I would bet on a Gallo resurgence for Pollock. The Yankees might be willing to do the same to save some prospect capital.

If you are a fan of Sorvino, put Godfather of Harlem on your list. Such a spectacular show. All-star cast, great stories. Must watch if you are into the gangster theme.

Trade Rumors Catch-all
The writing is on the wall. Even if the Sox don't say it out loud, their actions speak loudest of all. After that common sense takes over. Unless you are willing to shove him into the minors for years, he isn't going to be a starter. You can't just say he is a starter and push him out there for 180 innings. That takes work and time, and Crochet hasn't done any of that work yet.

Trade Rumors Catch-all
So we should trade our not so good guys to the other teams. Um, why would you think the other teams will give up premium to get our not so good players? The reason teams want Crochet is because of his ceiling. Maybe one other guy in the system has that kind of an arm. If that your stance, you may well not get any deals done. And the idea that the Cubs traded Cease because they didn't like him is laughable. They traded him because the Sox really wanted him AND the Cubs needed a good starting pitcher right now, not in 2 or 3 years. That is how these deals work. The other team isn't dumb. They want the top potential guys. If they don't get it from you, they get it from someone else and you get nothing and have to explain to your fans why you did nothing at the break and missed the playoffs.

You are looking at this wrong. Of course the Sox want him back. But you also have to look at what other teams will want. Crochet is going to be near the top of a lot of teams lists of assets that could be valuable from the Sox with how bad the rest of their farm system is.

7/26: Sox @ Rockies 7:40 CST….Is now the time to get over that .500 Mountain Top
Honestly, this is a series the Sox should think about brining up a guy like Haesley, especially if Harrison is a no go. If they don't do that, I hate to say it, but Leury should be in one of the OF spots.

On the Sox schedule, they will use him as a reliever for sure. Even if someone else trades for him, who is going to wait 2 or 3 years for him to build enough innings to start at the major league level?

Interesting question after that prediction. Last I knew they couldn't, but I don't know that for sure.

Trade Rumors Catch-all
Hahn said a lot of things that didn't end up being true. Who knows what the background of the situation actually was, but the bottom line is that Garrett Crochet is coming off of major surgery and has no history of being in shape to give starters innings. I don't see any team, the Sox or a team trading for him, being willing to wait out the clock until 2025 or 2026 until he can get into the shape to be able to handle a major league starting role. Neither Sale nor Kopech were coming off of that low of innings totals AND a major surgery. You keep mentioning other pitchers, but look at their lead up numbers. Chris Sale threw 89 and 103 innings his last two seasons as a college starter. Michael Kopech threw 134 and 126 in back to back seasons in the minors. It isn't the same jump. Even in Sale's case the Sox took insane care of him to get that jump, and he still got hurt and almost taken out of the rotation for good.

This is an interesting thought, especially with a couple of them being potentially quick movers in the 2nd and 3rd round picks.

Eloy is still hurt, TLR still putting him in LF
- Smoking some Colas cool-aid
Don't worry Tony won't start them anyway because 38 year old Leury will need to play.- What, if any, trade value does Eloy have?
He HAS to play every day to have value.- What, if any, trade value does Eloy have?
We could sell low on him, but everyone else has seen his inability to stay on the field at the same he starts to get expensive Not seeing teams line up for that.- Trade Rumors Catch-all
You do know the difference between Garrett Crochet and every single other starting pitcher you listed right? Since his college career started in 2018, he has NEVER pitched more than 65 innings in a single calendar year. Never. You don't get from 60 to 200 innings in a one or two year span either. You have to be conditioned for it. Unless he is wiling to spend the next two full seasons in the minors, he will never be a starter. It's similar to asking Usain Bolt to from the 100 meters to the marathon. Their bodies just aren't ready for it.- That's an utterly classless White Sox winner
It honestly wouldn't even upset me. But with Tony there, the team doesn't have the guts.- International Draft
Every single other sport can get international players slotted through their regular drafts. Why MLB can't do it is beyond me.- Smoking some Colas cool-aid
Thank you. I don't know when Colas turned into a cult hero, but it has been a wild couple of days topped off with people not being willing to trade him for Juan Freaking Soto.- Random Leury Analysis
I do think that putting Leury versus a neutral figure (which is what these numbers are trying to show), versus what other teams are getting off of their benches is an important distinction. Not many teams have two starting shortstops on their roster, and I am not sure that the difference is as big as we might think it would be otherwise. So shouldn't be looking at it as how Leury has preformed against would should be about the 15th best SS, we should be comparing him to somewhere between 31 and 60th, which is what a team should be getting off of their bench. Granted it has definitely been expanded with how much extra play Leury has seen between injuries and Tony wanting to get extra rest for certain guys, he has played a lot more than he should have.- 22 Draft signings thread
