great response

  15. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ May 4, 2005 -> 12:27 PM) You can call it hypocrisy is that is how you feel about it southsider. My concern is regarding the long term success of the White Sox. Anyone who really loves this team would be concerned about it. Concern isn't condeming people for not going to baseball games, while simultaniously not going to the games yourself. Plus when it is done ad naseum it gets, well, nauseating. People will go to games when the conditions are right for them. Having a daily thread knocking people for not going to games is BS, when the people starting the threads aren't going to games.
  16. QUOTE(sox-r-us @ May 4, 2005 -> 11:52 AM) OMFG, I cannot believe some people here Just because people are talkking about a FACT does not change the FACT just because they do or do not attend the games. FACTS stay as FACTS. And hypocracy is hypocracy.

  18. QUOTE(bullfan @ May 4, 2005 -> 11:26 AM) He thinks he will be out about 3 weeks. The doctor said that the problem is in his abductor muscles. Hopefully it is just a pulled muscle, but it needs time to heal. Damn. I really had a feeling Charlotte was right around the corner for the big man. Hopefully he gets passed all of this, and gets his golden ticket soon.
