  1. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 07:44 PM) Awful by Viciedo...shocking. Nice call playing him Ventura. Ventura is having a terrible season thus far and the line-up can generate no offense at all, same year, same story, new GM.
  2. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 01:49 PM) I don't need to know him. He didn't say anything until Quentin started walking towards him. Observing a fact. He hit Quentin, happens to Quentin all of the time, he has hit him previously and he doesn't hit many guys. After he hits him, he should pay no attention to Quentin. When he hits the guy and then mouths off, Quentin went after him. As opposed to what Jack McDowell did, hit the guy, stand there waiting for he ball or if you did it on purpose turn and grab the rosin bag. If the guy charges and tackles you from behind he looks like the p****.
  3. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 12, 2013 -> 12:37 PM) He only "mouthed off" (we don't even know what he said, but it was really brief) because Quentin stared at him and started walking towards the mound. Prompts a "wtf are you doing" reaction from Greinke, because again, it's ridiculous to think that was intentional. He has hit 25 batters since 2005 and three of them have been Quentin what is so ridiculous about thinking they have a history and it was intentional. Looks to me that without a doubt he was trying to come well up and in on him. The status of the game against a horses*** padres team means nothing. Grienke tried to defend Kemp, got to up and in and paid the price. Grienke wasn't backing down and was more than willing to go after Quentin. You hit a guy, let him say f*** you and be on your way. You hit a guy mouth back after hitting him twice previously and now there is a story.
  4. AJ's OBP was no great shakes. The White Sox take the power in their park over OBP we need to live with that. Where do they rank as team in OPS that is the issue.
  5. Gavin Floyd is just too damn painful to watch. 7 K's in 5.1 innings of work. The guy is just a mental f***. Desmond and Espinosa are killing them.
  6. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 9, 2013 -> 03:42 PM) Receiving it poorly is giving up on it. Backhanding it is fine, just stick it. Taking it to the ground was the issue. Nathan gave up because of how Pierzynski received it. Agreed the pitch was not that bad. Mlbn made a huge issue about it as well. God I hope they do not turn into ESPN.
  7. QUOTE (Marty34 @ Apr 7, 2013 -> 09:07 PM) I'm offended by it just the same. The onus is on the White Sox to field a team that people want to see. No reason to not like this team. I am tired of the derrick rose team needs to be great on paper to care. If verlander's arm falls off the Sox are the best team in the division. Then what will fans b**** about.
  8. The handling of the bullpen is bad already. Jones in the opener and why no reed last night?
  9. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 03:52 PM) Holland hasn't been throwing strikes. Flowers the only one willing to wait. Maybe break up the over swinging, free swinging cubans in the lineup.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 03:50 PM) That has to be a situation where you have Wise hit for him. Should have happened two strike outs ago. His history in that match-up was not good at noon today and it only got worse as the day went on. Why is pinch hitting so taboo for the Chicago White Sox?
  11. I wonder what would happen if the plan was to not cut down on strikeouts this year.
  12. Glad to see Hosmer getting hit after Flowers was hit earlier.
  13. Let's hope he gets the day off the next time they face Guthrie.
  14. surprised Dayan didn't swing at the pitchout.
  15. QUOTE (Jose Paniagua @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 02:49 PM) While I agree late-in-season games shouldnt be weighted in importance, isn't the scoreboard-follow just a little early here? Watching the game and thought it was something people would be interested in.
  16. Fielder struck out and Martinez popped to second with the bases loaded.
  17. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 02:00 PM) De Aza has matched his gidp total from last year already. Seems like he is almost at the same amount of strikeouts as well. One more bad at-bat and we will get from Hawk, "Alejandro has more bad at bats in three games than I think he had all last season."
  18. Didn't he go until about august without doing that last year?
  19. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 01:50 PM) Last year he had 4 starts against the Sox with a 0.30 ERA Not missing a beat. This game has the look of one of those Floyd mistakes going about 400 feet to right center and a 3-0 final.
  20. This weekend these guys will get breaks with the day/night game thing.
  21. Forever In Blue Jeans and WMAQ bumper stickers.
  22. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 6, 2012 -> 08:03 PM) PHT is dead? Look at the threads, I believe it is.
