  1. That's what Tony is saying. Does he realize he is managing the White Sox? Yermin has covered for a lot of his blunders this season. You would think he might have his back at least once.
  2. The fact that TLR takes the Twins side on trying to hit Yermin is puzzling to me. He seems to have no problem as long as it doesn't hit him in the head. What if he broke a hand? TLR is a punk.
  3. I don’t think that really matters with this team. Stone was mentioning the best clubhouse he was a part of was the Orioles and they all hated Earl Weaver.
  4. OK you can make the case he missed the take sign, but who is even paying attention to signs with a position player on the mound up 11? Tony left the dugout to put on a show for the Twins, but probably pissed off a few of his own players in the process. I don’t think it will lead to a losing streak, but this team seems it is going to be what it wants to be whether Tony likes it or not.
  5. Coming out of the dugout to show up your own player isn’t legit brother.
  6. Totally different. Baseball isn’t timed, and the scrubs still try. They run plays.
  7. It's probably the most productive .132 batting average of all time.
  8. But that is BS. In the bottom of the ninth, the Twins hitters were trying to get hits. Or were they just being disrespectful? There are unwritten rules that make sense, but any unwritten rule that basically tells you not to try is BS. People are paying a lot of money to watch you play. And how does his swinging at the pitch make the game longer? If he took it for a strike, or walked, the amount of pitches will be at least equal but most likely greater.
  9. If the game is to the point batters aren't allowed to swing, maybe they need a slaughter rule. Some say putting a position player on the mound is not respecting the game.
  10. If Mercedes isn't supposed to swing 3-0, why are the Twins allowed to try to get hits in the bottom of the 9th? The home run was meaningless, but it was far more fun to watch than taking a pitch.
  11. He doesn't say it on the telecast, only Twitter. So I give him no credit.
  12. Moncada has never seemed to me to really enjoy playing baseball. It often seems he would rather be doing anything else. But he has worked his ass off, and his talent is off the charts. I am glad he is on the team.
  13. Has nothing to do with his managing, but does anyone else notice where Tony spends the game managing? Where he is standing and with players sitting on the high bench, and Katz and some other coaches standing at the railing, there is no way he can see what is happening on most of the field. He must have a TV monitor or something.
  14. Bulls eliminated. Hope they get into the top 4.
  15. Throw one game out, his ERA is below 3.00. He will be fine.
  16. Why do you blame players if they are bad, but give Tony the credit if they are good? I don't like Tony, but I always figured he would run a game better than Renteria. So far, I don't see it. When Jerry Manuel used to make new line ups all the time, he was ripped as the "tinkerer" on this board. Tony always has a different line up. And IMO, he's been caught with his pants down too much so far. His top guys pitching in blowouts, and his lesser pitchers blowing up in close games. Maybe it will get better.
  17. That's fine and dandy but you manage a rebuilding team a lot different than you manage a contender. Also we do not know the status of his bullpen guys. He might have been trying to get Mize to fight through the inning for his development. Jerry Manuel used to get ripped for leaving Jon Garland in too long. Garland grew and got better, so when Ozzie left him him, the Ozzeroo was a genius. Besides, if you can't ever question LaRussa, how can you question Hinch? The Tony lovers don't even care if he doesn't know the rules.
  18. If Abreu is MVP quality with Renteria managing and below average with Tony, and it's not Tony's fault, why is it all because of Tony if guys play better? It's almost if you hate Tony, he is responsible for all the bad and none of the good. If you like him, he is the reason for all of the good and none of the bad. I think if they had Lynn and this version of Rodon last season, Ricky would probably still be managing the team. Not that it's not good that he is gone. I don't buy Andrew Vaughn gained valuable knowledge riding pine. That's BS, and even those that are trying to spin it, know it.
  19. Ricky made the playoffs with 2 starters. You rip managers and players all of the time. You're posts contradict each other all of the time, and you say others have no idea what they are talking about. It's really funny.
  20. Between this clown Giolito throwing 92-93, and the joke catching him, it is amazing the Sox aren't down at least 5.
