May I toss another log on the Ozzie fire. If you compare team photos from 2005 and 2007 you will probably notice some new faces. We do know that Ozzie could manage that 2005 team to a WS win. We don't know if he can manage the 2007 team to anything. It's the whole package. A manager might be great with one group of players and God awful with another. And they may be wearing the same color uniforms. So for the love of exploding scoreboards, drop the '05 comparisons.

I agree with almost every thing you wrote. I do believe that many, many people are comforted to know that others are praying for them, keeping them in their thoughts, sending Karma their way, or whatever you want to call it. Shouldering the anguish alone is about the most difficult thing I could imagine. I would take comfort, and have during trying times, in knowing that others are there and doing whatever little they can. People try to help in different ways. The attention grabbing, over the top, stuff seems lame to me.

The image from Mark's no no that I will remember isn't from the 9th, but as he came off the field in the 1st. That smile of relief was what makes baseball fun. I can't think of anyone in a Sox uniform in my lifetime that seems to have more fun at the ballpark. IIRC Bo also seemed to really enjoy the days when he could play, but nothing like the smiling, tarp sliding, noogie giving, Mark Buerhle.
