For some reason I think the sox win this game. -

Iwakamura could throw 200 pitches today and the White Sox would still have not clue on how to go about hitting him. They went from making good contact to having no chance. -

QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 04:50 PM) Crain has very overwhelming STUFF....One of the better hooks out the pen in the game & an above average fastball. OK then Axelrod is a very very very poor mans Jessie Crain, that better? My point was not about how good Jessie Crain is, it had to do withe fact that if Axelrod is jerked around you lose nothing long term while Santiago had plenty of potential when he came up that is being jerked around because the White Sox do not knwo how to use him. -

This inning seems to be about the end of the charade that is this game. -

QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 04:43 PM) A poor mans Crain?.....WHAT? Crain is one of the better relievers in the game at the setup position. A right handed pitcher that relies on control to get batters out. He is not as good as Crain hence the term poor man's. They do not have overwhelming stuff but seem to be very good at what they are doing. -

13 in a row retired and not even putting up fight. Looks like the Harvey Mets game, man among boys. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 04:32 PM) WTF, Santiago is starting on Sunday and he's pitching today (and pitched last night)? The Sox do know he's young and has potential and it's a 40 year old Terry Mulholland? In reality shouldn't Axelrod and Santiago be switching roles? Axelrod is a nice piece that should be able to be a poor man's Jessie Crain, can throw an inning or two every day and if it does not work out, so be it. Santiago came up with potential and then was jerked around so often he has lost most of the luster he used to have. Is he a closer, spot starter, starter, loogy, one inning guy, who knows, not the White Sox. This is kind of what I see happening to Gillespie now with Keppinger and Beckham are playing. The flaws of this organization are really starting to show. -

Losing to good pitching is acceptable as is tipping the ole cap once in a while but the inability to even compete in certain games is the main issue. They literally have no chance today. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 04:09 PM) Absolutely, bring in Dave Martinez as the manager and let him choose his coaching staff. Ventura's staff from last year and the changes for this year are abysmal. Losing Nieves, whatever Baines is doing, Thigpen is a regression etc. Clean house and bring in guys that have done the job before. -

QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 03:37 PM) What do you suggest as an alternative? Everyone on the 40 man roster sucks. No clue but how could it be any worse than it is now. Short of being no hit there is no difference in any lineup that is run out there. This team literally struggles to score a run and they do nothing to change their approach. The definition of insanity is watching this team hit with the weak grounders and swinging at pitches that they can do nothing with. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 03:24 PM) Just giving Gillaspie a day off, as he has also joined the suck parade of late going 1 for his last 19. I did not see last nights or Monday's game so I assume Gillaspie played third then for both of them. Both of the last two starters were right handed shouldn't Gillespie have sat Monday and gotten his day off then as I believe Saunders is left handed. I have kind of tuned out from this team as it is dreadful but it would not surprise at all that Gillispie is losing playing time to Keppinger and that they are not treated as a straight platoon. -

This lineup has not worked all season yet they keep trotting it out there. I understand there are not many options but this is becoming the exact definition of insanity. What the f*** difference does it make if you are shutout one way or another? The big fat kid gets to bat fourth and the fast guy gets to lead off. -
QUOTE (StrangeSox @ May 22, 2013 -> 11:44 AM) Terrible headline, but an article ripping Rahm is always good: Rahm Emanuel’s Zombie Pigs vs. Chicago’s Angry Birds Short of *maybe* something like the Olympics that can get a whole bunch of infrastructure and transportation built along with it, there's no justification for publicly funding private sports stadiums. They are almost universally money-losers. The city agreed to pay a contractor $84M to develop that land for the Olympics. When the Olympic bid came up short, the city was still on the hook for $84M. they needed to do something with that land and DePaul won.

Good chance for him to get a second perfect game under his belt.

QUOTE (robinventura23 @ Jun 5, 2013 -> 12:07 PM) I agree. I'm wondering if Ventura doesn't even come back after his family event. I would just quit if I were him. If so maybe they will put a little more work into getting a manager that actually wants to manage instead of treating it like a pee wee baseball team and finding the dad with the most playing experience and talking him into doing it. -

8 tonight 9 tomorrow That is not game time either, pathetic. -
Oakland offense is not much better than the white sox.

QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 2, 2013 -> 06:06 PM) No one thinks Cooper should be gone, but rather if changes are made with Ventura and Cooper doesn't get the managerial job, then maybe he goes elsewhere? He should learn from Larry Rothschild. I wish the sox would get somebody with experience they have not had that since joe nossek. Sometimes 2005 can be a hindrance as it made the lack of execution acceptable due to the pitching success.
-
Hopefully someone is held accountable for this disaster of an offense. Anyone that thinks cooper should be let go......I just do not get it. Every single inning of every game is high tension with this piss poor offense. The coaching staff's job is to prepare the team to play and parent, ventura and manto are failing massively.
-
Ventura and parent are not really any good at their jobs it appears.
-
The bench and minor league system being mistreated by KW is really evident the last two years.
-
The fact that Casper wells is playing is why Dunn will on this roster at least through the remainder of the season. Wells sucks
