I wouldn't doubt it either, but there is a difference. And using that as a measuring stick isn't realistic. He probably could hit better than Adam Engel while he was in A ball. But no one would have wanted him called up. Let him finish the next month in Charlotte, take a break, maybe play some winter ball, and go back to Charlotte for a couple of weeks next year, and get the extra year. At this point, it is really shortsighted to not do that. If anything, it's a complement to the player. They know the rules. He's more than aware what can happen. Everyone gets on the White Sox when they miss a loophole. Yet, here's one they appear to be taking full advantage, and people are still complaining. The new toy will still be new next April.

Nothing wrong or illegal about collusion, yet there was NO COLLUSION. But if there was............. This guy is like a 3rd grader.

I also mentioned plate appearances, which you conveniently ignored. Go back and read again. I said if Eloy had a couple of hundred more and he was doing this, they would have to call him up. I am being consistent. You are arguing to argue. I have money invested in White Sox tickets. I would love to watch Eloy play this year, but I know its the wrong thing to do. This isn't a franchise that dances with the luxury tax, and if half the guys here are half as good as hoped, and they spend on all these free agents, that extra year of control will be critical. Yoan will be reaching bigger paydays when these younger guys are still making peanuts. Another bit of a difference.
-
So you say Moncada was rushed. He has over 200 more plate appearances above A ball than Eloy. And he still got into a lot of games last year. And what did that do for him? Learning from your mistakes is a strength, not a weakness. Give Hahn credit for doing that, although it was not exactly the same thing.
-
If Jimenez had a couple hundred more plate appearances above A ball, and he was doing this, they would have to call him up, but why do it if you don't have to? I thought rebuilds were about patience. Be patient, get the extra year of control. If he spends an extra month in AAA, it isn't going to make him a bad player, and if it somehow did, something else would have anyway.

This is the box I'm checking.

We can only hope the White Sox have too many good players for their 40 man roster. Right now, I can name 12 or 13 who no one would blink if they were DFA'd. 2019 is a long way away roster-wise right now. Guys will either play their way on or off, or the Sox will trade a couple.

Sox Acquire Caleb Frare from NYY for Intl Pool Money
Dick Allen replied to PolishPrince34's topic in Pale Hose Talk
This basically cost the Sox nothing. They weren’t going to spend that money. He was really tough in AA. Maybe they found something. Definitely worth the deal. -
Wow. Sox just sent $1.5 million in pool money to NYY for a lefty AA reliever. Good call.

Last night was the Sox highest total attendance since opening day. I was there and there were more people dancing than I can remember. People are tired of losing. A nice Sox comeback and everyone jumped out of their shells. Winning is fung. Next season is going to be interesting. I think far more fans are expecting a huge jump, than those who think another year of this is OK. Maybe people on this board understand next year probably won’t be a big hit, I don’t think that feeling is shared throughout White Sox fandom.
-
Don’t get me wrong, trading them is the correct thing to do. I just think there will be minor league free agents this winter that are far more interesting then what they get back.
-
I agree at least one will go, but it will be a boring return.
-
On mine It says premium screening not supported for all the MIs in all of the theaters.
-
Through their first 1;000 games, Rizzo and Konerko have almost identical offensive numbers.
-
I agree. I think I will be using my moviepass daily until it works no more. Considering they blacked out Mission I possible for fear everyone would see it and burn their money, the end is near.

The k is just another out never made any sense. It was just total denial. If you don’t k, you either put the ball in play, get HPB, walk, or hit a homer. I never understood how people were talking about BABIP, and saying a strikeout was just another out. There is about a 30% chance not King results in a hit.
-
There are too many sellers and not enough buyers. For what the Sox have left, unless someone really wants to pay for Rodon, why would a team give up anything remotely interesting? They have 20 other teams with the same crap they can bargain with. The Al is all but decided. Just Oakland and Seattle fighting for the 1game playoff. There really are 7 NL teams fighting for 5 spots, although all of their division are still wide open. I just don’t see why anyone would give anything for what the Sox have to offer.

No he is not. He's looking for immunity or some sort of sentence relief. . He is going to Mueller, not the other way around. And if his story is contradicted by everyone he says knows the truth, he looks like he lied, and is in more trouble. I understand he is trying to get out of a lot of trouble. But giving prosecutors info that is untrue or can't be proved does him no good either. There is no indication yet Mueller even wants or needs him. Maybe he's got the goods without him. There is absolutely no way Trump is clean on all of this. Nobody dumb enough to believe he is.
-
Looks like the gravy train is about to end.
-
Suipposedly there were others in the room. You would have to think it is true, but proving it may not be so easy if everyone else lies. But think about it, it would make no sense for Cohen to lie to Mueller. It would only make his situation worse. There were calls to what could be Trump's phone from Jr. at times where you would have to figure he was filling him in on the meeting. It's just like everything else with Trump. They want you to believe he had no knowledge of anything in the least bit slimy, but was in total control of everything else. America was dumb to begin with. This administration has made it even dumber.

Danish & Vieira called up, Volstad DFA'd
Dick Allen replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
You had to figure Volstad was at the end of the line. Unless he finds something soon, I bet Santiago gets DFA'd next. No reason to keep trotting these guys out there when there are plenty of others who can get a look. -
Trump bragging about this new health care plan that he hears is doing record business. Record business. Great health care for very little money. It went unchecked. His Secretary of Labor wouldn’t. Or react him. Either he cannot help himself or he really is just so out of the loop he doesn’t know. Remove him please.

A little, but They don’t have anyone who plays regularly at .330. Obviously Abreu has been on a bad streak, so he’s will be better,, and Moncada should wind up higher. But the others? I am not very optimistic.
-
Sox team OBP is .301. They are going to need more than a couple of upgrades.
-
5 homers and you get blown out. That doesn’t happen much. Make it 6.
