QUOTE (BaconOnAStick @ Aug 15, 2014 -> 06:53 PM) Raul Mendesi took Danish yard on a 3-2 pitch. Looks like I jinxed him with my no hit talk.
-
That is now 10 straight innings of no hit ball.
-
3 up 3 down for Danish including a SO of Bubba Starling.......Speaking of that dude, I feel like his name was brought up years ago as a future star and dude is still in A ball?

QUOTE (bulokis @ Aug 15, 2014 -> 01:06 AM) Our special teams is the weakest link. We dont have speed on KR/PR not even a viable returner in the squad. Still hope Chris Williams is that guy. Dude is Jimmy Johns fast. -
Harrelson, predictably, taken to task by media

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 14, 2014 -> 01:58 AM) I don't know why some of you guys aren't more mad at Hahn for the Addison Reed thing. I mean it's inexcusable to trade away a good closer (a proven closer for those of you who don't think he was good) when you have no closer candidates in the current organization. It's pretty bad GM'ing I think. You know, he did acquire some pieces in putting together his version of a bullpen. It's not like he didn't try. He just failed. That's what makes me shake my head at you guys giving him a free pass. He thought he was building a bullpen, but he failed miserably. It's just plain ridiculous to see all these bullpen implosions. If I was a season ticket holder, I'd surely be mad. i have no problem sounding like a broken record so I'll take the bait. They didn't have any closer candidates in the org?? Hahn didn't trade Reed after Nate Jones got hurt. Hahn didn't trade Reed after Daniel Webb went from a dominant reliever to what he is today. Hahn didn't trade Reed after Lindstrom (Who when he was a full time closer back in the day save 83% of his saves, Reed is at 85% for his career) got hurt.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 02:22 AM) Thing is, he hasn't been that bad. He's an excellent pinch hitter and still a good defender. Ya see, I can't see how you can bash Dunn like you do and say that. He's been sad the last 2 years, and years from now I will choose to forget his last 2 years.

Like I said yesterday Adam Dunn kills San Fran pitching! Atta boy Donkey! -
I really dislike the blown save stat they're presenting. It includes "blown saves" in none save opportunities as well. From what I can tell they blew 9 games in save opportunities....4 less than Addison Reed

Watch as the Sox look to sweep the season series vs a pretty good Giants team. Our old pal Jake Peavy has the same number of wins as Erik Johnson, lets keep it that way.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 01:40 AM) Man, I know this is just the internet but you are one tough critic regarding Paulie. How can keeping a World Series hero, a true hero, around one more year bother you so much? We're talking about one of the worst teams in baseball in the White Sox. What possibly has Paulie done to you to feel this way? I mean yes he's disgustingly slow. So is Dunn. To think having him around one more year has in any way affected the future of this franchise is simply wrong. Paulie rocked! Have you ever consider we don't like seeing our World Series hero look like an awful baseball player? It's sad. I'm a wrestling fan and allow me to use an analogy. Hulk Hogan was a god to me growing up, but the guy strapped up his boots for far too long and there became a point where it was just depressing to watch. Does that mean I now hate Hulk Hogan?? Absolutely not. NOBODY hates PK..

QUOTE (Chilihead90 @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 01:15 AM) Oh, I'm sorry, you must not like having Carlos Rodon, a product of a terrible season last year. And FYI: Jared Mitchell was the 23rd overall. That would take a miracle for us to be good enough to get stuck with the 23rd pick. I get your angle here but c'mon man, openly rooting for a loss is pretty weak and highly annoying....At least last year we were realistically looking at a top 3 pick. If you wanna celebrate afterwards so be it, but actively rooting for it during games? Weak sauce.

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 12:48 AM) Not with this s***ty pen. Trust me man, you may not have said anything, and I know I wouldn't say anything, but if Sale went out there and gave up a run the Robin haters would be ripping him a new one.

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Aug 12, 2014 -> 09:56 AM) Sorry, Butler has been a better player then Dunn the past 4 seasons. This year Butler has had a down year though but Butler is a much more complete player then Dunn at the plate. Butler is actually capable of hitting good pitching, something I have pretty much zero faith in Dunn doing. Decided not to make a thread for this, so I'll just further hijack this thread.... I like pointing out fun facts, during todays game I randomly looked up Dunns batter vs pitcher stats against the Giants and noticed he really dominated some pretty damn good pitchers on that staff....Then I got to thinking about how he kills Kershaw, and wondered if there are more good pitchers out there that he does well against.....Surprisingly, there's quite a few good pitchers out there he smashes.... Cain .304/.385/.652 2 HRs Hudson .333/.368/.778 5 HRs Kershaw .615/.643/1.692 4 HRs Masterson- .295/.373/.432 1 HR Wainwright- .381/.552/.571 1 HR Dickey- .400/.471/.800 2HR King Felix .250/.438/.750 2 HR Cliff Lee .286/.400/.429 . 1HR Hammel .350/.381/.800 2HR Lester .273/.467/.545 1 HR Kuroda .278/.500/.556 1HR Colon .462/.467/.692 1HR Cy Chen .346/.469/.769 3HR Kluber .316/.409/.526 1HR All that reminded me of the bold part of your post.....It would appear Dunn CAN hit good pitching....Somewhat baffling. I made sure to only look at guys he's had more than 10 ABs against so the sample size is a little more than just a 1 for 3 or 2 for game. I really don't know what that all means but I found it rather interesting.

QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Aug 13, 2014 -> 12:39 AM) Any reason why Robin didn't let Sale complete the game other than trying to move up in the draft. This was too predictable that the pen would do this. They all need to be punched in the nuts. Dude had 117 pitches....I'm actually a little surprised there weren't some here questioning Robin not taking him out after 7 when he had 100 on the dot.....You know if he gave up a run we'd be hearing it.
