  1. Hahn said he was shut down last fall and we will see what happens in spring.
  2. Well there is the new summer drink of choice.
  3. He could be 100% correct but he has no first hand knowledge of it and thus it is hearsay and needs to be taken as such. If he stated this in the interview fine but it does not appear that he did. Personally I do not care one way or the other of what happened in the 1980's. Ty Cobb used to sharpen his spikes to take guys out. Doesn't make me think any differently of the Tigers today. Joe Nossek was one of the greatest sign stealer's of all time and is famous for it.
  4. How can you ask how he is salty? He was not part of the organization during the time in which he is speaking so he has second hand knowledge and is speaking as if he was part of the process. It would be somewhat credible if he was int eh organization when this happened or explained how it was handed down from LaRussa to the organization and carried forward to his time. He is failing to tell this part of the story which is pretty important.
  5. leury garcia is the back up SS
  6. They only release certain blocks for these types of things to encourage purchasing the packages.
  7. Thank you sir.
  8. Anyone know if there are presale codes out there?
  9. They have put Mazara in a position to succeed. He is an afterthought to the common fan and has zero pressure to perform. He is also surrounded by Latin players that can have a positive impact on him. There is a lot to be said about being comfortable in life.
  10. I think Donaldson's value is not what he thinks it is. The Bryant and Arenado situations probably have a greater impact as he is the third option and much lower than those two. The Bryant grievance is the largest holdup.
  11. Eloy is not going to preclude the White Sox from signing big money guys. Yoan, Gio and Anderson can cost the White Sox large sums of money as they have skill-sets that can cost a team an uncomfortable amount of money.
  12. With Loogy's becoming less of a things now, Gio can become quite valuable in that role as he can get RHH out as well. Same with Rodon if they are looking to ease him back in.
  13. Price/nice piece with no prospects worth anything Dallas Ryu Any will work and should be done. The longer the Sox don't force the issue the greater the thought Covey/Fullmer starts the 5th game of the season. I don't think any is ideal but something needs to be done to save face or it's 2 years of failure. Grandel was nice but that's all, it was nice.
  14. I didn't know he was not part of the organization. When was he let go? I assumed he was a bench guy or hurt at the end of the year...huh.
  15. The longer the smoke lingers the greater the chance somebody comes in and overpays. This off-season is playing out like last.
  16. Abreu to DH and Rendon to 1B. Rendon moves to 1B or DH at some point in his career, may as well be now. Leave Yoan at third
  17. To me this trade is a guy we know that can be a positive (not great but not embarrassing) MLB player as compared to the shit we have rolled out in RF recently. Anyone thinking Walker could be better than Mazara right now is being stupid. Walker will most likely never be better than Mazara and Mazara still has upside. This is so much like Avi's time with the White Sox and I think that is what people are seeing. Walker was not netting anything more than this on his own and if he was going to be included in a larger package Sheets or Rutherford will fit that spot. My hope is that this is opening the door on taking on money like in a Price deal. If our positional players and money is now set for the year, the White Sox should be able to take on some bad contracts for players that can had for pitching help (Price, Ryu, etc.) Who cares about Mazara's status in two years worst case scenario if he does well and walks they get the Walker draft pick back.
  18. Ryu couldn't stay healthy when he was young but somehow as he ages people think he will pitch more. I guess the hope is you can get 140 innings from him and they are at the right part of the season. It could work but i envision the same people wanting him b****ing that he is out next August for 6 weeks.
  19. Price and Benintendi for minimal minor league capital seems like a decent risk. At some point if the White Sox are going to succeed they need to be able to stomach some bad contracts. You are going to overpay for cost controlled starting pitcher if it is even available.
  20. Maybe the tv deal isn't the windfall they had expected.
  21. That is the narrative in all sports and what tanking is all about. It is not about the day to day enjoyment of the sport any longer.
  22. Do what he Dodgers thought was a good idea years ago. Take on the Red Sox bad contracts because while those guys are over paid they can help. I am talking about Price and JDM.
  23. If he pitches like last year that is a good contract.
  24. Hopefully they have a greater impact than Jon Jay and Yonder Alonso.
