  1. I think going on the IL is part of the new White Sox initiation program.
  2. Or it could be for Romy who basically has been used like a 5th OF.
  3. First off, what did this clown think he accomplished with this? Secondly, how does whoever is in charge of actually playing it go through with it?
  4. If Graveman gets out of this inning, think of the crap the Sox can send to the mound in the 8th and 9th.
  5. Are we still bowing to Hahn for getting Middleton?
  6. The Sox pick the wrong HS guys when going that route. Hawkins the big miss, but they shocked us all and picked a couple of HS pitchers a couple of years ago overshot, and they suck. And Noah Schultz already has arm problems.
  7. I was at the game and didn’t see a reply, but his last AB Eloy looked like he hurt himself again. Did a foul a ball off his nut bag?
  8. I just never realized how small he is. He isn’t an awful player, although might be in a couple of years. He just seemed so good in Boston. Now he’s a way more expensive, left handed OF version of Nick Madrigal.
  9. I agree with you Greg. The bullpen, especially without Hendriks, is a huge problem. Hahn has spent more money on it than anyone else, and it’s still a mess. Liam is great., but all the others he pays a real big wage are questions. Kelly blows. Graveman must have something wrong with him because he makes few appearances. Bummer looks decent, but another who apparently is on restriction. Diekman is a gas can, who really went out of style with the 3 batter rule. You can tell if he’s good or not that day with his first batter. If he’s not, you have to get him through 2 more. Lopez is potentially really good, but still goes through stretches where throwing strikes is an issue. And pretty much the rest of the bullpen would be AAA fodder for any other team that would try to call itself a contender. LaRussa was a huge problem, but RH thought just getting him out of there would fix everything. Wrong again. The bullpen has a 3 run lead and has to get 9 outs. And it’s not even close. I know firing Hahn and/or having KW resign might not change much. But it will change something, and something has needed to change for at least 15 years. How any of these guys see what they produced for “sustained” success, and not see they are not worthy of their positions anymore, is beyond me. At least with the Bulls, job for life holder Pax realized this with himself, and told the Reinsdorfs, would then had to make a change. Hahns prove yourself again quote shows he thinks he has already proven himself. And he has. He’s proven he’s a bad MLB GM. If he were to ever leave, the only job he would even have a slight shot at would be with a team like the Marlins or Pirates. Teams that never win, but might have a 1 in 20 chance of being interested in him because he might get their young players to sign extensions.
  10. Pedro's fascination with Diekman Wimmer result in another loss.
  11. Yes he did, but he had more than 13 months recovery time. Odds are Crochet will be a really decent pitcher at some point. I just don't think you can bank on it this season.
  12. Yes, but the vast majority had several more months before playing MLB than Crochet will have. The pitchers who did not tended to see their performance slip from previous levels. One guy who was similar timeline was Adam Wainright. He still was good when he came back but his ERA was 1.50 higher than before. The next season it dropped a run.
  13. I think anything better than Tanner Banks or Diekman is gravy for him this year. They were gushing about him in spring training. And will gush about him again when he's back. The fact of the matter is, if they are counting on anything but mediocrity from him this season, they are knuckleheads.
  14. Which is more concerning. You get the velo back but it normally takes a little time. What you do lose is command. Crochet's command was shaky before the surgery. When he comes back, it probably will not be even what it was for a while. Expecting much from him this season is not what true contenders do. It is what fake contenders do.
  15. If the White Sox schedule is tough and they can't win series against good teams, first, how are they going to make the playoffs. Second, what difference would it make if they can't win a series vs. a better team since the better teams are the ones in the playoffs.
  16. Go figure, the Sox are banking on a reliever a year from TJ to be one of their saviors. Do they look at the performance of most pitchers in that time frame after that surgery?
  17. You can blame the 3B all you want, but the Sox would have still been in a whole lot of trouble if he made the play. Runner on 3rd, 1 out, and a pitcher who doesn't strike people out much on the bump. The bad throw just helped up get to the inevitable quicker.
  18. Blackhawks announced they will not be re-signing Toews. Tonight is his final game as a Blackhawk.
  19. The other big problem with this roster is it needs some changing, but Hahn can't trade anybody. Remember, he tried adding at the deadline, but couldn't, and he was supposedly more disappointed than us. Then said trades were going to be the big thing during the offseason. When he couldn't do anything at the Winter Meetings, he gave us the old, coming weeks and months line, even saying trades could occur during spring training. Nothing. No one will give them any value for their players. It is what is always is with this regime. Hope for a miracle I doubt there is an executive in professional sports that deserves to lose his job based on performance more than Hahn. He makes Gar Forman and Phil Emery look at least average..
  20. I think it was time to move on, but coming to conclusions hes done after 30 or 40 ABs is crazy.
  21. This Duran is unreal. i don't know how many splitters that hard his arm will be able to handle, but he's going to be great for a short while.
  22. Any chance the Sox hit 2 balls fair this inning?
