  1. I am not really active but live in Beverly so I am around and follow CCL. Soph is really good athlete. He is smart kid that should do well. If they win, they are on the road the next week no matter what.
  2. When you and SS2K stopped posting the whole place kind of has
  3. Minooka is beatable. Should be an evenly matched game. MC coach has lost 2 games in two years I think so that change is not really insane. I get your point but they had a replacement right there for them Badke doesn't run the offense. There is an MC guy doing that now and they have great running backs similar to St Rita so go with what works. They have nice drives that can easily take 5 -7 mins off the clock..
  4. They should make it to DeKalb unless they have to go to Edwardsville in semis that is a long drive.
  5. They can beat SE, and potentially the next game. Warren is very very good especially on the defensive side of the ball. They have a nice draw that can make them look better than reality.
  6. He and the junior starters at Rita and MC all played together at Christina. The Rita guy was replaced week 9. Somers at Rice will play DB going forward. He is more of a baseball guy. Hes an ok QB but the soph is better. He wont transfer.
  7. Soph is the better QB...he also is TOR pitcher and PG in basketball. I think they were just looking to ease him in. High School RB that are mostly about speed are now moving to WR. Rice has a couple other guys that can be RB then Shaw is a combo. WR gets him outside and into easier. Also opens the box some for the QB who can run and other backs.
  8. Not sure i have looked more forward to a baseball game in a while. I don't really care who wins but I love watching Scherzer pitch and like Grienke. I think I am liking Soto more and more so I'd like to see the Nats win. But I dislike Rizoo so much. Just hope it is a good game.
  9. They want him to be a puppet for the front office.....is their front office that good?
  10. or Alec Thomas
  11. ya last week played first 4 were WA next 2 were BR
  12. I hear they look good. EdgyTim Warren poster let you know weekly. Not to be confused with guy gregg is talking about btw. Gregg, Rice looks ok. Lot of underclassmen but they should not have lost to Laurence or Providence at home. They can beat MC but are a one and done in playoffs if they go in 5-4 in 8A
  13. I like the fact they stuck with Davey Martinez and it worked out. I know nothing about Martinez but it's a good story that it is working out for them. Hopefully they can keep Rendon and Stras.
  14. Maybe teams will begin to go back to overpaying for bullpen arms at the deadline. A year or two too late for the White Sox. If the Nats had a bullpen they would be scary as hell. That was a great game.
  15. That whole game yesterday was bad and they deserved to lose but not realizing they may fake the punt is on the special teams coach.
  16. I don't think the national gigs pay as well as the local gigs for guys like him. Singleton left but there are numerous like Charlie Steiner and the guys in Baltimore and SF that were ESPN guys that left for local gigs that still do national stuff periodically like John Rooney and Benetti.
  17. That is only a 5 year period. It's not like it is saying 15 wins is the most by a coach since Ditka. Kind of a pointless stat.
  18. Pirates actually won three in a row and the Sox win 2 v the Indians....ugh
  19. Giolito saves Cooper Anderson and Moncado the rest of them
  20. I said this in another thread and will say it here as I had in the past. I get nothing financially out of my team's success. All I want is the daily enjoyment of a winning baseball team. After the first game of 2006, 2005 was done. I hope my daily enthusiasm for the White Sox and knowing every day when and where they are playing and getting out to the park is a priority that returns as it has not been there for a number of years. I'd take 6 - 10 years of playoff success over one world series. I agree with the Sox rebuild btw. Now, if the cubs don't make the playoffs again and the Dodgers win the next 10 NL west titles, which run of success as a fan to enjoy more.
  21. So Kenny Williams is a better GM than Billy Beane? I am of the mindest I want my team to be an option for entertainment every day not one year out of 20. As a person who gets zero financial benefit for the White Sox, I would take 10 division titles over a world championship and then twenty years of nothing. As a fan looking to sit and watch one team daily, I'd take the Dodgers during Theo's tenure than the cubs. i got zero enjoyment out of the 2005 White Sox after the first game of the 2006 season.
  22. Pretty simple, because hockey is not football, basketball or baseball. People will follow the Blackhawks if they are winning. If they are not winning nobody cares about them. If the Chicago Sky won every WNBA since it's inception or the Fire won the MLS, neither would be close to gaining any more relevance in the city.
  23. Everything being equal (no fan support, stadium neighborhood, owner, etc) pure talent, likability and long term trajectory, the Sox look like the better team. Now the cub can go sign Castelleanos (sp?) and Cole and the Sox can miss on Wheeler and we are one step forward, two steps back. Robert, Madrigal, Cease, Dunning, Kopech, Jimenez, Moncada, Giolito.......that's something to build on I thought missing on Machado and Harper hurt but now go win this off season.
  24. The silver lining in this whole thing is that if he does get healthy he still has two years in the minors and then slides in as a cheap option. I look at him as an additional first round pick in 2020. Sucks for him and he will be older if he makes it but that is all we can hope for. He was an advanced bat when they drafted him so hopefully he is a quick mover.
  25. The fact he has never pitched 200 innings and only pitched into the 8th inning once this year were numbers that stuck out to me. He was an MVP candidate in 2016. I did not realize he was that good. He is a good pitcher but with the aging of that staff he needed to be better.
