  1. Jake has made his money he is with the White Sox because he only wants to play in the midwest. The Tigers may makea run at him or even the Roylas but he may stay here or go to the cubs. Remember the no trade clasue and the limited teams he wants to play for.
  2. Wow are the hawks getting their asses to them in this period And a goal....seabrook HD a nice view of it
  3. Somebody should bump the Jeff Manto thread from when he was named hitting coach and his quotes. i recall a lot of conversation about how his approach does not make sense. It is all coming to fruition.
  4. Sunday lineup may be better than the everyday lineup.
  5. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 07:20 PM) White Sox starter John Danks expounding on why this year's team is better than 2011 Danks: "I hate to say it, but there were times, especially later in the season, where we were just kind of counting the outs" Danks: "It was kind of like, 'All right, let's just get it over with.'" Danks says 2012 Sox are tighter and have never-say-die attitude Scot Gregor via twitter. Thanks for nothing guys! Indicative of a manger that quit on a team so glad that asshat is gone.
  6. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 03:18 PM) Hello gang, as you may, or may not, know... This year marks the 10th anniversary of Soxtalk.com. Over the 10 years much has changed in the world, as has this site. What we are curious about is what YOU think of Soxtalk. What are the things you love about it, hate about it, and what would you change going forward? We are hoping to get some discussion and see what direction people want this place to move in. The one thing we'd like to avoid here is rants about specific people. If something is bugging you that much about a person, you can always direct it at the admin or mod of your choice. Other than that, please feel free to let us know what you think. Catch all threads suck! Carry on.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Apr 18, 2012 -> 12:37 PM) It has nothing to do with being nice. It is all about finding out who is going to be their players going forward. You don't know that in ten games. Morel is not a 2 hitter going forward. Put him at 8 or 9 and go from there.
  8. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ Apr 17, 2012 -> 11:13 PM) I'm looking for a word that means soft x100 Missed the first two periods and did not know about Hossa until overtime but did realize he was out. The Hawks looked soft the entire time I watched. They are struggling greatly to clear the zone. Torres should be done for the playoffs but will most likely get 4 games.
  9. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 17, 2012 -> 03:03 PM) Caufield is right. The 2005 WS is an eternity ago. Amazing. Kids that were not yet born are now in second grade. My second grader was alive and well for the World Series even celebrated a couple of birthdays prior to the Sox winning it all.
  10. Off the top of my head didn't thorton get roughed up by them as well? Brian Roberts seemed to own Jenks.
  11. So the second round of the west could really be seeds 5-8.
  12. He looks like he is playing 16" softball out there with his approach. Hits the ball wherever he wants.
  13. Calls do not get much worse than the goalie interference call right there.
  14. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Apr 13, 2012 -> 12:17 AM) Sharp was absolutely awful all game. Hossa didn't do a whole lot either. Sometimes this team plays with their head so far up their ass and make some terrible decisions. Win more faceoffs, clear the zone and go get 'em in game 2. Dead on What is the deal with hayes he would look good as a late line option to me. The bad play by nick in the second to not let Crawford kill the play was huge.
  15. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 13, 2012 -> 07:59 AM) A 29 year old, 2nd year arb-eligible IF with a career .722 OPS. I second 2k5's statement. Bet the cubs get into that......if you want to rebuild crain and thorton for trout. Angels pen is a wreck.
  16. You can still get opening day tickets by ordering a 7 game pack. These will most likely be released after 10 AM tomorrow.
  17. QUOTE (balfanman @ Apr 12, 2012 -> 09:44 AM) Wow, I definitely have lost any respect for Fox Sports after this. I may be bias, but how could the Sox lose 4 spots in the rankings after a series in Texas where they played the defending champs that tough? http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/powerRankings Behind Cleveland and the Royals by that much and only 2 spots ahead of the Cubs is a little ridicules in my book. I don't expect them to be ranked in the top 10, but come on. It is cool in the media to hate on the White Sox. There is no magic player that they can hop on the bandwagon of or side show antics so the media will just over look them. Media today is horses*** there is no time or effort put into anything, simply speak to Phil Rogers and call it a day if you are outside of Chicago and Phil Rogers is a f***ing idiot.
  18. Squad is looking good. Would have liked to see Nate Jones get in there today.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 11, 2012 -> 01:32 PM) What's ridiculous about it is you said he can't go more than 6 innings. You said that today, not in 2007. You're just wrong. Ok I was wrong he has in his career gone longer than 6 innings in a game Last year he almost averaged pitching 6 and a third innings a game. Can I use the last two games to show that he is not a 6 inning pitcher or is this sample size too small? Sorry for being ridiculous.
  20. QUOTE (Reddy @ Apr 11, 2012 -> 01:30 PM) that's absurd. you can't take his first couple years and say they have ANY bearing on what he'll do for the REST of his career. You use the last 3 years as a basis for comparison. lol Ok then I am wrong, I thought you looked at a career and that is what I meant and the nI said he improved over time soI was wrong usea Loogy as a Loogy and that is it, please
  21. Crain and then Jones would have been a better 7th and 8th approach.
  22. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 11, 2012 -> 01:17 PM) In 2009 he went at least 7 innings 12 times. In 2010 he went at least 7 innings 18 times. In 2011 he went at least 7 innings 11 times. Facts are killing your ridiculous posts. For his career he has pitched 923.2 innings and started all 151 games he has appeared in for an average of 6.11 innings per start what was is ridiculous about this. Over the last three years that has improved but that is what it is for his career.
  23. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Apr 11, 2012 -> 01:14 PM) Ohman gets used properly and does his job. He may come back out for the 7th to turn Martinez around and face Hafner.
  24. Ohman hadn't pitched the whole would have been nice to have him start the inning.
  25. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 11, 2012 -> 12:55 PM) He can't go longer than 6 innings, yet he averages over 6 innings a start for his career. Nice try. Sorry he can no go longer than 6.1139 innings per start. For his career on average three times a year he goes 7 innings, my bad. I like him and am glad they signed him and he has gotten better over the years, is consistent and stays healthy and was a good resign.
