  1. Yea, Stone brings cred back to the sox booth and i like the mutual respect they both have for one another.
  2. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Apr 8, 2009 -> 04:31 PM) Nice screen grabs. no problem, just thought they could be important to the discussion, i must say i love the video quality on mlb.com and skitch!
  3. game predictions: floyd flirts with a no-no into the 8th with 3BB Josh fields with two HR, Carlos with a HBP
  4. Fields CQ I see josh keeping his hads closer to his head and staying closed more, while Carlos is the converse of that. Either way it would be wonderful if lasic and a healed knee would allow Josh to break out in a big way, id love to see double digit steals
  5. QUOTE (JDsDirtySox @ Apr 7, 2009 -> 09:20 PM) Charged with threatening to kill his wife. Rumored to have impregnated a 17 year old. and now has a special assistant that goes everywhere with him to make sure he stays out of trouble. Do you know who else has a special assistant that goes everywhere with him? One Mr. Hamilton. Now i know hes repented and hes been clean for a while; but hes just as likely to falter as dukes. People grow up and mature and if the price is right to acquire Dukes sign me up, if he has an assiant and is activley seaking help i think thats great, that the baseball world might be able to see his talent shine. Lastly since dukes has been in WAS i havent heard or read a single bad thing about him, seems like hes been a team player.
  6. QUOTE (GREEDY @ Apr 7, 2009 -> 09:04 PM) Elijah Dukes for Adam Russell etc. is laughable. The Nats would start with Poreda... start with Poreda. He is 24 and posted an .860 OPS in '08. He is a legit 30/30 candidate. I'd trade ANY of our minor league talent outside of Beckham for him. Yep. Yeah, i wouldnt be against trying to get Dukes if he came at a reasonable price, Shelby and Poreda, Poreda and PTBNL(Dexter/Carter) Just because hes some issues shouldnt deterent us from getting the best possible talent we can. Ideally id prefer KW go get Willits or Blanco on the cheap, if for nothing else they'd be a huge upgrade over what we have now; possibly they pan out at league average and if not you've got a nice looking 4th OF keeping the spot warm for Danks or Shelby in the not too distant future.
  7. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 7, 2009 -> 06:43 PM) Wasn't the play he made today going to his right? sorry about that i was thinking from where i was sitting, you are correct
  8. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Apr 7, 2009 -> 03:45 PM) 800 career games played for Joe and not a single bunt hit. If third basemen are going to play Josh back like Gordon did today, it's nice to know that Josh is willing and capable of dropping down a bunt and beating it out with that good speed of his. And post 2006 Crede could NEVER make the play Josh did on the throw home. +1 I've always felt that josh is exceptional going to his left even the times i saw him down at AAA, its the routine plays and ranging to his right that hes going to strugle with. I feel the routine play errors will come down in time with more ML experience, as for ranging to his right, lets hope Alexei or Slayer can pick him up in the future. All in all, I really like the package that Fields brings to the table, now that his knee is healed, i think hes capable of stealing 15-20 bags this year and doing the little things on the bases.
  9. i was at the game in the lower bowl (sec 127 row 27) and it felt like everyone down there was calling for his head and screaming for anderson; and rightfully so Anderson could just as easily look as bad as wise and have a significant upside in CF and with the bat. Regardless of wise or anderson neither of them should be hitting lead off. Getz and Fields or Getz and Ramirez or bust.

  11. QUOTE (DBAHO @ Apr 1, 2009 -> 03:25 PM) Reggie Willits or Gregor Blanco provide a much better option if you're looking for an upgrade that you wouldn't have to give up a big time prospect for. +1 I still have faith in Reggie, so far this spring .278/.395/.361 in 36ABs as for Blanco .174/.269/.304 in 23 AB this spring obviously small sample sizes but over their careers thus far Willits .273/.379/.319 good for a 698 OPS in 583 career ABs Blanco .251/.366/.309 good for a 675 OPS in 430 career ABs Blanco is two years younger i think both are significantly better than wise and his line of .214/.254/.385 OPS of 639 but as wise said I'll be quite honest i think his readiness level should easily add another 111 points of OPS to put him at a solid .750 but thats just ones observers opinion. KW go get Willits if he performs at his career line he'll make a fine 4th OF but because of his average, and OBP, propensity for stealing bases, bunting, grinding it out etc and overall being white, he'll suffice for now in CF, also hes at least average out there defensively. Mr. Link your plane is now boarding for LA.
  12. really diggin it, love the kill bill play

  15. QUOTE (kane0730 @ Mar 25, 2009 -> 04:04 PM) What's the 411 on this Williams pitcher? Any chance he'll end up in Chicago in the future? +1 im curious as to what the book on him is
  16. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Mar 25, 2009 -> 03:59 PM) And they were both well hit too, which is nice yeah i just hope the sox can keep that mindset when we actually start the season. Im liking what im seeing out of this lineup
