Machado do-over
He's doing pretty well on the road. His home numbers are driving him down. He's doing a lot worse there than he should. I wish the Sox had him. It's hard to pick up a talent like that at that age for only money, something they should have plenty. This team still needs a lot to go right. Considering the teams Rick Hahn has generally managed have never produced worse than the overall #11 pick, and with Sale, Eaton and Q to trade, you would think the depth would be a bit better. They should be at the point the 40 man could be difficult. But they still are loaded with guys who won't do jack and no one will remember they were even around 2 years from now.

Machado do-over
That is because he has been brutal at home. I think Guaranteed Rate would be a good place for him to hit. But I have thought that for just about everyone.,

Machado do-over
If he didn't flop and was a star, I'd rather have Moncada in RF than any of the free agents this year. The White Sox need a lot of offense. This isn't 2005 anymore.

Machado do-over
Machado at 3B and Moncada at 2B or the OF seems a lot better choice than what they have.

TA and Yoan have combined for 8.5 fWAR: is this the best young double play combo in Sox history?
Moncada is putting up an fWAR that the Boy Wonder put up with regularity. Hopefully it will become common for him as well. I think TA will come back to the pack a bit offensively moving forward, but do think he will figure out using good fundamentals, even if it's boring, is the way to go with routine plays, and save the flare for the spectacular, which will probably more than offset his drop in offense.
- James McCann - catcher of the future ?

Also, a 3B and SS aren't considered a DP combination.

White Sox final win total
PECOTA had them at 70 wins and Vegas at 74.5 before the season started. Looks like they are right at where projected.

9/17- Sox at Twins, 6:40, NBCSC
If you listen to White Sox telecasts, home runs for the opposition almost always get some juiced ball mention. When the Sox hit them, it's brut strength.

I don't think we can dump all this in Renteria's lap
Of course he doesn't have the horses to win, but unless his style changes with better players (Moncada attempting a bunt the other night sort of makes it seems like it wouldn't) what he is showing is he is not the guy you want guiding a stacked roster.

Game Thread - 09/12/19 - Royals @ Sox - Gio Day
It's one of the reasons I am not optimistic about next year. Even with the Moncada and TA breakouts, they are near the bottom of the league in OBP and slugging, and need a lot of pitching. Hard to turn all that around in one year. I know Kopech will be back, but how many guys hit the ground running immediately after TJS? Plus, it wasn't like he had things figured out when he went down.

I wonder how many players in major league history did have a batting average of .018 at any time during the season. I

How does a guy hitting eighteen bat 6th in a major league line up? He'll probably homer his next 3 ABs, but eighteen is his batting average.

2020 RF options
It seems it's Calhoun or one of Lillian's Japanese players.

Reinsdorf assures Ron that Abreu will always be a White Sox
Defensively, he is really good with pop ups and really good throwing to 2nd base on DP attempts. Everything else, he is horrific. But the bat isn't nearly as dead as some here have reported.

2020 RF options
It's Kole Calhoun. He's the odd man out with the Angels, and Stone was singing his praises last series. Calls him a big bat, GG quality fielder. A bit of a stretch but whatever.

Baseball Night Chicago Fact or fiction, Rick Hahn will make a major splash this offseason. Big Hurt: “fiction”

You should hire a lawyer.

JDM staying in Boston
If you are pinning your hopes on the White Sox signing JD Martinez, be prepared to be disappointed.

wilbur wood redux
And catchers can't catch them. Wakefield was probably the last of the big time knuckleball pitchers. He started. He closed. You would think with everyone having to be prepared to hit 95-100 gas, someone thowing about 65 and dancing would be effective. Think about how a closer throwing 100 would look after 2 or 3 looks at a knuckler.

Could the White Sox hire Dave Dombrowski?
Yes he did. He was fired by the Hawk.

Abreu
But you insist there is no such thing as clutch, or in other words pressure ABs. BTW< his best month by far over his career is August. It's really easy to look up.
