QUOTE (chw42 @ Aug 24, 2014 -> 01:43 AM) Would you do a Stacy/Maclin for Fitzgerald/Vereen swap? That's a tough one. If Ridley continues to have fumblitis and Vereen takes the majority of the carries it's a no brainer. I think I'd do it in a PPR league but I'd be real hesitant about it. -
QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ Aug 23, 2014 -> 11:58 PM) Otani can enter the draft, I think He was able to enter the draft out of high school, not now sadly. They look rally intriguing so I hope I'm wrong with all this.

QUOTE (Disco72 @ Aug 23, 2014 -> 10:42 AM) Does anyone have a favorite site for up-to-date depth charts? I usually don't pay too much attention, and just follow the buzz, but Ourlads seemingly stays up to date on things. As for Stacy....IMO, he's the most overrated RB in the league. Averaged just 3.9 YPC last year(31st in the league) and his numbers only looked good because the Rams QB Kellen Clemons and they were "forced" to run the ball a ton. Stacy was 11th in the league in carries despite only being the starter for 12 games(Only 4 carries before he started starting)....I can't imagine that volume of carries continues with Cunningham and 3rd round pick Tre Mason around as well. -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 23, 2014 -> 07:40 PM) Boy the Sox stink. In this day and age of accountability, who should get the axe for this team's demise? Last place 2 years in a row. Not much hope for next year (because there are way too many holes to fill in one offseason again). The players, by being replaced by better ones. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Aug 23, 2014 -> 08:13 PM) They're beating up the Tigers. Since Mauer came off the DL that team has been playing well. Kennys Vargas looks like the real deal and Arcia has really picked it up. If Buxton can ever get and stay healthy they could have a nice little core out there.

Not positive on this, but I believe those guys have to pitch in Japan for 7 years before they come to the US.

People gotta quit sleeping on Marcus Semien

I know it's been brought up many a times, but Derek Jeter had 56 errors in 128 games one season and now he's a 5 time gold glove winner. Also most of us haven't seen them(Anderson and Johnson) play with our own eyes so we don't really know the extent of the errors......Lexi has been in the bottom half of short stops as far as errors go many a years and yet that doesn't really tell the whole story. We see with our eyes that overall Lexi is a damn fine SS. Lexi's ample range gets him to a lot of balls other SSs don't get to and sometimes that is what gets him his errors by "creating harder plays". On the flip side a guy like Jhonny Peralta, who has virtually no range, had just 21 errors in 446 games, 1 less than Lexi had last season alone. -

Is their nasty closer available to pitch? I believe he started last game correct?

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Aug 23, 2014 -> 03:12 PM) Sox lose 5-3................................ 7th straight loss on the road against the Yankees. Team in the typical toilet mode under Ventura in August. 16-13 in August last year. Great post.

Damn these storms.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 23, 2014 -> 02:04 PM) Look, Robin has made a lions share of mistakes, but your hindsight saying that he should walk Prado to load the bases with one out in a 1-1 game is wrong. Ya, that's pretty dumb esp. when you consider lefties hit Carroll better than righties and Headley was on deck.

Gotta be Adams today.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 23, 2014 -> 01:41 AM) I think the bullpen has been so bad and the defense so spotty the team finally has tossed in the towel. They gave .500 a run for a while but by the end of the season we won't remember that. The record is gonna be scary bad. Surprised this is still up. I don't think the team has thrown in the towel, I just think we got to a real tough part of the schedule. Again, Sox final 49 games they only have 8 games against sub .500 teams and 3 of those sub .500 games are against the Rays. I wouldn't say the record will be "scary bad". Sox only need to win 4 more games to match last years win total, that's gonna happen. There's 34 games left...even if they go 10-20 in those games, that's a 10 game increase from last year.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 23, 2014 -> 12:32 AM) At this point, anything's better than watching Danks, DeAza and Viciedo. I wouldn't mind Sierra or Taylor, either. We already know what we have in the first 3. Yes, he's made a few bonehead mistakes, but the dude is one of the few guys hitting these days. .333/.390/.426 in August. He's up to a .282/.360/.413 split vs RHP this year.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Aug 23, 2014 -> 12:12 AM) Great point. He's immune from criticism. It's all cliche. For some reason he's regarded as a genius. He's done a great job with Webb (sarcasm) and Lindstrom (sarcasm) and Bella. I think we all knew at some point the Sox would turn to s***. The time is here. Does anybody on here think we will finish ahead of Minnie and Boston for that matter record wise? Remaining schedule is tough as s*** so I wouldn't be surprised. Matter a fact going back to August 7th the Sox only play 8 of 49 vs sub .500 teams...3 of those are the Rays who are just 2 under and are 11 games over since July 1st. Hell, Astros have been playing decent ball this month so they could leap frog us as well. Wouldn't shock me if this team ends up in the bottom 5 at the end of the year.

QUOTE (1dog @ Aug 22, 2014 -> 11:52 PM) So it's ok to showcase the fact that you have no idea how to manage a ballclub, until the point that team has players that are actually good enough to win something significant. After he continues to make the same mistakes with those good players, costing them games, and thereby wrecking that team's chances to win a potential World Series - then it's ok to let him go. Yeah, that makes sense. In fact, it's very much in line with the rest of your thoughts you've posted this year. Yup makes sense. Gotta give the man a chance to succeed with good players. I think the FO agrees with this line of thinking seeing as they extended him after a 99 loss season. Since tomorrow Joe Torre gets inducted into the Yankees HoF I'll bring up the fact that Joe Torre in his first 5 seasons had a win% of .400....In his 15 years of managing before coming to the yankees, his teams finished above .500 just 5 times....After 15 years did he just all of sudden become a good manager??? Or did he just inherit a really good group of players? At the end of the day a manager will look as good as his team....Period.
