  1. But we literally hired Chris Getz because he was going to save us a year of figuring out the organization because he knew everyone already. If half of what has been said about Luis Robert is true, plus full well knowing you are betting on a dude that has been injured a ton since we signed him at 18 years old, Getz should have known that 2023 absolutely could be a peak. If he Fedde'd the deal and took one less on something to get a deal done, that is insanely better than what we are getting in 2025. This should have been most obvious to Chris Getz.
  2. Here's the thing. If you know your car has problems, the dealer offers you $1000 under what is is worth, do you walk away knowing it could break down at any time because of "value" or do you take what you can get so you can move on? Even if Chris Getz is more worried about "value" vs what is best for the franchise, he would have been very likely to be be proven right in the long run when Luis Robert has his inevitable breakdown. He literally did this last year with Fedde. He took a less than value deal because he probably knew this was peak value, and even though it was less than what it should have been, it was better to get what they got, than risk keeping him.
  3. If you KNOW there is a really good chance this is peak value, and you allow him to depreciate significantly, you didn't get maximum value, and that ISN'T best for the organization. And honestly, why is the assumption they wouldn't get value? Rick Hahn got huge value for both Chris Sale and Adam Eaton with 4 years of control. Why wasn't Chris Getz capable of doing the same?
  4. With how Jerry treated his candidacy, I can also see his family changing their minds on his being inducted as a White Sox.
  5. Again, if Chris Getz care more about "value" vs what he knows is best for the franchise, why did we hire him?
  6. This had better be more planting silly stories at the deadline.
  7. But for Chris Getz it wouldn't be hindsight. It is literally why he was promoted.
  8. You are way to caught up in this single detail and entirely missing the big picture. Coming off of the complete collapse of this rebuild and throwing the old regime under the bus to do it, Getz walked into what we are now being told is a complete disaster which had no other outcome other than long term collapse of the franchise, (despite claiming that Getz was lying to everyone when he claimed the Sox could compete quickly, which is the valid reason to hold on to Robert,) with an asset at its peak in a franchise circling the drain. An asset now that we are told has been lazy and doesn't listen to coaching. An asset that has had injury problems since he was signed at 18. This under a GM who was supposed to not need time figure it out, because he already knew everything about the players in the organization. And despite all of this, we are supposed to focus on "value", despite Getz having access to all of this insider information knowing full well that if he stayed some combination of injury prone, lazy, and uncoachable, he wasn't going to get any kind of a return for Robert anyway? If Chris Getz was really more worried about the PR of "value" versus what was best for this franchise long term, he should quit his job and find something safer for his level of cowardice. Teams were going to back up the truck for a healthy and cheap 2023 Luis Robert. Take the best offer, reload, and use it to move the rebuild forward. The Sox got massive returns for players in similar situations in the last rebuild. If these guys were half as smart as we are told, they should have been fine.
  9. Betting on Luis Robert's health has always been stupid.
  10. Yep. If Chris knew all along this was a project, literally his first mistake was not taking the best offer on Robert at his peak.
  11. Lenyn Sosa was signed by the White Sox on July 2nd, 2016, and has known no other organization but the White Sox since he was 16 years old. How the f*** do you make it 9 years and still not know the infield fly rule as a professional athlete? What the f*** are these kids being taught?
  12. Apparently they extended Billy Donovan. Gotta give it to Jerry, he'd rather employ complete asskissers who do what he asks versus actually achieving something. That's why his franchises are completely in disarray.
  13. Though if it is all 5, that probably means we are including a pitcher or Sosa.
  14. That four prospect return could be interesting. Though it's a huge downgrade over the Cincy deal this winter.
  15. Colson not off to a good start today.
  16. I just laugh at this "narrative" only appearing for certain players, while they traded for others and say nothing. I am sure if there is dirt, we will hear it when he is dealt.
  17. For a team planting so many MAKE UP stories, this seems like a clear example of self over team. Wouldn't a good teammate just be quiet and do what it takes to win for the good of his team and teammates?
  18. The more this plays out, the more this all feels like a lie, trying to keep him safe while they trade him.
  19. This just feels like something we will laugh at in a couple of years.
  20. Your posts are lukewarm dogwater. Maybe they are appealing if you have nothing better and are thirsty, but almost all aspire to something better. The need to be out offended is played out.
  21. Jerry was going to cut. Revenues crashed while expenses blew up from like 2020 to 2022. 2025 was the cherry on the sundae with on top with no TV money for half a season. They picked the wrong direction with every decision they made starting with the LaRussa hire, and they paid for it, quite literally.
