September Call Ups - Who gets the Nod?
Considering all the meaningless games the Sox play vs Det KC and Sea in September, I really don't see much baseball value in calling up Robert or Madrigal. If these guys are like Moncada or Eloy or any other recent Whitd Sox prospect, this month plus the first 2 weeks of next season isn't going to make or break their MLB performance in 2020.

Abreu “as valuable as anything” to Sox: Merkin
The claim that he is selling out for power is also curious, as he still has one of the lowest k rates on the team. The only players on the 2019 White Sox lower are Alonso and TA, each .3 % below, which is 3 more per 1;000. And Jon Jay.

9/1- Sox at Braves, 4:10, WGN
Imthe last 12 seasons, the White Sox have won more games in a season than the Tampa Bay Rays, once. Robin Ventura’s final year as the manager.

9/1- Sox at Braves, 4:10, WGN
This is the Braves 3rd or 4th rebuild since the late 80s. They have been below.500 six times since 1990.Rick Hahn is working on 7 for 7 below .500 as a GM.

How you pitch to him there is amazing. Who knows with Ricky. Some Wednesday night games vs the Tigers, he acts likkhh going the 7tttame of the WS. Here, it’s like it’s spring training. Letting the oppositions best players beat you with bases open won’t work when this team is supposed to win. If that day ever comes.

Who are these people...
Coming from the guy who gave us such hot takes as Yolmer is a really good player, Alonso is solid, Abreu cannot hit for a decent average anymore then he hits .356 the next month, and moving Moncada to 3B is stupid, it is ironic that you of all posters, would claim others have no idea what they are following. You definitely love yourself though, I will give you that.

Who are these people...
I actually know someone who used to do that for the White Sox in the early 90s for IIRC $50 a game.

Sox fire Matt Lisle/Matt Lisle quits (?)
The minor league season is ending, as is probably his contract. I suspect the Sox had told him he wouldn’t be back or at least he has suspected it for a while. We have no idea what exactly went down, but keep in mind MLB teams weren’t exactly knocking each other down to get him to come to their organization. I liked the hire, thought it was a new idea. I think Jim Thome put in a good word. It is possible he isn’t really a professional baseball level of instructor. Liking a tweet that says make you the major league hitting coach is nothing. I wish him well, but does anyone really know exactly what he did and who he helped?

Sox fire Matt Lisle/Matt Lisle quits (?)
I really doubt liking that tweet had anything to do with Lisle now looking for work. I would guess Lisle might have already have known his fate when he liked the tweet. The White Sox have really pissed me off lately baseball wise, and I liked the Lisle hire. But to say he was fired because the White Sox love their old school ways and he was trying to change that is nuts. Why would they have hired him in the first place? I actually googled Lisle a month or so ago because I forgot all about him. It certainly didn’t seem like he had much of a role with the organization. His twitter once indicated he was in Birmingham, but that was about it. There are a million reasons why he and the team may have separated, and the one many seem to want to hang with, seems like possibility 999,847 on the list.

Sox @ Braves Nova vs Fried
It is going to be tough to make the playoffs unless this team gets going soon.

Reinsdorf assures Ron that Abreu will always be a White Sox
So that's how Jose got to 100. I just think sometimes you have to step back at least a tiny bit from WAR and try to be logical. The White Sox have one of the lowest scoring teams in the AL. jose has accounted for a lot of runs. Maybe, just maybe the hate a few have for him is a bit overboard. 3rd quickest White Sox to 1,000 hits, first White Sox player with 30 doubles 6 straight seasons.

Twins @ Sox 8/29 Berrios vs Cease
I think if he stays healthy, he will be fine. He is giving up homers like never before. 13 allowed in 52 innings. In 354 minor league innings he only allowed 16.

Reinsdorf assures Ron that Abreu will always be a White Sox
Hitting .355 this month with an OPS around 1.000. I would say that is streaky good.

Frank Thomas reports on @NBCSChicago Sox GM Rick Hahn "leaning" towards not bringing up top prospect Luis Robert after Charlotte done in playoffs
Frank is Kaplan’s show talking about it. Nothing new other than Frank calls hm Roberts.

8/27- Sox vs Twins, 7:10, NBCSC+
He’ll show them. Eloy will bunt McCann over for Goins and Yolmer.

Free Agency - How confident are you?
Yet you praise Moncada who is -6 DRS, so about -10 over 162, and TA is -8 DRS, so even worse. Pick a lane,.
-
Free Agency - How confident are you?
Because it's an offensive game, and Rendon and Moncada would probably be better in a line up than some RF and Moncada. They aren't signing Rendon. Moncada will be at 3b.
-
Free Agency - How confident are you?
That is changing. More players are playing multiple positions. More infielders are becoming outfielders....Maybe next year when rosters go to 26 that may change a bit, but the more positions you can play, doesn't really hurt your value.
-
Free Agency - How confident are you?
If they signed a guy who could only play 3B or somewhere else on the infield ie. Machcado last year or Rendon this, or if Moncada fell apart. Maybe you should read my earlier posts. The one you responded to even said "if they had to". I could only imagine what you would be saying right now if Moncada was moved to RF this year, played really well, and some mentioned perhaps signing an OF and moving Moncada to 3B.
-
Free Agency - How confident are you?
When it was announced Moncada was moving to third, we heard time and time again on this board how awful that decision was. I'm sure if they had to, he or TA would make decent outfielders. It's not a real hard transition as long as you can run. The plus is each can also throw.
-
Free Agency - How confident are you?
I agree. Even Kris Bryant plays 3B, LF and RF,

Free Agency - How confident are you?
Anderson will be fine at SS. IMO the problem is he makes spectacular players look easy, and seems to try to make easy plays look spectacular. Once he gets it in his system that he doesn't have to add some flair to the easy ones, he might be GG quality.

Free Agency - How confident are you?
Last winter, Buster Olney laughed when people thought the White Sox would sign a premier guy. He isn't a shock guy. He isn't a moron. Until Buster can't laugh anymore, having confidence the White Sox will actually convert on any player of this ilk has to be very low.

Free Agency - How confident are you?
It was to make the Phillies feel they weren't bidding against themselves. Boras has more clients. Philadelphia still has more money. The White Sox, who were more open about their Machado chase than ever before, had nothing to say about Harper except he cost too much. They didn't pursue him again. Ask wsd. He heard nothing about Harper after the December meeting, and while I am not a fan of his, his stuff was the most accurate last winter.
-
Free Agency - How confident are you?
Boras fed Heyman some BS to increase the offers. The Sox were done with Harper right after their meeting. The Sox were used as leverage, again.
