  1. I don't think anyone would conflagrate message board posters with some of the stuff that happens both in those media towns, and with their fans actually IN the ballpark. The Sox are a fairly low stress environment to play in compared to some of the others. The media is generally team owned, and tame. The fans aren't NEARLY as aggressive as some of the other markets. I mean you can find anger if you look for it, but in general, anger isn't coming to look for them.
  2. On the bright side, this seems to be a pretty happy place to play in general. The media is pretty easy going, and the fans aren't awful towards most players. There isn't hte NEw York/Boston/Philly types of external pressures.
  3. Now that looks like a bird that could sacrifice bunt, and peck out the eyes of the 3rd basemen trying to field the bunt. That is what I am talking about.
  4. Sounds suspiciously Cubby yuppie like. We need our southside birds to be more gritty and high in twtw.
  5. This is Chicago. It's either got to a pigeon or a sea gull.
  6. Players of note without options below.
  7. I hadn't heard this yet.
  8. Almost as if the other teams weren't interested in them.
  9. It's almost like the other 29 teams out there realized the same thing and knew they could chance them on waivers in six months.
  10. Honestly, they just need to DFA him and get it over with.
  11. In order for this to happen, Micker has to clear waivers and have no one claim him.
  12. 6 to 8 weeks (42-56 days) is a BIT short of 60 days FWIW. Going to guess Yermin doesn't go to the 60.
  13. Looks like last year included a groin injury (Sept), COVID (july), and personal issues(Apr-May), and groin/hamstring during spring training.
  14. Yeah, it sounds like I don't have to worry about him dying in the OF so that is nice.
  15. At $10 a pop, or whatever the price is now, it won't matter to me anyways.
  16. It has to be a low level minor league return if the return wasn't a headline in the story. My guess, no Kimbrel, no Burger. Phillies might just need the roster slot.
  17. From The Athletic's off season review. https://theathletic.com/3200369/2022/03/28/mlb-offseason-grades-for-all-30-teams-jim-bowdens-guide-to-a-wild-winter-and-whats-next/?source=dailyemail&campaign=601983
  18. Archer has 6 million in incentives for the record.
