  1. F? They got a LF and a wife beater. I wonder what happened to all the trades Hahn was going to make.
  2. I often listen to the police scanner in my area. broadcastify .com for those interested. I live in the 18th district of Chicago. The amount of calls that go without a response or a delayed response for hours, would shock you. About a month ago, they had a domestic call, and no one went over there for at least 2 hours, and when they did, everyone was gone.
  3. I didn't renew. I forgot my rep's name during the season. He didn't send me one email for about a year, then like you, I started getting them almost daily. If I had only know they were building a bar with 8 seats to watch a game in a really bad section..............
  4. They emphasized they spent the same as they had spent on Carlos Rodon a year earlier.
  5. He was accused of beating the mother of his child and either spitting tobacco or throwing a wad of tobacco on his infant before he ever put on a White Sox uniform.
  6. You saw him drop a flyball on opening day.
  7. This day in Sox history, January 29th 2023, the White Sox did nothing.
  8. They can sell passes to a pre game parade followed by a chat with Rick Hahn. As Rick would say, another box checked.
  9. What I think will happen is Clevinger will be put on some sort of leave, he will get suspended eventually, who knows for how long. I would think not as long as Bauer not as short as Ozuna. When his suspension is over, the Sox will release him and try every legal mean possible not to give him a dime, which is perfectly acceptable to me. But you never know. The Braves have kept Ozuna around through a wife beating in front of cops and a DUI. But he has multiple years on the contract.
  10. Don’t each of those guys usually miss significant time during the season?
  11. Hahn should get Marcel Ozuna. He has wife beating and a DUI to his credit.
  12. I think it’s best they tell him to stay home until it’s figured out, if that is an option. His paychecks don’t start until after the season starts anyway, so that buys a little more time.
  13. Back to Clevinger, I was watching Chicago Tonight last night on WTTW. One of the guests is an anchor on WGN. He echoed what has been said here, even going so far on public tv to call the White Sox too cheap to vet Clevinger properly. He acknowledged this particular accusation might not have been attainable, but as been mentioned here, there’s a lot more out there. Then even the host of the WTTW program wondered why the Sox were not cutting ties with this guy. I’m guessing for financial reasons. We are only a couple of weeks from spring training report day. This has been going on since the summer with MLB, so you figure they won’t have a final judgement by then. Does he show up, or do they put him on the administrative leave?
  14. Think how much money they could make for charities if the had a JR, KW and RH dunk tank. All sitting together. I'd pay a lot per toss, and show up at a 35 degree game vs the Tigers in April if I had a shot of getting them wet.
  15. Instead of these worthless bars in the upper deck, build a dispensary/coffeeshop where fans can buy and use their weed. It's a win/win. Sox make more money, more fans can tolerate the product they put on the field by ingesting products into their bodies.
  16. I hope they have a plan for the rest of the pool other than selling it to get salary relief, but at least they signed 19 guys. Hopefully one or two will turn out very useful.
  17. Does the timing have anything to do with the Clevinger situation?
  18. Usually the first thing is these allegations are false, a total denial. This wasn't anything close to a denial. “We need to fairly and thoroughly protect our client and at the same time be respectful of the White Sox and MLB,” said Clevinger's agent, Seth Levinson in a statement provided to The Athletic And I guess by being respectful to the White Sox, that doesn't include giving them a heads up on the investigation until the contract is signed, and the accuser is going public.
  19. i think he's of the age and at the time in his career where travelling to call all these games is still fun. Most people who have had to travel for work initially thought it was pretty cool, but eventually thought it was a pain in the ass. I think in a few years Jason either goes the Joe Buck way where he does one game a week for a couple of sports, or eventually bags the football and basketball and does baseball full time with his winters off.
  20. I just don't know where they make their money back here. There are 8 seats in an undesirable location for most. They took out 8 rows of seats for this. They sell those for Cubs games and opening day. Do they really think they will make that up in beer sales there? There are other places to buy beer. I'm pretty sure the vast majority of games up until now, if you wanted to get a beer from a vendor or your nearest stand, and wanted to mosey down to section 516 to watch the game, there probably were seats open in the first couple of rows.
  21. The Sox initially had bigger plans for the bars when it applied for a building permit in September, but the bars were simplified afterward to meet the budget. Just like the roster. A recurring issue.
