Vaccination-Autism Study Shown to be Fraudulent
CrimsonWeltall replied to HuskyCaucasian's topic in The Filibuster
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jan 7, 2011 -> 05:59 PM) The issue we're going to have here is that her "search for answers" has helped harm and likely kill dozens, potentially hundreds, potentially thousands of people. A lot of them other people's children. This. Jenny McCarthy continually lies about vaccines and vaccine safety to promote herself. She has no intellectual honesty whatsoever. -
Vaccination-Autism Study Shown to be Fraudulent

No evidence can ever convince a conspiracy theorist. This is just more evidence of Big Pharma trying to attack brave Andrew Wakefield, the only doctor in the world who actually cares about autistic children. -
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jan 6, 2011 -> 02:59 PM) . His answer is the same to both - the Constitution doesn't say one way or the other, so judges shouldn't just make something up to say that it does. If that's what our society wants, pass a law that provides for that. But that's not his answer. Scalia said the 1A is not limited to people only. That's why he voted the way he did in Citizens United - to overturn a law that was passed. That being said, I'm not sure he's being inconsistent here.

QUOTE (La Marr Hoyt HOF @ Jan 5, 2011 -> 11:20 PM) ^^^ Absolutely this ^^^ Jack Morris was THE dominant AL starter from the 80s. More importantly, Burt just getting the love because he's been campaigning as a member of the media and is viewed as Mr. Nice Guy. Lame Being too young to remember 80s baseball well, if Jack Morris was THE dominant AL starter, why are his numbers so mediocre? A career ERA+ of only 105? Yikes. It's not like he has a bunch of monster Koufax/Pedro seasons mixed in there either. -
North Carolina...too cloudy. Lame.

QUOTE (iamshack @ Dec 19, 2010 -> 06:02 PM) I thought the ending was kind of bs, but Denzel is great in everything he does. The ending ruined the whole movie for me.

QUOTE (nitetrain8601 @ Dec 7, 2010 -> 04:30 PM) Disagreed. They didn't get the support. And yes, if my favorite team was about to leave the city, I would show up at the very least to see their last games in my city, especially if there is nothing else in the city to do. Support was irrelevant. Bennett never had any intention of keeping the team in Seattle. I think it's a lot easier to say you'd show up to see their last games than to do it. It's probably pretty hard to imagine how bitter you'd be in that situation.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Dec 3, 2010 -> 09:05 PM) With the Jimmy V Classic coming up and the fact I have family members battling cancer made me wonder if you guys agree with conspiracy theorists who believe scientists/experts/medical personnel across the world are not trying to find cures for cancer. Almost every family has lost somebody to cancer. And yet no cure?? Conspiracy theorists would say there's so much money to be made by the medical community that it'd be a distaster financially to cure this horrid piece of s*** disease. Tell me there is no conspiracy and the medical community is really trying to cure cancer. You tell me why with all this money being raised yearly there's no cure in site????? A "cure for cancer" isn't much more meaningful than a "cure for virus". There are a lot different kinds of cancers and there are treatments of varying efficacy for many of them (surgery, chemo, radiation).

QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Nov 30, 2010 -> 03:34 PM) Dear idiot driving 5MPH under the speed limit in the left lane, MOVE THE HELL OVER! Sincerely, the 20 drivers that were forced to pass you on the right. Dear Angry Driver Behind Me, I cannot move over because the other lane also contains a car going 5mph under the speed limit. Sincerely, Slow North Carolina Driver

$130/month for individual BCBS health+dental since losing health benefits from work. I was paying $110/month with my company spotting over $600/month...for worse coverage than I have now. That's why I passed on COBRA.

QUOTE (T R U @ Nov 8, 2010 -> 10:05 AM) I disagree with that.. go look at Oklahomas schedule that year, they weren't that great.. and even so Boise had to pull everything out of their ass to win that game and congrats to them.. Alabama was undefeated and lost their chance to play for a National Title in the SEC title game, they clearly didn't wanna be in that Sugar Bowl against Utah.. What im talking about is the Hawaii/Georgia Sugar Bowl.. I wanna see Boise State or TCU play a school like that.. I don't wanna see them play eachother, and I don't wanna see them play the scrub Big East school that makes it.. If they beat a BCS school: WHATEVER. That school wasn't that good anyway. If they lose to a BCS school: SEE? They can't play with the big boys. -
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Nov 3, 2010 -> 12:36 AM) How is that? The argument is that your boss can tell you that when you show up the next day, you better have a slip showing you voted for His Favorite Candidate.

QUOTE (daggins @ Oct 31, 2010 -> 01:43 AM) Of course Norman Bates has no idea how to use a knife. He's a nebbish-y mamas boy from the sticks. and she is dancing, in a sense, to try to avoid the stabs. I don't know how it could be "acted" better. The editing is a marvel. What I was saying is that his 'stabs' look really awkward. Leigh's turn-in-a-circle-in-one-place hokey-pokey doesn't seem like much of a defense and it comes across rather silly that she's able to do so after already receiving a half dozen full stabs. I thought it was pretty self-explanatory. The scene is considered one of the best in movie history, despite, IMO, not being the least bit scary or realistic.

QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Oct 30, 2010 -> 02:39 PM) What do you want full frontal nudity, in vivid color with lotsa blood spurting all over the place? That would make it "better"? How about something that doesn't look like it was acted by kids in a middle school play? Stabbing motions done by someone who looks like they've held a knife before? A victim who isn't dancing? The music is about the only thing that gives that scene any intensity.

QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Oct 30, 2010 -> 01:49 AM) I was 10. I saw it at the theater when it came out in 1960. My friend and I went to the theater like we often did on Saturday afternoons. We didn't have a clue what we were about to see. Scared the s*** out of me. As for the shower scene being "overrated" that's the dumbest thing I've heard in a long time, sorry. It's been studied in film classes for decades for it's editing. Psycho was original and groundbreaking and in 1960 considering films at the time and prior to, was totally shocking. Saying that it was original for 1960 hardly counters the argument that it's incredibly lame by today's standards.
-
The Psycho shower scene has to be one of the most overrated scenes in movie history. It's incredibly awkward and Janet Leigh looks like she's dancing through the latter half of the attack. I really find it difficult to believe anyone would be scared by it.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Oct 19, 2010 -> 07:19 PM) No. There are plenty of conservative Christians who see no "separation of church and state" in the Constitution and think the only way to violate the 1st amendment is to establish a state religion i.e. the Anglican church. They believe the country was founded by like-minded evangelicals who injected Christianity all throughout the government and that it's evil secular liberalism that has stripped it away. They would welcome theocracy (or at least quasi-theocracy) with open arms, as long as it was the right religion. Hell, it wasn't that long ago that we had a President saying atheists shouldn't be considered citizens. I would have expected her to cough up some argument about how the Establishment Clause is just a ban on a 'national religion' or some such nonsense, but she genuinely didn't seem to know the clause is even IN the 1st Amendment.
