  1. Fry warmed up 3 times before he came in including once really hard in the 4th or 5th inning. He being BP an hour later is on Ricky and Coop.
  2. I don't know what they said but taking shots when he is long gone while never saying anything but great things when he is here is a bit weasely.

Would depend how you look at it. His fWAR is actually worse than Alonso’s, and since it’s negative the fewer ABs actually helps him. If you take it by career Alonso is better. But if you just want to fit Palka career vs Alonso 40 games, then your narrative works. Palka sucks. Come to grips with it. Right now, Tilson and Cordell deserve to be in Chicago more than Palka. I am sure Delmonico will go when Eloy is back. Hopefully tomorrow.

Palka will probably be in Japan or Korea this time next year.

He is 27 and doesn’t have a history to suggest he is anything more than what he is been, which to this point, including last season, is replacement level.

Funny thing is Alonso has been much better than Palka this year in major league games. Frankly, I wouldn’t mind if neither never played another game for the White Sox.

If MLB success was based on offensive numbers for the Charlotte Knights, the Sox could have made Matt Davidson their #1 starter and still had the offense to compete for titles.

He had it on Wednesday. It was successful which to me seems odd. They always call it successful before seeing how he comes back from it.
  9. I just looked at my MLB app check in history. The last 10 games I have attended, the Sox are 0-10 and have been outscored 83-14.
  10. I guess Hahn said on MLBN it is very likely Abreu will be a White Sox when they expect to be good.
  11. I am not a Crowley guy but that isn’t surprising. JR is a very smart man, but everyone has weaknesses. I think he has a problem admitting being wrong, which a lot of us have, and he loves the I told you so. When the Sox won the division in 1983, JR was focused on calling the long gone Harry Caray and Jimmy Piersall scumbags. When they won it in 2000’ JR is in the clubhouse telling the media how wrong everyone was about the white flag trade. He is hoping he can tell people he was right and the obvious was wrong with both his teams now, GarPax success is based on beating unbelievable odds and landing DRose. If that never happened, would they have ever been more than a 6 or 7 seed? A lot is going to have to go right for it not to continue.
  12. Good for Avi, but does anyone really trust him to stay healthy and play well for 2 or 3 years straight which would have needed to happen if they were to sign him long term. Maybe they missed out on a decent trade chip, but it's not like Avi is going to bring back a can't miss. Probably more like the crap they always get.
  13. I think the last "surprise" that was developed by the White Sox was Maggs Ordonez.
  14. Build up some capital with ownership.
  15. Bulls at 7. What a disaster.
  16. Frank Thomas was watching the video of Eloy running around the bases before he went on his assignment and he said he has hurt his ankles enough to know Eloy's is still bothering him. He said the giveaway was the little steps he would start taking approaching the bag because he had to hit it just right.
  17. I think they should just get all nice guys. Who cares if they are good at baseball or not. Maybe have clowns coach the bases. maybe have Hahn and KW and JR throw pies in each others' faces. The kids would love it.
  18. 6 starts 28 IP. Right in line with his career average. They have to get him stretched out some, but might be playing with fire doing so.
  19. I thought maybe he had whiplash from watching all the rockets zoom by him.
  20. Banuelos has given up 19 runs and 8 homers his last 11 innings. That's hard to do.
  21. Might as well get his 4 starts in and TJ surgery started now than in September.
  22. At least Banuelos provides a lot of souvenirs. Always a thrill to catch a ball at a game.
  23. When healthy, Nate Jones is a really good relief pitcher. The problem is they are never all healthy. I don’t know why anyone can conclude suddenly health will no longer be an issue.
  24. Dick Allen replied to fathom's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Rodon and Jones were pretty much known to be done for the season. Adolfo is the big news. Maybe they were holding off announcing it because they had a buy 2 get 1 free surgery coupon.
  25. Surprises the hell out of me, but Gio is looking like a pitcher.
