ChiSox59
A little surprised on Mendick, but called this as a possibility right when he got hurt. Shame for Danny.

Balta1701
Apparently Ruiz gets a $1 million guaranteed deal next year.

This was also my thought, if he’s not going to be 100% to start the year then you don’t want him on a guaranteed deal where you only can do a rehab stint with him. Jack Parkman
Can anyone explain why they tendered Ruiz? Bueller? Bueller? Anyone?

Ruiz at that salary and as the ~7th or 8th best reliever in the pen is fine, but I think you'd get more use from that spot going with a slightly worse pitcher who has options remaining to maintain roster flexibility. Tendering Ruiz puts the Sox in a position where almost no one in the pen can be optioned during the season.

Bummer has an option left but that'll never happen. Lambert is the only guy, in a pen right now that looks full, that has options remaining. Capn12
Boy, the Adam Engel experiment may FINALLY come to a close. The organization has been stuck on him for too long, with him never able to prove he can stay healthy.

Eh, a -0.1 WAR pitcher last year might be hard for the white Sox to replace, but that’s still not a bargain.
