  1. That show should be excellent.
  2. How to Place New Employees in the Organization: 1. Put 400 bricks in a closed room. 2. Put your new hires in the room and close the door. 3. Leave them alone and come back after 6 hours. 4. Then analyze the situation: a. If they are counting the bricks, put them in the accounting department. b. If they are recounting them, put them in auditing. c. If they have messed up the whole place with the bricks, put them in engineering. d. If they are arranging the bricks in some strange order, put them in planning. e. If they are throwing the bricks at each other, put them in operations. f. If they are sleeping, put them in security. g. If they have broken the bricks into pieces, put them in information technology. h. If they are sitting idle, put them in human resources. i. If they say they have tried different combinations, they are looking for more, yet not a brick has been moved, put them in sales. j. If they have already left for the day, put them in marketing. k. If they are staring out of the window, put them in strategic planning. l. If they are talking to each other, and not a single brick has been moved, congratulate them and put them in top management. Finally, if they have surrounded themselves with bricks in such a way that they can neither be seen nor heard from, put them in Congress.

QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 10:18 AM) Just because you're not from the South, doesn't mean you can't sing it. Who's more Southern, Limp Bizkit from Jacksonville or Shania Twain from Canada? Southern Rock? Limp Bizkit. Country and Western? Shania Twain. Who has a song closer to Sweet Home Alabama? I agree with what you wrote, I just don't quite hear a southern rock vibe in Eagles. Fill in the blank for me, Sweet Home Alabama, If You Wanna Get to Heaven, Ramblin Man, Free Bird, Green Grass and High Tides, Fire on the Mountain, Midnight Rider, _________________ Life in the Fast Lane? Hotel California? Desperado? BTW, I love the Eagles. Saw* them about a dozen times. Texas grammer y'all

QUOTE(knightni @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 10:05 AM) Skynard, but ZzTop and the Eagles are a close second. Eagles as southern rock? I never would have thought to toss them in that mix. Perhaps Country Rock, espcially the first couple albums, but never southern. I thought there wqas more a California / Detroit mix IIRC.
  5. QUOTE(Al Lopez @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 09:58 AM) Jim said I'm really gonna get ragged on for this. I gotta ask, why are you watching Oprah and why do you even know the rebroadcast schedule? You may have to return your man card. What's on the View today?
  6. Impossible to count out the Yankees or Red Sox. Any talk of one over the other wil be which scenarios are more likely. History would point to the Yankees as they have for most of the past 100 years.
  7. Jenks Heat's analysis is very good, he would be worth that in baseball economics. The question becomes should that be one or two contracts? Teams would prefer two because of the risk of injury and the cost of insurance. The player would prefer one. We know what direction the Sox have taken. I'm afraid we'd be walking out on any talk of six or seven years.

A friend of mine is the Director of MADD here, it's her job to work with the victims and families and be at all the court proceedings. I couldn't do her job. No amount of money could replace the years of my life it would cost.
  16. Might as well line up that All-Star break trade now. This could have a huge playoff race impact. Imagine his arm on the market in July. Someone would really unload their system to win this year

QUOTE(southsider2k5 @ Feb 13, 2007 -> 08:40 AM) He must have been for it, before he was against it. Are we talking in broad terms, or a specific situation? If we are talking in broad terms, then against then for would be valid, as would a consensus opinion based on inaction, background, etc.
  20. QUOTE(SleepyWhiteSox @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 02:52 PM) If I'm a parent, I tell my kid to mind his teacher when appropriate, be respectful, and stand. Didn't realize I'm in the minority on that sentiment. I don't think we are the minority.

QUOTE(Balta1701 @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 07:45 PM) So, if for example, a governor from some random large southern state were to declare during the Presidential campaign that he was in favor of regulating CO2 emissions from power plants, quite directly and specifically, even going so far as to put out specific proposals for the policy and having his underlings refer to it, despite having taken no steps at all to regulate virtually anything while he was governor, and then 2 months after taking office flip-flops and declares that he is not in favor of regulating CO2 emissions from power plants, wouldn't that satisfy your criteria exactly? (Yeah i know I belongs on the other side. I just couldn't resist on this one.) No, but if he actually did what he said he would do, it would. So if we rewrote that to read So, if for example, a governor from some random large southern state were to declare during the Presidential campaign that he was in favor of regulating CO2 emissions from power plants, quite directly and specifically, even going so far as to put out specific proposals for the policy and having his underlings refer to it, despite having taken no steps at all to regulate virtually anything while he was governor, and then 2 months after taking office pushes for regulating CO2 emissions from power plants, wouldn't that satisfy your criteria exactly? Yes it would. And it speaks to character and believability.
  22. QUOTE(santo=dorf @ Feb 12, 2007 -> 05:48 PM) Yep, therefore it wasn't covered in my insurance, and I would need comprehensive insurance to pay for it anyways. However, if I had a homeowner's or renter's insurance, they would cover the aftermarket product. My sister's deductible for her homeowner insurance is the same as my car ($1000,) so I didn't file a claim. I didn't look around too much for the best price, but through the internet I had someone come to my work and fix it in about 45 minutes for just under $200. This sucks. I guess it's actually pretty common out here for this kind of crap. I was hoping to be wrong. At one time, you could write off the loss on your taxes. I'm not certain if that is still the case.
  23. I thought a speaker, like a PA speaker fell on her or something. But this . . .??

We see so many messages about don't drink and drive, but riding is equally bad. My heart goes out toi the families and friends. That woman who was drunk will now spend her adult life behind bars, probably never have children, be haunted by the victims she killed. And it probably isn't enough punishment.
