QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Sep 29, 2010 -> 10:20 AM) Can I ask a question of ignorance here? What percentage of game attendees use the L or city buses? The driving to the lakefront is a pain in the ass and parking would be limited that is why where they are at is the best scenario access from all major highways leads there.

Watched Eastbound & Down and SOA last night. Thought both were pretty good. SOA was getting tedious and soap operaish with Gemma's dad. I hope they pick it up a little here as the whole adding in unnecessary twists like the medication thing was pointless. The Jimmy line looks to be going good but the whole frustration over finding Abel is getting old quick. Resolving the Gemma thing will be good as well.

I have enjoyed simply watching the White Sox stressfree for the last week as they close out the summer and baseball season. Last night was a great game. I understand losing to get a higher pick but I only back that theory if you are in a lottery opportuntiy or in the top 5 to 7 picks. Losing games to go from 17 to 15 is a losers mentality. Also I wonder if Guillen hits Dayan for Kotsay in that same situation in a meaningful game. It was a great ending.

QUOTE (J.Reedfan8 @ Sep 28, 2010 -> 03:24 PM) It is more bulls*** that Barker wasn't on it (he was traded much earlier) more-so than Johnsson who barely played. Nick Leddy is the only one who is not making that trade look awful thankfully. Feel bad for Cam. I'm also glad to see the guy who built the team (and should get more recognition) get what he deserves in Dale Tallon. I thought the fact hat I couldn't remember his name was indication enough that I was not serious..

Official 2010-11 NFL Thread
Harry Chappas replied to knightni's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
On the SCORE this mornign they were talking about how the Bears kept Harris over Alex Brown because they felt Brown would be a rabble rouser when it came to the players union....ya that is good move. The Bears need to just realize that Tommie Harris is not good anymore and be done with it. Haynesworth is a headcase but at least he still may have talent. Harris is just injured and bad. -
QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Sep 28, 2010 -> 12:48 PM) The cat they traded Cam Barker for did not make it...that's BS.

Official 2010-11 NFL Thread

In the first half there were at least three holding calls that were not made. The clothesline on Peppers was one of them. The Packers are not going to get te benfit of the doubt and as was pointed out is part of how they play. Melton's roughing was a joke call. -
Konerko to address free agency before TH game
Harry Chappas replied to fathom's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Maybe he told them he would come back only if Guillen was back.........I see no reason to address the media if he intends on testing the market which we all know means leaving. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 27, 2010 -> 05:06 PM) You have to wonder how low the TV ratings will be tonight for the Sox game? Easily lower than the game the Sox played on the night the Hawks won the Stanley Cup. I wonder how many no shows there will be. -

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Sep 24, 2010 -> 03:14 PM) If that Jim Belushi/Jerry O'Connell show is a hit, then we can officially say that Hell has frozen over and the world is ending. According to Jim was on for like 7 years or something like that and once Courtney Thorne whatever and Brad Paisley's wife were no longer easy on the eyes the show went downhill from there. Same thing with George Lopez.

QUOTE (ChWRoCk2 @ Sep 24, 2010 -> 01:06 PM) I don't think I have ever been disappointed by a Big Bang episode, they continue to produce solid episodes. It really is a great show. Also going back to the SOA locale thing. Didn't it say in the show where they were as soon as Cam knocked on the door? I always knew he was there and the other things were leading the Sons to that place.

Am I revising history but wasn't it common knowledge that Guillen wanted the roving DH and KW wanted Thome because the price was right but he allowed Guillen to stick to his guns. I never saw KW talk about the roving DH and liking it. Guillen wanted Kotsay he made that known, to fill that roll, thus taking Kotsay over Thome. Cowley is just trying to get himself through the season.

QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 23, 2010 -> 08:27 AM) Really, we're taking serious digs at Cooper now? If LaRussa comes here, Dave Duncan will retire.

QUOTE (The Baconator @ Sep 23, 2010 -> 09:34 AM) If this talk of how big his ego is true, this may actually be part of his plan With the new ballpark opening up in a couple years, the Marlins are looking to be a revitalized franchise. I can see Ozzie wanting to be the center of attention and the cornerstone of that new image in Florida. He brings a lot of attention to himself and whichever club he is with, and the addition of an awesome ballpark will (hopefully) bring new energy to the fans, positioning him as a beloved figure. Loria, the Marlins owner has an ego the dwarfs anything the White Sox have to offer. He ran Girardi out of town why would he want Guillen. Managers do not sell tickets.

I got into SOA early last season and wow can I get lost some times. Never knew there was as deep an Irish connection there. The Cleaner was as creepy as they get.
-
The cubs need to thinking about Quade as the guy right now as he is doing a nice job....what about Girardi to the Sox??????
-
Shall we talk about beer showers or are those acceptable?
-
Remember when Guillen told his team to go get drunk in KC after Koch blew a save.
-
So is this thread now about drinking or getting a DUI just so I know.....

QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 07:47 PM) That's the nature of baseball, I'm afraid. Seemingly the Sox are moreso. Explain how Floyd could have an ERA of 7 for two months and be unhittable for the next two. -

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 07:39 PM) Fans are going to boo the Sox like crazy if Beckham cannot drive runs in. Ozzie, please give Morel or Viciedo a chance at third. I really think nobody cares and are just happy they were entertining until mid-August. Maybe there will be a little more focus in the spring other than having a Camp Lovie atmosphere. -

I wish they would focus on players that are consistent. Not .400 one month and .100 the next.
