Hopefully this isn't our deadline spending.

They have been discussed and there are almost universally loved.

The team as it sits today can't beat good teams. We will see if that changes once some guys get healthy.

They could well be showcasing ReyLo as well.

Out of the top 12 teams in MLB, the Astros have the best record in MLB against teams over .500 (42-22), but the worst vs teams under .500 (13-14) Only one of 3 teams in baseball with a losing record against losing teams.

I will say this much, there were definitely "safer" picks on the board at #22. Shirley put himself and the Dev staff out there by drafting a pretty raw three sport athlete who has never been fully focused on baseball. Hopefully he turns out like the last raw SS who hadn't really focused on baseball SS we drafted in the first round.

Hopefully ReyLo is used as a long man and to give some relief to the starters as they need to be paced for the second half. We need them ready for the playoffs, not for August.

Would they offer the QO and risk that salary?

A 23 year old hitting .207 in A ball. Seems like an odd equal for Dylan Cease +, but ok.

He'd be a big piece the Sox wouldn't mind moving being out of options next year.
