  1. I do agree, there isn’t another organization in baseball that would have let RH do a rebuild after seeing his previous results. It makes me very skeptical. As for the other stuff, all true, but....that is part of development. If you are all in on a rebuild, you have to expect things like this, not everyone will work out. Some will get hurt, some will suck, some will improve and be what they were projected to be. It takes a little while and a lot of luck. We just have to hope Ricks previous results are no indication as to how this will work out, or we all are going to be pretty upset.
  2. On the bright side, he was consistently 93/94 with it torn.
  3. Seding him to the minors in 2020 for any significant time probably means the rehab hasn't gone well.
  4. Who knows how it will go. Just hope he recovers better than Nate Jones. Gio and Cease have already had it. Dunning is a possibility. Hansen. Rodon and his shoulder. Building with young starters is walking a tightrope.
  5. He isn't dead yet, and this creates an opportunity. Maybe someone steps up.
  6. The Angels remind me of the post WS pre rebuild White Sox. They draw more fans, but both had some big names and some other really good players, but for the most part, except for diehards, no one really cares.
  7. And he would be on the DL right now and people would be saying if only their medical staff were more like the Red Sox..... I don't know how anyone pins this on the White Sox. No team avoids these, and Kopech seemed like a top candidate to have this occur.
  8. We all wanted to see the freak show. See someone throw the ball harder than anyone. Then when that inevitably breaks, trying to place blame, seems kind of weak.
  9. I would think he had this OKd by the Sox. My problem with Kopech is he always seemed to be a guy who wanted to throw 110 when 98-100 in more than enough. I just thought his approach, at least prior to this season was just asking for trouble.
  10. There are definitely more guys throwing 95 plus than years ago. But the max doesn’t appear to move much if at all. they say throwing a baseball isn’t a natural movement, so it figures at max or close to max effort each time you throw, humans would have a limited amount of bullets before something goes haywire.
  11. He also avoided it because his UCL wasn’t torn. He had a triceps injury.
  12. That is what I figured. He would have kept pitching in Charlotte so you figure the same thing was going to happen. I think this injury was pretty pretty much unavoidable. Kopech was already damaged goods in all likelihood when he was called up. And none of us had a clue, so hard to blame the White Sox. And he has typical soreness. Hard to blame him. It just happens and it sucks.
  13. That’s why I mentioned earlier I think it was probably torn some when he came up.
  14. It could be worse. As long as his clock is started finding out about it in December or during spring training further backing up his rehab is worse.if it was going to happen in the next 6 months, now is the best time.
  15. It’s the gamble you take with every pitcher, especially with someone like Kopech. In fact I mentioned it with Eloy. What if he came up and twisted his ankle or pulled an oblique? You just wasted servic time. my thing with Kopech had nothing to do with injury, although now it shows it’s ugly head. I just wondered what exactly he would have gotten out of pitching to the Detroit Tigers. The only thin I could think of was getting his arms conditioned for extra innings, but if you really look at him and count 30or so starts, he is within range already of pitching enough to be fine next season had they kept him down. He wasn’t going to be a 200 inning pitcher unless he changed a bit.To me it wasn’t worth the control. I am not going to say told you so. What happened was really unlucky. If they kept him down, maybe it happens in Charlotte, or during the winter, or at spring training, then everyone is in the same page and RH, KW are geniuses.
  16. Pitchers are all sore this time of year. If it really wasn’t barking too much, you cannot blame Kopech. He did pitch mostly 93-94, but did hit 96. Besides I really doubt pitching or not pitching the other night would make any difference regarding the outcome. The damage was done. Whether it was a week from now, this winter or next spring, he would have had an exam that came to the same conclusion.
  17. That’s the thing. Some guys have the surgery, sit out a year, and come back fine. Some wind up sucking, and for some, it’s the beginning of injury after injury. Hopefully he will be fine.
  18. I think this probably started before he came up. I would bet he had some sort of tear every pitch he threw in the major leagues. His first star, he was throwing 95-96. As amped as he was, I would have figured several 100s in there.
  19. At this point the only thing anyone can do is hope he fully recovers.
  20. He always struck me as a guy who probably had a better chance of having this happen than not due to his fascination with the gun.
  21. This is really a shame. I would imagine it was not a sudden injury, but the timing is unreal. Calling him up for the 14 innings cost the Sox 2 years of control. I hope it isn’t a sign of things to come.
  22. I would guess it was going to happen anyway, but a couple weeks sooner and no one would have complained they kept him in Charlotte. Tough break. Hopefully he recovers. Some do really well, some don’t.
  23. So the WH has the people who are supposedly saving the country from Trump, look for the person who wrote the op-ed telling everyone so. When will Chief Inspector Clouseau be called? Does anyone there realize how ridiculous this is?
  24. Yes, I have no problem with that. They probably don't want to do it in a car on a main street in a crowded town though. They should also allow marriage and women.
  25. 2 priests were arrested for having sex in a car on Ocean Blvd. in Miami. Turns out one of them was from Arlington Heights. The guy he replaced in Arlington Heights had gone to jail on a child porn conviction.
