https://www.chicagotribune.com/news/opinion/editorials/ct-kim-foxx-cook-county-states-attorney-endorsement-1009-20161007-story.html Now we are finding out she is not qualified for her elected office. I hate the Sun Times and pay it no mind but I kind of still respect the Tribune. Alvarez may have had her issues but Foxx is the living version of Daniel Caffey from a Few Good Men. Her career was spent in Juvenile court she has no experience actually trying cases. Yet there she was being touted as the #1 choice. The Republican candidate should have been endorsed over her but that can't be the case in Cook COunty. Yet here we are now finding out how incompetent she really is and how she basically does not really care to enforce the law.

Kind of plays into my thinking that this front office really doesn't know what they are doing as this type of stuff seems much more prevalent than them drafting or signing and developing guys.
-
Kim Foxx has no business being the District Attorney and it is really a shame that media no longer exists in the fashion in which it should to inform voters of this. She literally is not qualified for her position. The failing legal system is what is hurting Chicago more than anything right now and it is not just about holding the police accountable, it is about enforcing the rule of law and her office is not doing that. Precwinkle should not get a single vote but it is Chicago, she'll probably end up winning.

I had a bit of a come to Jesus moment while watching MLB network pick ELoy and Tatis as Rookie of the year. If they both live up to expectations it will hurt losing Tatis but if Cease and Eloy make lasting impacts it really hurts the cubs so I can live with that trade off as assine irrational and stupid as it may seem....I guess I found a potential silver lining.

Saw Rice v HF Saturday. I am going to opening day.

The feds aren't picking up this case they are busy in Harvey, Ed burke's office and up in Rockford. The issue is not that he got off the issue is that Kim Foxx does not enforce the law and criminals are allowed to run free. The suspect in the off duty police shooting this past weekend was on probation when he should have gone to prison for aggravated assault. The officer graduated from Brother Rice greg.

and if the White Sox did not intend on giving them market value they should have never have sat at the table.
-
The avialability of those two options with no big team lurking is the issue. Those types of players are not hitting the market and they certainly are not again when all the big boys are looking at their taxes instead of signing them. If they got crazy money fine we can wallow in the $0.50 argument v the $1 but they both signed for $0.50 and we didn't want to spend out $0.50 instead we will spend $0.25 and cry poor

None of those guys are getting useful pieces.

Missing out on Machado and Harper is not that issue. The issue is that two players that fit perfectly into the rebuild were passed over because the organization is cheap and the front office response to fans appears to us that they feel we are morons. A player of their talent is not going to be an option for the White Sox in free agency in this rebuild again. It was an epic failure as has been he management of the team under Rick Hahn. That is the issue. Neither guy was overpaid and the White Sox were never in on either. The smoke and bullshit all winter was just that...bullshit. They were never going to get either and they should have had whichever they wanted by forcing the issue. Had they said from day one that they felt the skillset of each player did not warrant the contract fine but the Tanaka signing dog and pony show to in the end not even be close is bad and then for them to talk about their fundamental changes in organization stylings is insulting to any fan paying attention. Nothing changed. They still cannot draft or develop players and they are not willing to sign big name free agents. Kenny Williams was in the front office when the Garland trade happened. The white flag was a rebuild but Rick Hahn wants us fans to believe he is doing something novel. The only thing he is doing is failing miserably at his job. He actually makes KW look good and I hate KW. That is where my thoughts are in regard to the Chicago White Sox. I really hope that changes but it is only getting worse as the season draws near.

Kimbrel in discussions with Brewers
Harry Chappas replied to EvilJester99's topic in The Diamond Club
If the Brewers do this, I will sadly be more interested in the Brewers than the White Sox. -
But it should continually be said as it is spot on. I cancelled a 200 ticket event that I was planning and the reason I told the ticket agent was that I felt the White Sox front office was full of shit. I have stated this before and will again. My desire for White Sox baseball has been waning, is worse now then ever and it is not getting better. I bought tickets to opening day before the front office wet the bed and I am debating whether I even want to go.

Wonder if they would have taken Kyle Gibson. I liked Mitchell.
-
In all seriousness what happens if Eloy is a top 10 player in 5 years?
-
He couldn't supplement those to form a winner at the MLB level. You or I could have made those trades to get those players... After that he has done nothing to build the organization. The drafts are embarrassing.

I was watching the game today and was really annoyed at Steve and Benetti talking about how much better this year's team will be and locker room bull shit. It really is going to be hard to watch any games this year. I thought I would get back into it but it's just not happening. Hopefully Eloy does the trick. I watched 3 innings that said screw it.
-
The MLB parent pedigree is behind adolfo and tatis signings so hopefully they don't screw it up. My guess is Vaughan is there and then it is a no-brainer for them but would love Witt, I think WItt goes 1-1.
-
Well I am thinking more and more that signing older injury free pitchers is the way to go.
-
It's a new phenomenon as well. Football off season was meh until free agency and salary cap came into play. MLB used to be awesome.
-
The issue is this organization has hit on very low volume of developing players and there is no reason to believe they will hit on any more than one or two of the current crop and we were shown that they will not bid properly for free agents so in 5 years we will most likely be where we are now. The ineptness of this front office is shown in this past off-season by over paying for bad free agents and then trading for a $9M contract for a worthless player from a divisional for looking to cut salary. The fact that Jon Jay is making more then Adam Jones ends any debate of the front office having any kind of clue.

I think we are rock bottom but not necessarily looking good going forward.

Who is your top 2019-20 free agent target
Harry Chappas replied to JUSTgottaBELIEVE's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Until a contract greater than $100M is signed it is not BS. Remember when they were going to get Tanaka or way back when A-Rod. The White Sox will pay over $100M for a free agent if they are getting a good deal on said free agent . -
KW: "It's a shame" the Sox are being portrayed as cheap
Harry Chappas replied to Jose Abreu's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Just like the Sox look like geniuses in the Belle opt out....in hind sight....in real time they let the best hitter in baseball walk away and then let the white flag rise just a few years after having a major hand in cancelling a world series they had a good shot at playing in.
