QUOTE (hi8is @ Jun 20, 2016 -> 01:17 AM) If Sales being traded I want Giolito and Turner from Washington as a starting point. If we're talking Boston, I want their top three in Moncada, Devers, and Benintendi -- plus two more lower level SP prospects. Sales trade value and his contract should bring an unprecedented return. I agree he is under control for the next three years and is the nearest thing to Kershaw and only going to make 38m from 17-19. His return should be unprecedented.

QUOTE (hi8is @ Jun 19, 2016 -> 02:44 PM) Ok, Q for one of those two and supplement either of the omitted for a 1B or CF in the draft or in FA. You've also got other trade chips on Jones and Robertson who could help bring in a good fit for one of those two spots. Honestly Q is super valuable but to land Moncada++ its going to take something like Sale + Jones. That should get you the majority of their upper level prospects and a "throw in" or two. I could see a package like this Trade Chris Sale & Jones to the Red Sox for C Blake Swihart, 2B Yoan Moncada, OF Andrew Benintendi, RHP Anderson Espinoza, LHP Kyle Martin & 3B Pablo Sandoval with Boston picking up 48.5 of his remaining 57 mil including his buy out. If the sox are going to have a fire sale there going to need someone to play 1B and maybe they can get Sandoval to re-establish some of his value, they'd be responsible for 8.5 over 2 years, with the option to exercise the club 17m option if he turns it around. He needs to roughly be worth 1WAR over the course of 2 seasons.

If Almora reaches his ceiling the cubs could be looking at a right handed Mark Kotsay in center field. Willson Contreras could be something very special as well if he puts it all together. The Cubs plethora of young talent is something out of this world, by this time next year they could conceivably[rightfully] be sporting an all-star team across the diamond. I think they re-sign Fowler and move Schwarber/Soler/Vogelbach as they still have McKinney and Happ among many others.

QUOTE (PolishPrince34 @ Jun 10, 2016 -> 12:50 PM) San Francisco have gotten themselves two steals: Reynolds in Round 2 and now Heath Quinn OF. Nice draft and they didn't have a 1st round pick. Agreed and they've shown a propensity for scouting and developing college hitting: Posey (ok first round sure and a given), Belt (5th round), Crawford (4th round), Panik (1st round 29th overall), Duffy (18th round), and Reynolds should be up quickly super advanced solid tools across the board but no stand out tool and Quinn just screams prototypical corner outfield bat. If one of Reynolds or Quinn makes it the Giants are in great condition, especially as they continue to lock up their offensive core. -

how much underslot do you think all three picks day one will go? -
QUOTE (DirtySox @ Jun 7, 2016 -> 05:14 PM) I would be very happy with that. I think Bryan Reynolds is being overlooked. Speas is my favorite of the second tier prep arms as well. I agree Reynolds in a fair number of mocks is still there at #26 and Speas is also my favorite prep arm that could be there at #49, live arm that needs a fair amount of development that should fit in with the sox development program.

#10 - Ray[Lotto Scenario] / Collins #26 - Sheffield / Lux / Bryan Reynolds #49 - Speas something like that and i'll be extremely happy.

QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ May 26, 2016 -> 07:58 PM) And he needs to continue having those nights to deserve a call up. for may hes put up this line .376/.422/.515 with 3HR and 6SB and a 7BB% / 17K% before tonight, after super 2 he'll be up. Hahn has made it clear everything is in play and all hands are on deck.

no, but if continues his ways at AAA soon after the super 2 deadline.

QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ May 23, 2016 -> 12:40 PM) Ehh. I think I would when you consider he was the slam dunk #1 pick for so long and even leading up the draft I feel like we were all getting used to the idea of Tyler Kolek or Aaron Nola. I agree, fan bases were calling the #1 pick the #roadtorodon he likely suffered from draft fatigue where everyone and their mom knew he was going to go #1 overall that the astros just had to be contrarians.

QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ May 20, 2016 -> 04:04 PM) Latest MLB.com mock is out http://m.mlb.com/news/article/179142756/aj...picid=151437456 If at 26 Bryan Reynolds still isn't off the board and they've taken Collins it wouldn't surprise me to make that pick. Leaving picks 49 & 86 for the likes of Matt Krook and Ben Bowden

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 18, 2016 -> 12:57 AM) Vizcaino can bring it. Has a Top 10 average velocity for MLB relievers and would fit with Nate Jones quite well in the set-up role. Right now, we have a huge issue with Duke scuffling and Albers falling back to reality. There's no clear 7th inning guy. But is Hahn willing to trade Fulmer this early? And add a much more expensive starting pitcher in Teheran when he was projected the much more affordable Carson in the rotation at some point next year. I believe so, Hahn had the following to say recently: “It would be too good of an opportunity to squander to not try to do everything in our power to put the club in a position where Chris Sale, [Jose] Quintana, [Carlos] Rodon and others get to perform on the biggest stage in October,”. With the draft coming up quickly and the ability to replace Fulmer with another high pick and replenish what we would likely need to give up to get a young cost controlled #3 and a 7th/8th inning set up man. to push Albers and Duke back further. Additionally after this year the sox payroll is sitting at 73.5M before ARB next year with a few pieces to fill in; namely 5th starter, C and CF provided Avi is for real. Outside of 5th starter/bullpen I'd like the sox to target Chris Herrmann & Andres Blanco from the d-backs and phillies if they fall out of it, great pieces that crush righties that would be a welcome addition to the bench. Blanco is an older utility man and Herrman is a corner outfielder 3rd string catcher.

QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ May 17, 2016 -> 07:32 PM) http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2016/05/17/lev...-pitching-deal/ Sox looking for pitching. Both starters and relievers. Go get Julio Teheran & Arodys Vizcaino from the braves; we would likely have to give up Fulmer++ Teheran is only 25 and here is his following contract: 2017: $6.3M, 2018: $8M, 2019: $11M 2020 Option: $12M $1M buy out Vizcaino is ARB eligible starting next year. fits with the core and the timeline.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ May 13, 2016 -> 10:00 PM) The thing about our roster is that defensively its pretty amazing in the positions that arent hitting great. If anything we need a sweet pinch hitter in the Matt Stairs mold. OUr defense is whats carrying this team and removing someone like Jackson or Rollins is just not going to help The sox to me provided Avi is for real, should focus on acquiring someone like Andres Blanco who crushes right handed pitching to pair with Rollins at SS and another left handed 4th outfielder defensive type. In addition to a possible 5th starter.

I'm in galway ireland woke up at the top of the 8th got to see all the drama. Odor is a dirty f***ing player, in chicago he screened lawrie, pushed someones hand off the bag on a steal and now this, book it sox staff is putting one in his ribs before this series is over.

QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 4, 2016 -> 12:25 AM) Sox have to wait another month for more AL teams to sink. I dont think the Marines and A's will still be seeing themselves as contenders June 4th, and the Yankees are quickly approaching "abandon ship" mode. Those are three very interesting rosters the Sox can pillage. Tanaka & Tex or Beltran take this team a long way in a short time. Masahiro has a full no trade and a sizable commitment going forward [16-19: $22M, 20: $23M], but KW does always seem to get his man. Tanaka is the six months older than Sale and would fit this teams window like a glove. Sale Quintana Tanaka Rodon all under control for the next 3 years.
-
QUOTE (Alexeihyeess @ May 3, 2016 -> 06:44 PM) I'd rather have Tanaka... KEEP LOSING YANKS Anyone not named Tim Anderson in the farm would be on the table.
-
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 4, 2016 -> 12:09 AM) Rollins is in negative WAR territory...hope they're patient with Anderson, unless they absolutely feel he's 100% ready to deal with the pressure of a pennant race. Otherwise, the three-headed monster of Rollins, Saladino and Sanchez, at least temporarily. I agree, let him get his feet wet and deal with pitchers throwing junk off the plate at AAA. I would like to see Sanchez or Saladino get a fair shake at SS over the next 15-20 or so. Leave Rollins to play against LHP since he crushes that and late game base running etc.
