If this move is made for Thome its a disaster. If its to overpay 1-1 its bad. My hope with their recently developed ability with MiLB hitting is they can develop a pipeline. Also once negotiating began things opened up that will allow the pick to be worth it as dollars became clear. Is Roch going underslot....is there a MLB contract in the talk with him already?? I'm not up on the MLB draft enough to know the moving pieces. Choosing Acuna over Gonzalez mystified me.

OK, there are three better options than Acuna beside Colson.

Stuffing Gonzalez on the bench and then Colson and Vargas playing out of position to get Acuna at bats is certainly a decision.

Team was overcoming some of Veneable's shortcomings but they seem to be coming home to roost. His lineup construction this series was awful. Not sure if it is all his fault as Junior and Acuna are what they are. Sticking with Romo is certainly an odd organizational decision as well.

Was the draft day trade for Byram a good one? Seems to range from meh or awful. I am a hockey idiot but when Bedard was drafted I was not overly impressed for a 1-1 especially with his size. Although I kind of felt the same with Kane and was wrong there. Is he worth the deal he will be seeking / getting. For all of the tanking and prospect hype, I am still not seeing anything here to excite me but again, I am not very hockey smart.

Started with yesterday's lineup and carried into today. Starting pitching sucking amplified it.
