  1. theres going to be a showdown somewhere down the road should iran actually fund hamas to that extent.
  2. what is the big problem here? this is a private commerical deal for the right to manage 6 ports in the US. our customs and coast guard still are there to enforce the law. the company apparently checks out. its outright discrimination to prohibit contracts with middle eastern countries while we have contracts of this sort in all sorts of industries with all sorts of countries.
  3. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Feb 21, 2006 -> 06:42 PM) Where did I excuse anything? The question was asked how San Fransisco would elect a guy who says the US shouldn't have a military. My answer was - because San Fransisco city administrators don't run militaries. "can you define the word 'the'"? talk about splitting hairs. and guess who said that quote.
  4. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Feb 21, 2006 -> 05:23 PM) Not defending, just saying. A City Supervisor doesn't deal with the Military - so its a fair bet that in a municipal election things like the Iraq war don't really come up. and that excuses his idiotic statement how? he's still a public official...
  5. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Feb 21, 2006 -> 04:30 PM) How often is such a scenario going to occur in which a mothers only chance for survival is for their baby to be aborted? It doesn't even make sense, as I gather the argument presented earlier in this thread. If the babies removal is necessary because of the mother's health, why kill it? hmm...to save the mother? wait, do you think that a baby can be removed from the womb and kept alive if doctors wanted to do it? i think they can to a certain point from the beginning of the pregnancy. they always keep those babies alive, of course, if they can. it would be murder to take it out back and throw it in the dumpster. what about abortions where you know it will be detrimental to the mother, before the baby could be saved, like in the 1st trimester? or an incest baby?
  6. QUOTE(kevin57 @ Feb 20, 2006 -> 11:19 PM) I have liked McCain on a lot of issues. He's had the guts to stand up to politics as usual, but on a couple of issues he completely baffles me. Immigration is one of those issues. well he does have a huge hispanic population to pander to. coincidentally, the arizona state legislature has voted to pay for the national guard to patrol the border. the house passed it and its going to the senate last i heard: http://www.tucsoncitizen.com/news/local/02...a4_bordertroops
  7. dont underestimate alito. all signs point to him and roberts swinging this court. if they dont eventually ban abortions except for when there is health reasons or incest, etc. i will be extremely suprised.
  8. QUOTE(Cknolls @ Feb 21, 2006 -> 04:16 PM) How much does a bullet cost? they used to literally do that in the soviet union. if you were sentenced to death, you were shot in a room behind the court chamber immediatly after being sentenced with a single bullet behind the ear. then your family was billed for the bullet. supposedly, that still occurs in china today, though i havent heard that much about it in a while. no, in the US, its the legal fees that end up making the carrying-out of a death sentence so astronomically expensive. my previous post which is probably right above this says why.
  9. QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ Feb 21, 2006 -> 05:02 AM) Doesnt it cost just as much money to put a guy to death as life in prison does? when you are on death row, you get a mandatory three appeals, which can sometimes account for the twenty year wait until the bastard is put down. that is the sole reason why it costs more money right now to put someone to death than it does to put them in prison for the rest of their life. when it is calculated, they are figuring in lawyer's fees (on both sides) and court costs, which in a death penalty case, are frickin' huge. its definetly something they ought to change. interestingly, when timothy mcveigh was on death row, he wanted to waive his three mandatory appeals and just die. no prisoner had ever done this before, and they made him go through the motions (HUGE waste of money) even though he didnt want to appeal his death sentence. its just my opinion, but i think the benefits outweigh the costs despite the legal $$ that ends up costing taxpayers more to put someone down instead of put them in prison forever. the system needs to be improved, but honestly, what system doesnt? some crimes merit the offender being killed- thats why i support the death penalty.
  10. QUOTE(Rex Kickass @ Feb 21, 2006 -> 03:00 PM) Maybe because City Supervisors don't have to run the military? ha! you are trying to defend that moron? c'mon man!
  11. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 21, 2006 -> 04:37 AM) Hot. Not. Poor Britney. she looks like s*** in that not hot photo.

  13. ID is a cop out. go hard or go home, baby.
  14. QUOTE(Texsox @ Feb 20, 2006 -> 01:02 PM) George Washington Trivia Time As a farmer, he grew marijuana and was America's only Founding Father to free his slaves. On the night he died, his doctor friend tried to bring him back to life in a most bizarre manner. As a politician, he was the only president-elect to win a unanimous vote of the Electoral College. 15. QUOTE(jasonxctf @ Feb 20, 2006 -> 12:55 PM) i think the biggest problem is here is that many people are forgeting what the United Nations was designed to do. It's not designed to promote American causes around the world. You gotta take the good with the bad. If we start thinking that our opinions, goals, ideals, etc are more important than those of Europe, Asia, etc... we are in for some big problems. ideally you are right. thats kinda niave (sp?) though. in reality, the point of our country sending an ambassador is to promote OUR interests. so, if you want a bumper sticker saying for it, "f*** everybody else". other countries have the same mentality. china, england, russia, blah blah blah.
  16. QUOTE(kyyle23 @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 07:47 PM) No, responding to posts at a later date is fine. But your response was rather lame and after the fact, so I pointed it out. i know man. you rule.
  17. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Feb 17, 2006 -> 11:55 AM) I say...give him a chance...in the front office. me too. i thought he had retired a few years back. i gotta tip my hat to him for such a long career. most dont last that long. nah, pass on signing him. i always liked alverez though.
  18. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 10:03 PM) I'd like to see him get one fewer than Babe Ruth's HR record, than have pitchers simply refuse to pitch him anything the remainder of the year. He'd cry racism, and we'd all have a good laugh. that would be the awesomest thing ever i hate you barry bonds
  19. QUOTE(jackie hayes @ Feb 18, 2006 -> 10:26 PM) Clemens threw nothing but high fastballs. Don't minimize Sammy's abilities -- he had a million different ways of striking out. very good point.
  20. i remember daulton hitting a sweet ground rule double down the right feild line in an old NLCS against the braves (kruk was a phil at the time too). what the hell, darren??
  21. QUOTE(greasywheels121 @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 07:22 PM) The quote wasn't real. You make all these cute nicknames and fabricate all this stuff. For example, that Timo story from a couple weeks back. It's hard to believe if you'd have an opinion on anything if Rotoworld didn't exist. s***. disregard my post above this one. whos bright idea to fabricate a post? that was s***ty. i hate bonds. if he breaks the record, damn will it be a shame.
  22. QUOTE(SSH2005 @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 06:59 PM) Barry's real comments: jesus, thats an open admission of steroid use. if he ever gets into the hall of fame, i will seriously cry.
  23. QUOTE(minors @ Feb 19, 2006 -> 09:24 PM) It is about time I think if this doesn't work the US should pull out of the UN they already drew their line in the sand by siding with Germany and France. Those countries most notably France are nothing but scum. ah but then we would lose our position as one of the big 7, and would lose our power to veto anything passed by the assembly.
