One of the pre-season coups was the acquisition of Right hander Tom Seaver from the Mets as compensation for the loss of free agent Dennis Lamp. Seaver led the pitchers with a 15-11 record and a 3.95 ERA. Rich Dotson was 14-15 with 3.59 ERA, best on the team; LaMarr Hoyt was 13-18 and Floyd Bannister 14-11
