The only time having a "true" ace or no. 1 matters is when it is opening day, you need a win, or in the playoffs. Otherwise, as the season goes on, the true order of the rotation really doesn't matter.

Gio is awful... a walk!??!?!?!?! Puh-lease. And people call him a prospect?

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ May 24, 2007 -> 09:26 AM) What an incredible episode. The big detail that blew my mind was Jack referring to his dad like he was still alive. I wonder if that was just a drunken slipup, or if that was a big tip to the future? I know I wasn't the only one hoping Jack killed Ben after Ben told Tom to kill the 3 hostages. I was really surprised that he didn't, because what leverage did Ben have to stay alive? The hostages were dead, Ben had no way left of contacting the outside world, or anyway to get anyone off of the Island. I was shocked they let him live. The scene with Kate at the end was incredible. I think everyone's jaw dropped when it was her, and not the Ex who came walking up. But with Kate, how is she not in jail? If she got rescued, shouldn't she still have had those pesky murders hanging over her head? I still want to know who the funeral was for. I guess there are a few possibilities if you think about it. The most convincing to me is Ben. After that I would guess Locke, because he kept trying to make sure they couldn't get off of the Island. Regarding Jack refering to his Dad, he said he was upstairs, in a way kind of saying he was in heaven... That, plus he was drunk and on painkiller, made me think his dad is still dead.

QUOTE(SoxFan101 @ May 23, 2007 -> 07:04 PM) I stand by what I said, the one guy judging him on 2-3 articles which is dumb beyond belief. Obviously now that he threatened to kill his wife and her kids it changes things. In a lot of cases though, the media tries to make good people seem bad, and people that judge someone strictly by the media Just admit... I was right!

very nice! got it up right now!

QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 23, 2007 -> 11:17 PM) It shouldn't be much of a surprise...Gaudin pitched well plus he's a lefty. I wouldn't exactly write the offense off though, its been making some great strides fundementally (and the results have shown, sans today). Garland really battled tonight and probably shouldn't have been out there in the 7th. He's really proving that he can go 6/7 and keep the squad in the game even when he is truly off his game (the guy has been stellar for the club all season). Gaudin is a righty... You weren't watching the game from your miror again, were you? My bad. I was looking online and saw him down as a lefty (I only saw the last inning Jon pitched and was doing work at that point in time as well so I can't say I was paying attention). And that would be because I'm confusing Gaudin with Chacin (so nevermind).

QUOTE(RibbieRubarb @ May 23, 2007 -> 10:53 PM) SPOILER!!!!! Why did Charlie die??? Couldn't he have walked out the door and closed it behind him? ...and WTF?!? Is Mikhail the friggin Terminator?!? I think Charlie closed the door so nothing would change. It had to be done that way. And I think Mikael can't die like how Richard doesn't age. WHOA! With this post, I have exactly 1,647 posts on both TalkBears and here, which makes up of a total of 3294! Talk about a lost moment

QUOTE(3E8 @ May 23, 2007 -> 10:50 PM) Guys......................WALT! That was likely the black ghost monster thing, which I think is actually Jacob.

QUOTE(Heads22 @ May 23, 2007 -> 10:33 PM) I would like to start getting into some lifting here at home on the basic set we have, just to stay a little active. What's good for a 19 year old who is 5'10" and weighs (as of two days ago) 131.5? I don't think working out is good for skelators...

Marshall really coming back to bite us. Why didn't we add him to the 40 to go along with Casto a few years back?

QUOTE(Brian @ May 23, 2007 -> 10:18 PM) Gaudin is actually good. Look at his numbers. Not totally unacceptable. Let's see Gaudin's numbers come July... I am not sold on him. I haven't been impressed at all by his stuff.

Some clues that this was the future or present, or whatever, Jack was using a Moto-Razr, which weren't out before 04. And as to who's funeral it was, it was probably Ben's now that I think about it. Locke probably stayed on the Island, and Kate made a reference to Sawyer by saying when she met Jack "He'll probably be wondering where I am."
-
My theory is that the call for the rescue was the flashback in this episode, and what we thought was the flashback was the present. Also, I think Jack asking for his Father was mainly drunk talk, and that state of depression he was in. Anyone have any theories on who's funeral it was? I think Ben or Locke, but it could be Sawyer.

Gaudin shuting out this team TWICE is completely unacceptable...

Looks like that offensive outburst from the past 3 days were just a mirage... Hey, at least Lost was on. I tivo-watch between comercials...

It shocks me that someone like this plays baseball. Usually people like him play football or basketball.

QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ May 23, 2007 -> 05:08 PM) I've read about him occasionally. His older brother Brett is a year younger than me and attended the same grammar and junior high school. Never heard anything regarding Tyler's intention to enter the draft. Considering what he and his family have gone through these last several years, it'd be nice if he were selected within the first five rounds. His brother died, right? I've been hearing his more of a 15-25 round pick.

Wonder if KW will make a pitch for Percival...

QUOTE(elrockinMT @ May 23, 2007 -> 03:19 PM) McDouglas is the one that has me worried. I wonder if he has arm problem or head problems, but he has generally been ineffective recently. he does have a history of arm trouble. We need to be seriously looking at bullpen options. McDouglas? -
QUOTE(fathom @ May 23, 2007 -> 11:25 AM) Game...set...match...on the Dukes argument http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/news/story?id=2880144 Damn... scary. Like I said, not even his family is safe from him. Oh, and he even threatened the little kids to. WTF?
-
Michael Burgess -> Championship player Anyone have any info on the local Marist player, Tyler Newsome? I hear he is going to enter the draft after all, and turn down a full ride to Michigan St.

http://web.minorleaguebaseball.com/news/ar...b&fext=.jsp This article says he can consistently hit 91-94, and sometimes take it up a notch, with a sink on it. Also, he has a slurve and working on a changeup. Wow, we might have gotten a real steal here. He is only 21, and his only problem so far is his command. But what impresses me the most, is that he has been putting up these numbers as basically a two pitch pitcher.
-
anyone have any updates on how Honel's velocity has been?
-
Vazquez needs to bring that ERA down!
-
If the pitching continues to deal, and if the offense is here to stay, the league better watch out. But lets hope the Bullpen breaks out of this funk.
