  1. They don't value him at Joc Peterson. That should be REALLY obvious. Even if you want to combine his last season with this one to make essentially one full season, Dylan Cease is now at
  2. No it isn't. You might not value him at top prospect cost, but he is LONG above dumped for a shitty player with an expiring contract. 4 years of control for even a mediocre starter is FAR and above the return for a Joc Peterson.
  3. The one thing I will say that I have noticed, is that Rodon does seem to be approaching games like he is going to give exactly the effort he needs to get by. His velocity is lowest early on in the game, and then when he knows he is almost done, he breaks out the 99-100 mph stuff. I can't figure out if he is trying to pace himself in game to get by this season, or if he just takes that long to get loose.
  4. One angle that could be really interesting is Nelson Cruz. He is a DH only, and half of the AL is ready to be sellers, while most other teams have the position covered. Figure out a way to get him here, and then let Eloy split some time in LF and DH.
  5. I am thinking something that looks like how we did with Sale and Quintana in their first full seasons as starters with us.
  6. Someone will take a shot at him once he clears.
  7. They need to sell everything that isn't under contract for 22.
  8. Can't wait to make a minor league tour one of these days.
  9. You "build yourself up" by pitching. Rodon hasn't done that. Just like you built yourself up for running marathon by running long distances. The point is this isn't load management, this is conditioning.
  10. Ok, Boomer. Taking a guy who has literally never done the type of performance that is being talked about, and expecting to him to just be able to put up a full seasons worth of innings just because, isn't going to end well. He has two seasons of pitching 100 innings or more, 1 since 2018. His career high is 165 which happened in 2016. Expecting him to be able to handle the marathon of a season is unrealistic. Its like taking Usain Bolt and putting him in the marathon since he holds the 100 meter world record.
  11. Wow,, Montgomery all of the way up to #10.
  12. I am going to be honest here, there is about zero chance he goes to jail. Cases like this are so notoriously hard to convict in, especially because it is the one crime where it is perfectly OK and standard protocol to put the victim on trial. Offenders are rarely charged, let alone convicted.
  13. The Cubs should be backing up the truck to get whatever they can for their upcoming free agents. They can always try to sign Baez and Bryant during the off season just like they would have anyway. Both have already turned down long term deals worth a lot of money (though neither one at market value) so they even have some cover with the fans.
  14. Go out and run a marathon today, and then tell me about load management.
  15. Let me stop you right there. This is one of the absolute worst arguments to use to prop up a manager because by saying it, you are saying that you are also NOT QUALIFIED to know if a manager is good or bad. If you can't know when a manager is bad, you also can't know when they are good.
