b. Tie among three teams. If the tied teams have identical records against each other, the League President shall supervise a draw which results in the tied teams being designated the A, B and C teams. Winner chooses designation as A, B or C team and loser chooses from remaining choices; Team 1 has better record against Team 2, Team 2 has better record against Team 3, and Team 3 has better record against Team 1: Rank teams on the basis of overall winning percentage within the three-team group; team(s) with higher percentages select designation as A, B or C teams(s); when two or more teams tied in overall winning percentage, League President supervises draw between teams so tied. that is what i came up with. i think the winner of game one and team C get the births depending on what they do in the second game. but then again is team c loses they might play the loser of game one. i really don;t know.

i like anderson/thome more than rowand/thomas. and wouldn't change anything we did in the offseason. but i hope the a's come in 2nd in the AL. and postseason stats don't count to career stats do they? i wouldn't think so but i don't know.

i agree that I think the fake 3rd to FAKE first should be a balk. just on that fact that a pitcher cannot fake a pick off throw to first in the first place. but not fake third to first. but the reason it isn't is because the rules say that the pitcher does not need to throw to 2nd or 3rd when he steps directly to the bag. but he has to to first. but since usually a pitcher doing the 3rd to first move step offs the rubber during the fake to 3rd portion, the pitcher is no longer in contact with the rubber, thus technically, an infielder. but a quick move where the pitcher does not step off the rubber when faking to 3rd, is a balk. I found it interesting that this play was detailed in the rules.

If both Paulie and Thome are no goes for this game who do we DH? What is our line-up going to look like? How about: Ozuna - DH Iguchi - 2B Dye - RF Crede - 3B (he owns the Royals, esp. at the K) AJ - C Mack - LF Gload - 1B Uribe/Cintron - SS Anderson - CF or if we want to get crazy... Ozuna - LF Cintron - 2B Dye - RF Crede - 3B AJ - C Iguchi - DH Gload - 1B Uribe - SS Anderson - CF I know Pods will more than likely be in left but I like those two line-ups if Thome and Konerko are out.

Ok since this is the first Vazquez topic I found, Some interesting comments by Scott Merkin in his mlb.com wrap of the game tonight (8/1): Does this mean we will see the stratedgy used with Vazquez as well??? Is Ozzie reading soxtalk.com?? Or am I just being to optimistic?

glad to see a win but it is only against the royals here guys. we need to keep this up though.

didn't read the whole thread but my general thought is.. if you are voting on a candidate just because they are from part X then you shouldn't have the right to vote. ok thats a little harsh, but you shouldn't be voting in that particular race.

why not move garcia to the pen and just go with 4 starters. put a pitch count of 80 on your starters and see what that gives you. gives you an extra arm in the pen without giving up a roster spot for a bench player. or you can just pull vaz after 5 like a normal person would do.
