  1. I don’t mind the jingle. I think Stacey King singing it spurred the rest who do on. If you can’t stand it, you know exactly when it’s coming. Hit mute for 4 or 5 seconds.
  2. I like the way you’re thinking here. Go get a real secondbaseman or let these guys battle.
  3. What happened to all the interesting trade ideas Hahn was speaking of a few weeks ago?
  4. Where they do get money is additional deals with Guaranteed Rate. For instance, GR is the "official" mortgage company of the White Sox. And they sponsor giveaways. Stuff like that.
  5. Yes, the White Sox don't collect on this. It makes no sense.
  6. The White Sox need good players, not crap. LaStella is crap.
  7. No way any White Sox can get back to what they were or what any of us hoped they were. But LaStella at age 34 is a prime candidate to snap back to his 2019 level. And his bad defense is just a statistical anomaly. Can’t be real. It’s only real if it’s bad and he’s a White Sox.
  8. The other good news is there will be more interleague games, and the White Sox have the 2nd best interleague record of all time.
  9. There's always room. You never have too much pitching. If they can't go on the DL or minor leagues, if they are good enough you are afraid to lose them, they should be tradeable.
  10. Letting Boegarts go for a draft pick wasn't good. JD Martinez gets you a lottery ticket at the deadline in 2022 wouldn't he? Looks like they have pissed off Devers. Trevor Story looks like a mistake. Verdugo looks mediocre. It isn't a good team, yet they spend cash on Jansen. It's reminding me of the 2009-2015 White Sox way.
  11. Maybe some of the Reinsdorf water carriers should notice his way doesn’t work.
  12. I really don’t know why people would think this is even a remote possibility. Chicago is the 3rd largest market in the country. The AL will not abandon it
  13. Yeah there is nothing more a new manager wants than the old failed manager around “helping” him out.
  14. If true, what an awful idea and slap in the face of your new manager.
  15. Here were last years projections, for what Fangraphs called the most accurate projection model. Notice the Astros had 0:5% higher chance of winning the World Series than the White Sox, and the Guardians had a 0.5% higher chance of winning the AL Central than the White Sox had of winning the WS. https://blogs.fangraphs.com/atc-2022-projected-standings-and-playoff-odds/
  16. He had 1 good season before the age of 36. This contract will push his career earnings to $75 million. Good for him. Most would have given up.
  17. As much as everyone was to blame Frank M. for it, I still think it was another TLR deal. Frank was the hitting coach when Stanton hit 59. I knw he was the hitting coach when the Marlins hit a lot of singles, but look at their roster. Tony was the guy who told Pujols to try to hit .300 instead of a ton of homers. It worked for him because he was a freak, and baseball was a little different. There are going to be guys that will be a lot better in 2023, but probably a couple that won't. Who knows exactly how it will turn out? Benin10d didn't exactly hit a ton of homers when coached by these guys. I also think the ball is going to be a bit more lively in 2023 But everyone has to admit the new staff seems head and shoulders above the last. Whether that means more wins, who. knows. But it was a better team when Tony left last year until Cleveland beat them at home in September and they just collapsed. If they stayed close, Cairo is probably a big league manager instead of a minor league roving instructor.
  18. The Phillies just made it into the WS. They wouldn’t have even made the playoffs in previous seasons. As long as you have 3 or 4 starters, and a decent bullpen capable of getting on a roll, you have a shot if you get invited. IMO, the 2020 White Sox were one playoff team with no shot at a title because they basically had 2 starters. I think the good news is if the White Sox make the playoffs enough of their players turned it around where even the current naysayers will then say , with one or two exceptions, they have a shot. The others will hold out because one team wins and they can play the chalk and say I told you so.
  19. I know you probably talk to AJ every day and he told you the exact reason he left and of course it’s because the White Sox are so terrible in every way and not worth the time and effort, even though you seem to spend hours a day telling us how everything they do is wrong. But maybe the White Sox told him he was going to be a slightly used back up, which really could have hindered his earning potential after 2023. To be honest, if it was me I still would have taken the $13 million. But that is one of many reasons he may have turned down the option. It doesn’t always have to be the White Sox are so terrible in every way…..
  20. Jason and Steve are at their best when the team is really good. They don't have to try to be stand up comedians. Steve doesnt have to rip Sox fans on Twitter who basically tweet the same things he at least hints of on the telecasts and radio appearances. They just discuss good baseball and have fun that way. They are much funnier when they don't try to fill 2 hours of the broadcast with a routine.
  21. People bitched about Hawk. Then the Sox brought in a guy whose style is exactly what they were clamoring. Now they b**** about him. It doesn't matter who is broadcasting Sox games, there is a certain faction that will say whoever it is sucks.
  22. So the Giants are going to flunk Correa on the physical but will be OK with Conforto.
  23. Jason is still doing the occasional Bulls game on NBCSC. I would imagine they will both be back. I think Stone told someone he was very close to signing, but he probably is waiting on Jason.
  24. How much can he realistically expect to play there? Curious signing iMO.
