I keep feeling like this. The 2020 and 21 White Sox are still in there somewhere. I know last year poisoned the well, especially for any predictive formulas, but I really feel like the worst case scenario with TLR happened last year, and that this year will be much closer to 20/21 than 22.

What makes it interesting is this is the purest of the stats versus eyes of arguments. There is nothing in his on the field performance that tells us that Cronin will amount to anything. But apparently his spin rates and advanced metrics love him. The guys like this make for really interesting test cases for these new metrics. The Sox seem to really be chasing spin rates and advanced internal metrics in their drafting in the last few years. I will be interesting to see what happens here.

And let's be honest, if we are going to root through other teams trash to put together our roster next year, I would much rather target someone like Alex Reyes, seeing as we have a guy who seems to improve the pitchers on his staff, versus who knows how we handle some of these other position players. I go cheap where I trust my staff most, not least.
