  1. I think he is really good when he doesn’t think he is on stage at Zanies and every line needs to be gold. When he does the games and lets the one liners come naturally, it’s a better broadcast.
  2. Trump now openly mocking Dr. Ford at his rally. What an awful human being.
  3. Moncada and Anderson were a bit disappointing offensively. Delmonico and Avi went backwards. Engel, Yolmer, Abreu, I think they pretty much are what they are. Guys you are hoping to be counting on really didn’t take a step forward in 2018. Is it Stevenson’s fault? Probably not, but he doesn’t seem to be helping. This team was going to suck offensively no matter who was coaching them. I would just like to have had TA and Moncada at least in a better place at this point.
  4. Narvaez was a nice surprise, but he is hardly a game changer and can you play him regularly with his defensive lapses? Other than that and Palka hitting homers, has anyone offensively looked like they are heading in the right direction? So if they think they have guys with talent and can improve, obviously they aren’t being helped by what’s in place.
  5. There was an internet rumor this morning most likely BS, that Renteria may be out. There are more rumors that if the Cubs are a quick out, Maddon may be gone. Unless JR just loves Girardi, Scioscia or Maddon, and is willing to pay one of them, I would think the chances of a change are about as likely as an Adam Engel batting title.
  6. Once and for all, no one has corroborated Kavanaughs version.
  7. Madrigal is going to be compared to a lot of little guys. Altuve is obviously an outlier, and getting there is crazy to expect. Maybe he hits like Adam Eaton, another really little guy. One thing for sure is it is extremely likely he is an outlier as well because if the Sox didn't pick him with the 4th pick of the draft, someone would have selected him soon after.
  8. So he lied under oath to tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth. Great SCOTUS nominee. I also think if everything was the same except Republicans had Dr. Ford and it was Merrick Garland at the table, your take would be a lot different.
  9. Now Hillary chimes in about Kavanaugh. Please Hillary, I voted for you but............ You're over. Go away. You can only make it worse for his detractors.
  10. Hopefully one of these HS SS is the next Manny Machado. He was a #3 pick. There are going to be some future all stars on the board when they select. I hope they get the right guy.
  11. Lindsey Graham really wants Sessions' job. He stated if Kavanaugh can't get confirmed, Trump should re-nominate him.
  12. Any other time, this nomination would have been pulled by now. This is just the Trump Party giving a big middle finger to Dems because Trump always wants revenge. The collateral damage isn't even a consideration.
  13. I saw an old interview with the organization head who actually gave Trump the short list. He had a lot of names on there. I think about 20. He was asked who his favorite was, he said you could throw a dart to decide, it didn't make much of a difference. Trump picked this guy because he doesn't think a POTUS should be indicted. Once this is settled, it will be back to Russia and Michael Cohen....Kavanaugh being a Bush guy is a huge negative to Trump. He picked the wrong guy.
  14. Everyone knows, including you, that Kavanaugh lied last Thursday about things other than this alleged incident. There really is no argument he did not. Granted, some may be little white lies about things, but they are still lies. So, if a guy is lying about the small stuff, and his accuser concerning the big stuff comes off as credible from people on both sides, doesn't that usually mean bad things for the accused? Wouldn't it, shouldn't it, leave at least a shred of doubt about his innocence? He isn't going to jail, this isn't innocent until proven guilty. This is putting a guy on the Supreme Court. You would think republicans could find someone better who would have the same effect over the issues they want addressed. This whoever is the most shocking or whoever is the loudest wins realty TV inspired world in which we now live is something I look forward to seeing shift back to a point where at least a little civility is appreciated by all.
  15. I agree. The day Madrigal gets called up, he is the smartest baseball player on the team.
  16. I agree. Next year, if he hits 10 doubles 1 triple and 0 homers, maybe worry. But he did get injured this season in college, getting acclimated to professional baseball and wooden bats, and still hit as many homers as Luis Robert, and no one thinks Robert has no power.
  17. I don't know how anyone can be married to anyone on the White Sox current roster that is older than 24 or 25. Jose Abreu led the team for those with at least 100 plate appearances in OBP at .325. .318 is major league average including pitchers. Most of these guys suck pretty much with the bat. And lets face it, there aren't too many gold glove candidates around either.
  18. Exactly. The next time the White Sox have too many good players for one position other than should be a DH, will be the first.
  19. What would happen if I were in Kavanaugh's court room and acted like he did? Or a lawyer in his court room and talked back to him like he did?
  20. Which is another interesting take. Their record for 3 or 4 years before their at least semi-rebuild, was very similar to the White Sox, and they had the Cubs in their division. Somehow, they were able to get good without totally tearing it down. How long they will be good is a good question, but at least they got good. Trading Sale, Q, and Eaton on team friendly contracts in some way is admitting you don't know what you are doing developing players, and need to stock up on players who were developed elsewhere.
  21. One game, it depends who’s pitching.
  22. I remember being at high school parties, sober as a judge, and things that happened at those parties. There aren’t too many I remember the date or how exactly I got there or got home.
  23. They are now very familiar with striking out, walking people, giving up a lot of runs, bad baserunning, not getting on base, foolishly bunting, and losing games. The problem is, they all were pretty familiar with all of that before this season . I get they knew winning wasn't going to happen this year, but if they want to say this season was successful in any way, it's fluff. What else are you going to say when despite playing 2 teams 38 times that lost 98 and 103 games, you have the franchise's worst record in 48 years?
  24. If this team loses a player that turns into something in the rule 5, shame on them. There have been far healthier organizations that have lost nothing. The rule 5 hasn't really produced much in recent years.
