  1. I was talking to my brother about this stuff, and apparently his best score was 109 wph, but that was with Mavis Becon back in school.
  2. lets see, thebaseballcube lists him as a switch hitter... http://www.thebaseballcube.com/players/B/j...bourgeois.shtml The original article in this thread listed him as a switch hitter. But milb.com lists him as a right only. Perhaps he has given up on switch hitting?
  3. are some of you guys joking? I barely can get 300 character per minute...
  4. QUOTE(Calderon @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 10:10 AM) Right-handed. how sure of that are you?
  5. QUOTE(NCsoxfan @ Nov 30, 2007 -> 03:55 PM) Lets not get carried away with Bay. His numbers have declined as follows Avg: from 306 to 286 to 247 the last three years SB: from 21 to 11 to 4 (not good when a guy's speed diminishes that much) Walks: from 95 to 102 to 59 HR's and RBI's - down too Need I go on? He turns 30 next year. He would be a big upgrade over our current disaster in LF, but there is NO way he is worth a package of top prospects. Am I missing something here? Um, Bay was on a horrible pirates team and his only protection was Andy Laroche...
  6. Fields is already a better power hitter then Bay, IMO. But is the better overall hitter by far.
  7. I have a question... is he a righty or a switch hitter? I've seen sites contradicting each other.
  8. obviously that squirrel has finally gotten to me head.
  9. well, we'd still need a leadoff hitter who could play CF... Unless we feel Richar could leadoff. Do I dare say it? Corey Patterson... Hey, with a middle of the order of Cabrera/Thome/Konerko/Dye, I don't care who leads off.
  10. If we could do the above mentioned trade, and then sign Fukodome... 1. Fukodome, CF 2. Cabrera, SS 3. Cabrera, LF 4. Thome, DH 5. Konerko, 1B 6. Dye, RF 7. Pierzynski, C 8. Crede, 3B 9. Richar, 2B Buehrle, Vazquez, Contreras, Floyd/Egbert/Broadway NICE! Even though that rotation sucks, that's a hell of a lineup.
  11. Garza is a much a better prospect then McCarthy was last year. It's not even close. Guy who throw in the low 90's and doesn't have any real outstanding pitch, or a guy who can hit 95+ and has a better curve... yeah, that's a toughie. The only advantage McCarthy has over Garza is that he actually has more then 2 pitches.
  12. so, is that thing that looks like netting actually a glass/see through roof with an opening in the back? I'm still pissed they changed their name though. New logo/uniforms was a good idea and so is the stadium, but any team named the Rays is just so f***ing gay.
  13. it'd make to much sense to get Barton... even if he was available for us to pick.
  14. wow, it does look real nice. I still don't like the netting on top though.
  15. QUOTE(DBAH0 @ Nov 29, 2007 -> 03:54 PM) Basically the Twins probably got the best player in the deal with Young, but the Rays got the next 3 best players in the deal. So I think it's a win for Tampa. Kazmir, Garza and Shields is a nice 3'some at the top of the rotation, with the potential to improve. And that infield at the moment would be one of the better ones in baseball (if Pena can repeat his performance from 2007). I think Kazmir could be eventually moved to the pen and become their closer. They also still have Edwin Jackson, and I am still a fan of his. Perhaps he would benefit from moving to the pen first. Also, they have Neimann who will likely start for them this season as well. The future is looking bright in Tampa Bay...
  16. seriously, why did we not put Hernandez on the 40 but keep players such as Andy Gonzalez and add players like Cole Armstrong... just baffling to me. Even if he doesn't have great stuff, he has produced.
  17. lol, I had no idea what I was thinking... I meant the Astros... just forget that whole post.
  18. Are the Cards thinking about shopping Anthony Reyes?
  19. oh thank god, I just saw Cintron got released! This is like an early Christmas present to me...
  20. okay, forget about the Rays now... what other team could use an overpriced, overweight, and horrible hitting SS?
  21. I think all these Santana trade rumors are BS. My prediction, he re-signs with Minnesota. They free up salary by trading Nathan for prospect, and with the acquisition of Young, they can afford to lose one of Mauer or Morneau.
  22. this has the making of another long season, especially if one of Owens or Anderson are a fulltime starter.
