  1. Thank you. Look a LOT of people hated the Kimbrel deal when it happened, so I can handle that. But NO ONE was talking about getting Soler, Duvall, or any of these guys when those deals happened. There are deadline deals that made sense, and then the Brave hit the freaking powerball with theirs. It is 125% hindsight to pretend we should have done what the Braves did.
  2. On a team with Eloy, Yoan, and Robert, this isn't even remotely true.
  3. Another one's gone and another one's gone...
  4. Well would you look at that. Using your 2nd round picks pays dividends when you know what you are doing.
  5. Posts like this are cute. You don't have to have a level of power to "demand" anything. If you don't, it's just a temper tantrum.
  6. Find a high flight RF. At that point lock down Leury to a decent deal. See what you can pick out of the 2B market with who is left over or willing to come cheap. Heck, see if you can get a discount on Cesar and catch his rebound year. Then figure out how to refresh then pen and upgrade the rotation depth.
  7. There's no question that RF is a bigger priority, just because of the scarcity of what we are looking for.
  8. We can also sit here and make a lot of exceptions for the White Sox season as well. I think there is some definite confirmation bias in the original post, as it is obviously possible to win it all with the list of problems that he just listed, as the Braves are quite literally knocking on that doorstep. Personnel is part of it, but so is luck and very good in game management.
  9. Tyler Johnson starting to throw again.
  10. They got killed by the fanbase for doing nothing last year, for example.
  11. Atlanta was 26-31 in one run games, 31-37 against teams over .500, played 8 games under their pythagorean expectation. They were 19-19 vs playoff teams, but had an above .500 record against exactly one of them in STL, going under .500 against Boston, Dodgers, Yankees, and Rays.
  12. But he didn't. What didn't happen in the past doesn't matter. He's he and he has already proved he belongs. You actually can stunt his growth by not challenging him at this point.
  13. A guy like Andrew Vaughn gets nothing out of going to AAA. He us a nearly finished hitting product who needs to see MLB pitching to finish
  14. Freedom of Speech applies to the government, not the private sector. I wish more people understood this.
  15. McCullers arm fell off, Kershaw's arm fell off, Morton broke his leg, they made it 2-4 weeks longer than most of the Sox pitching did. i think most of that is on the individuals in this case. Rodon was never going to make it 200 innings. Cease making as long as he did was a complete surprise to me.
  16. And the changes for the better are striking from generation to generation. It might also be worth noting that this being a scandal doesn't happen a generation ago. It would have been boys being boys. I think even when it happened, the mechanisms to make sure it doesn't happen again didn't really exist like they do now.
