  1. I don't know about that. I think most teams know who they are up against in free agency.
  2. I think he is now torn. If he spent money and stacked the roster this year, he runs the risk of not only eating into his profit, but making his buddy Tony look like an even bigger fool. I am sure JR still thinks he's right and everyone else is wrong, that Tony wins games managing.
  3. The Padres wanted to sign everybody. Did they even make this guy an offer? That would be a pretty good giveaway there is something oh so wrong here.
  4. I will give RH some credit, from the quotes it seems he doesn't want this guy around either.
  5. Someone should ask KW how this is any different from Brett Myers, a wife beater he traded for.
  6. MLB is going to emphasize the balk this year. Sounds like fun.
  7. You can't blame the players for playing down to their competition when the entire organization does the same thing.
  8. The length of the games should drop significantly this year. I think, since most concession stands have been closed up, beer sales have stopped, the teams couldn't care less how many people are in the stands for the 13th inning. The rule is there so they won't burn pitchers. If that's the case, why not do it in the postseason as well?
  9. Lose 25 lbs. gain muscle, in 4 weeks. OK, Sammy.
  10. This regime had Sale, Q, and Eaton to trade for the rebuild. Think how bad the rebuild would go without guys like that to trade. No Gio, no Cease, no Kopech, no Mocada, no Eloy, no Lopez. They can’t draft well. They don’t develop players well. Another rebuild would be a long disaster with the same dopes calling the shots.
  11. The one thing I really hate about it is who gets put on second. It could be a big advantage to some team all because a really fast guy made an out. While I understand extra innings aren't always that equal depending where you are in the line up, it seems odd to reward a team for an out. And if the rule is so great, why don't they include it in the playoffs. Pitching can be even more scarce then.
  12. What I don't understand is if they love this rule so much, how come they don't use it in the playoffs?
  13. The last thing JR was going to do is give the new manager more to play with than he did LaRussa. I'm sure JR wants to win, but I don't think he would be too sad if they were mediocre again, and he can, at least in his own mind, take any of the blame for the team getting mired in mediocrity again, away from Tony.
  14. I've never looked much aar Fangraphs write ups, but I give them praise in rge ZiPS projections. Even if I find their World Series chances for the Sox ludic, I do like their write up there, and previously basically calling the Whit Sox front office lazy.
  15. If Montgomery continues to look llike the reincarnation of Cory Seager, and the Sox struggle, TA is definitely trade bait. But if they are winning, I doubt they trade him.
  16. So he’s bragging he spent the money and the team is 81-81. How low can the bar go?
  17. Mired in Mediocrity, the Rick Hahn Story should be coming to bookstores soon. It will be 400 pages about nothing.
  18. While Rick Hahn had his second consecutive offseason so bad it’s hard to describe, and I don’t think the White Sox are a World Series contender by any stretch, this percentage is BS. I don’t know how you can possibly have the over under for wins they are sporting, and a 333 to 1 shot of a WS, especially in the division in which they play.
  19. The other thing is the Bulls, who print money, are so paranoid about the tax line, they will never be good enough to win regularly.
  20. Lonzo Ball is almost certainly out for the season. Is there really much hope for him next year? Seems to me, theres a decent chance he'll never be the same.
  21. Yeah, I really don't understand the Bulls seemingly hoping for a play in finish. But although 3 of them are nice, they have to be spaced apart, and will probably be middle of the pack at best, and all they get back is crap for the forseeable future. If the Bulls did this, it is a total money dump.
  22. No, they are very smart. Look at what is owed Lavine. Their bosses will love them.
  23. They are actually airing a Bulls deadline show with the pre game guys at 5:30 today on NBCSC. What are they going to talk about? It's going to be worse than the crap they normally show at that time.
  24. At least there is no LaRussa. I am bracing myself for the first few images of Camelback this spring seeing Tony in uniform, with a fresh coat of black Just For Men in his hair.
  25. To expect anything from him this year would not be wise. Maybe he comes back in June or July or August, but usually those guys are pretty diminished to start. Hope for him to be fully bounced back in 2024.
