Sox @ Indians 7/22/11 Gamethread
Harry Chappas replied to whitesoxbrian's topic in 2011 Season in Review
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 22, 2011 -> 07:35 PM) Hey I tuned in and there are runners on base. I assume I'll get to see them stranded? if so that would be 6 through 3 innings. At least they are not GIDP -

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 22, 2011 -> 07:31 PM) lol@'lexi. My goodness this offense. They really look like they do not even want to be out there. Put Rios and Dunn on the DL -

It is really sad where this team would be if the had a plan at the plate -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 20, 2011 -> 09:53 PM) A few too many pitches for Sale it seemed. If this was the typical Sox at KC extra inning game, Butler will single up the middle here. Sounds about right or a dribble to score the run -

Sadly there is nothing they can do with the offense as there is the never ending question of where will they play. Other than third where there is no trade market. Rios and Dunn are going nowhere. -

The White Sox never have a huge advantage when two of the worst hitters in baseball occupy the middle of the lineup. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 04:29 PM) For those at the event, was I the only one who thought people were going to act very stupid if CM Punk lost? I'm not talking about full-scale riots....but it was definitely an intense atmosphere. I agree. It was very intense to say the least. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 03:01 PM) Baltimore is it. It is your honor kind sir. I did not know the history of the Orioles. I guess I just thought the Browns became the Cardinals some time in 30's and that was that. You learn something new every day.

athletics? Philly, KC and now oakland.

That was a cool event to be at. I am not that into wrestling but my kids (10 & 7) are. The crowd was insane. The lines and parking at that joint suck BTW. The Punk Cena match was epic but the ending was kind of lame I thought. The MITB matches were really good as well. I think the Miz winning would have been good. Chciago loves the Santino (sp?) but s*** all over Rey Mysterio. I thought that was odd. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 16, 2011 -> 03:36 PM) You don't know that at all. It's hard to imagine that De Aza could play any worse and give us less productive at bats than Rios has. Plain and simple, there's no time left to sit around hoping for him to show signs of life for the first time in a year. I agree he is giving the Sox nothing Rios has scored two less runs than Konerko...I found that odd. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 03:08 PM) That didn't take long to change David Schuster Patrick Kane will be out 6-8 weeks after breaking his wrist...supposedly during off season training. Did he trip over the dog or the gymbag?

QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 09:52 AM) Over/under on number of hits off of Verlander has been set to 5. I would go with 3 myself. The Tigers will score more runs than the Sox will have base runners and I would not be surprised if the Tigers score less than 5 runs. Hey the Twins are only 6 back. Another season where the White Sox single handidly give them the Central division crown.....unless they give it to the Tigers first. -
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 01:36 PM) That's a weird package. A mediocre starter, leftfielder at the end of his career who we want to run out of town who really doesn't bring much to the table, and just another guy in the bullpen. What do you expect back? Not to mention Jackson and Pierre make good money. I have a gut feeling we'll keep Jackson. Who knows if we can dump Rios, Pierre and Dunn. Highly doubtful. They fit needs that playoff teams want filled with veterans as oppossed to young kids they may be using at this time. Salaries do not mean much if there is playoff run at stake. There is no team taking Dunn or Rios unless the white sox are eating salary which they won't.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 11:59 AM) Larry Bird said that professional athletes (at least in the NBA) tune out their coach after 3 years. I think NBA players tune their coach out after a year if not sooner unless they are elite. Thibs will be interesting to see -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 08:09 AM) Not to mention the market for starting pitching is supposed to be pretty bad this year. Exactly Some GM will get nervous and overspend as there are plenty of teams in the race, especially in the NL. You package Jackson, Pierre and Bruney and you can get a nice deal.

The official "end of Ozzie soon?" thread
Harry Chappas replied to whitesoxbrian's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Ozzie used to get the most out of his players, he no longer is. I am not sure why this is the case but it is. He is a terrible in game manager and as such, he no longer has value ot the organization. By the way, Don Cooper does not have a contract for next year. He way want to test the market as well. Think Larry Rothschild and the cubs. -

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 03:04 PM) don't you get the sense that even he, the ultimate company man, has had enough? I think he is sensing that a golden opportunity is slipping away The thing is there are so many holes on the offense where do you begin Rios, Beckham, Dunn and Morel all add nothing offensively at this point -
