Welcome to last place...
QUOTE(greg775 @ Aug 24, 2007 -> 11:00 PM) This team is pretty darn bad. This begs the question. What's the worst team in "modern" Sox history? Please name the team and give me names of some players on that team. I wonder if at this point of the season this team could beat that team. We've been spoiled really. This team has been over 500(or damn close to it) many more times than not. Of course that isn't the barometer for success but it sure feels a hell of a lot better to win more than lose, day in, day out, regardless.

What's with AJ?
I don't really blame scotty though.

What's with AJ?
QUOTE(fathom @ Aug 24, 2007 -> 03:04 PM) If you want to talk about people not doing their job, has anyone stolen more money the last two years than Don Cooper? Joe Crede? Waited for the season to start then had surgery. Scott podsednik? can't stay on the field. Jose Contreras? total bum.

Sox Sweep KC-Game Starts at 1:05
Contreras really tips his pitches. Every time he is going to throw a fork ball you can see him smash the ball into his hand.

Random Sox thoughts
I don't think you fully grasp the concept of 'potential.' There is really nothing to compare here. Yes, josh's numbers as a rookie are similar but a bit better than juan's career numbers. We all know that. Is there something else you are getting at? What is your motive for comparing the two?

Dye signs extension
Well he will definitely be in RF at least one of the two years. I'm not penciling him in at DH in 09 either, I think someone else will fill that void. So yes, I think its worth it.

Sox rotation in September
Personally, and I know nothing about beisbol, I think haegar would be a solid fifth starter in this rotation.

Bobby Jenks...
QUOTE(The Critic @ Aug 18, 2007 -> 09:02 PM) Not necessarily. They were down 6-0 when Bobby tied the record. OK, so we have to be at home or winning. Splitting hairs a little, but we are at home on monday.

Buehrle speaks love for Chitown
Everybody loves this damned(j/k) town, apparently. Dye(maybe to a lesser extent because of an off year), Kong, Buehrle . . . Zambrano.

Welcome to last place...
I think a lot of people here are happy about it. Not me. I don't really give a s*** about a top ten draft pick.

Will Paul Konerko pass Frank Thomas's Sox HR record?
No, not even close.
-
Sox rotation in September
He really wasn't that bad last night. He needs to have a few more starts so we can move him or properly evaluate him.

Sox vs. Mariners Gamethread 09/17/2007
Predictions? Does count pitch well for the first start since I can remember? Does he get shelled? Something between?

Sox and the A's 8/14 9:05 CT
I believe they said street is working his way back to closer from an injury.
-
Sox @ A's 8/15 9:05 CT - CSN
My subtitle would have been "Joe Blanton is a diseased whale". Nice and subtle.
-
Bobby Jenks...
I was thinking about bobby and oakland, the streak still alive, then I thought about Pods getting hit in the head, and bobby blowing the save. That was oakland, right? I can't get that image outta my head.

Position Switch
I can't believe the phillies are considering using iguchi at 3rd. Anything is possible I guess.

Sox and the A's 8/14 9:05 CT
Well, in hawk's defense that was total bulls***

Why is Steve Stone taking place of DJ right now
Listening to this game- I miss stone.

Cubs claim Podsednik; Pods still here (for now)
So if you avoid arbitration one year by resigning that player for a year, is he automatically arbitration eligible the next year?
-
Cubs claim Podsednik; Pods still here (for now)
I don't really want him on the team at that price. Right now, if I had to bet over-under on him playing 80 games next year*, I'd take the under. *assuming he was an everyday player

Cubs claim Podsednik; Pods still here (for now)
I could see paying scotty the same erstad made this year but not if you are going to sign both of them.

WHITE SOX WINNER
QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Aug 10, 2007 -> 10:30 PM) And...imagine if Riske goes Type A again this year like he did last year, and somehow we wind up with the 16th pick because of a few more down-the-stretch wins. Would you give up the 16th pick in the draft for Riske? I sure wouldn't. No, I definitely wouldn't.
-
WHITE SOX WINNER
I wouldn't mind seeing david riske back here.
