I love game threads. 5-2 victories sound like 9-1 defeats
-
I love Soxtalk I read the thread for the 7th inning before going to Gamecast. Thought at a minimum it was 4-3. Also I thought yesterday with Crain and Lindstrom warm, that was who they should have gone to over Jones. Would be nice to get a little offense going.

What happened on the Beckham play? The White Sox seemingly have no chance of hitting anyone that comes out of the Royals bullpen so Veal better hold them here.

Louisville is the best team in the tourney.

No April fool's thread?

QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Mar 31, 2013 -> 10:56 PM) I thought it was really good. Agreed GOT with a nice start as well.

Should Verlander's new megacontract affect Sox thinking?

How are the Phillies digging the halladay contract. -
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 29, 2013 -> 12:53 PM) Which is why we've slashed capital gains taxes over the past few decades, to make sure that doesn't happen. I didn't say it was actually being done.

QUOTE (StrangeSox @ Mar 28, 2013 -> 04:23 PM) Economy built for profits not prosperity That is what outsourcing and streamlining productivity are all about. Then you tax those that profit from this in capital gains tax and give the money to the middle and lower class workers that have been replaced via federal assistance programs.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 29, 2013 -> 07:55 AM) I think the Heat just cranked up the defensive intensity in the playoffs in the half court game. The Bulls could hang with the Heat when the Heat aren't going 100% all out on defense. When the playoffs hit, the Heat cranked it up a notch and took away the floor spacing and movement that the Bulls O tries to use otherwise. When LeBron James covers Derrick Rose the Bulls offense ceases to exist.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Mar 28, 2013 -> 11:00 PM) Big win for my bracket calling this one. I had Marquette and Syracuse, along with OSU who I have winning it all.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 28, 2013 -> 04:35 PM) Reinsdorf IS 77...maybe they're going to talk about ceding control of the team. JR does not have control of the team he is the spokesman.

2012-2013 Official NHL thread
Harry Chappas replied to southsider2k5's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
Hawks need a second line center and more importantly someone that can win a face-off. I wonder if Sharp gets the call as the Hawks have more than enough depth at wing. -
The Patriots going 16-0 is a better streak than the Heat or the Lakers record of wins. It is also better than the Blackhawks. NBA officiating is abysmal.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 09:48 AM) I think it all depends on who Darryl blames. Rick better hope he blames the Governor He has to blame the Governor. Last conversation with Rick and Darryl was looking for Merle.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 24, 2013 -> 09:41 AM) Wow. That just made me feel all tingly inside. If he and sale make 60 starts combined, season should be enjoyable -
Bernstein and whoever he was with last Friday were insufferable. They were competing to see who could rip the callers more although I only listened to about 20 minutes of the show.

Brad Stephens: bring the brick and ivy to Rosemont
Harry Chappas replied to justBLAZE's topic in The Diamond Club
If the cubs move to rosemont can't the city not allow them to use the name Chicago? -
Half the crowd can not see it anyway with the overhang.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 19, 2013 -> 08:54 AM) I am very surprised Milton is still alive. The Governor has killed people for less. They alluded to Milton and the Govenor having a back story. Milton mentioned to Andrea that he know the governor before Woodbury.

Best part about this thread is I could give a s*** if Derrick Rose ever plays again.

Sox vs baby bears ST game thread- Ides of March
Harry Chappas replied to southsider2k5's topic in 2013 Season in Review
QUOTE (BFirebird @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 03:41 PM) I agree. I think that the Sox staff has been trying to stress to hit it to the opposite field to everyone...even Dunn. Dunn at least talked about going with the pitch more. I believe Alexei mentioned it as well. That is the only way they will improve their averages and OBP...hitting to ALL fields. Ted Williams frozen brain says bulls*** -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 11:15 AM) THis is supposed to be the first TV broadcast of the spring. Have fun. MLBN carried yesterday's debacle. -
QUOTE (Iwritecode @ Mar 15, 2013 -> 10:25 AM) For most of my life I had the same name as the pope (although I was born about 10 months before the first one took the name) yet I never got a nickname from it. Only one person every really called me "the pope" but it never stuck. How envious are you of Donn Pall?
