  1. QUOTE(The Critic @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 11:35 AM) But HONESTLY big. Nah, you know those guys on the A's. They've been juicing since Canseco
  2. QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 03:52 PM) This is stupid. Who cares where he was? The point is he called for it. It probably doesn't matter, but it damn sure is funny. How stupid can he be? There is something about losing a Presidential race that turns these guys brains to mush.

    Kap and any Texas GOP, what do you think of Perry's new TV ads? For some reason, probably meeting him three times and a Scouting connection, I like the guy and so far have not found a better candidate.

    QUOTE(kapkomet @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 03:49 PM) LMAO. STOP IT! You're killing me. Actually let's look at this GOP Gov. Perry: Kap? No Tex? Yes GOP DeLay: Kap No Tex? Yes Damn, I have to leave, Kap gets to stay.
  5. QUOTE(heirdog @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 03:15 PM) Ok. Thanks. Glad you found us See here's a new fan who seems like a nice guy . . .

    QUOTE(FlaSoxxJim @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 03:34 PM) Is he gone?? If so, then I'll go throw another aborted fetus on the fire and light up a big fatty while somebody else reads aloud from the Collected Writings of Karl Marx. Whoaaaaaaaaa, wait a cotton picking second here. Kap, you mean you ain't a Democrat? Well hells bells, you fooled me.
  7. QUOTE(TheHammer @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 02:46 PM) hes saying Frank is a loser and a cancer, btw. Which a few posters here have agreed with. . . :rolly
  8. QUOTE(Cknolls @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 02:13 PM) Asked if the administration was taking Kerry's call for a filibuster seriously, White House press secretary Scott McClellan chuckled on Friday and said: "I think it was a historic day yesterday. It was the first ever call for a filibuster from the slopes of Davos, Switzerland." Once again a neutral country is key to Kerry . . .

    Once a thread is started, it is anyones, and I don't want to pout and say that's not what this thread is about, but I will I was hoping for an area where each side could go to cool out and maybe offer a release point. I enjoy reading most of the GOP views on this forum, so it isn't like I prefer not to read these posts, but it is nice to share with intelligent, compassionate, courteous, cheerful, beautiful, like minded people instead of GOPerheads.
  10. I've always believe that both teams had about the same base of knowledgable fans, and that the Cubs got 75% of the casual fan and 90% of the "out of town fan". Now is the chance to take the town from the Cubs and some Sox fans are trying to chase away the casual fan. We should differentiate the casual fan who attends a couple games a summer, from a true bandwagon jumper who tries to act like he's been a fan forever, those guys annoy me. The guys who try and quote Sox history, wrap themselves up in Sox swag. Those guys I have no time for. But Bernie and Betty from Schaumburg who decide to take their kids to visit The Cell this summer for their once a year MLB game, instead of Wrigley, I salute and welcome.
  11. It is interesting that people who found inspiration in this guys story, when they believed it to be true, suddenly have lost that inspiration whe they learned it was fiction. I guess when someone publishes a book that becomes a "self help, here's how I saved myself", people want the guy to actually have suffered. How about a "that is great, you didn't spend all that time in jail".
  12. QUOTE(YASNY @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 05:16 AM) So, we should give California, Texas, New Mexico and Arizona back to Mexico? Texas was an Independent Country
  13. Suddenly I started singing . . . Muskrat, muskrat candlelight Doin’ the town and doin’ it right In the evenin’ It’s pretty pleasin’ Muskrat susie, muskrat sam Do the jitterbug out in muskrat land And they shimmy And sammy’s so skinny And they whirled and they twirled and they tangoed Singin’ and jingin’ the jango Floatin’ like the heavens above It looks like muskrat love Nibbling on bacon, chewin’ on cheese Sammy says to susie honey, would you please be my missus? And she say yes With her kisses And now he’s ticklin’ her fancy Rubbin’ her toes Muzzle to muzzle, now anything goes As they wriggle, and sue starts to giggle And they whirled and they twirled and they tangoed Singin’ and jingin’ the jango Floatin’ like the heavens above It looks like muskrat love La da da da da ...
  14. QUOTE(False Alarm @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 09:44 AM) "my friend leonard." it's about a friend he made in jail. he was in jail for, like, half an hour. LMAO I'm really starting to like this guy.
  15. QUOTE(CanOfCorn @ Jan 26, 2006 -> 12:08 PM) Also, Austin drivers...maybe it's just like this in Texas, but I have NEVER seen such horrible drivers in my whole life...and I learned how to drive in Chicago, around Devon, if you know what I'm sayin'! Come on down about 200 miles south. Austin is a dream compared to the border. Driving norms are a bit different all over the US and Mexico. So we put winter Texans and Mexican together and watch the fun. Biggest difference. In Mexico, if you are merging onto a busier road, you are expected to stop on the ramp and wait for an opening. In the US, it's hit the gas and make an opening. Imagine the fun of drivers mixing and matching those techniques. There are so many accidents on both sides of the border because of the different norms.
  16. QUOTE(LosMediasBlancas @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 09:37 AM) I'm neutral toward Oprah, but I think it's funny how all the haters are jumping all over her about this. When you read a book that is non fiction, do you assume everything in it is true or do you question it? I'm not familiar with her whole Book Club thing. Does she have a responsibility to verify facts? She kept defending him against the critics. She even went on Larry King and defended the guy. It would embarass anyone to stick your neck out and your reputation, only to find out you'e been conned and you helped sell the con to millions. Her book club recomendation means an almost guaranteed million selling book. She has become one of the most powerful literary critics around.
  17. When one or two guys leave and take shots at the organization, I figure it's just bitterness, etc. When it's all but a couple, I wonder if the organization has comunication problems, or it's just the nature of the beast.
  18. QUOTE(sox4lifeinPA @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 09:30 AM) Texsox - "Armadillos make better lovers" I'll take your word for it . . .
  19. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 09:21 AM) BTW, im reading his book right now, and its really good. I couldnt give a f*** what oprah says. Oprah loved it, and defended it until the truth was overwhelming that he lied. She was his #1 supporter. Does it bother you that what he presents as the truth, are actually lies? That most of that didn't happen?
  20. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 09:20 AM) Thats what we me and Balta were talking about on the last page of this thread. Sorry, I missed that.
  21. QUOTE(NUKE_CLEVELAND @ Jan 27, 2006 -> 09:16 AM) The armor we currently have consists of a vest which, by itself can stop 9mm rounds and such. When you add the ceramic plates that US soldiers wear now they stop rounds up to and including 7.62 rounds which are fired from AK 47'S and RPK machine guns. I've been hearing that many guys don't like wearing them, that they feel it increases their risk because it makes them less mobile, slower, and encourages head shots.
  22. ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ The first time I had an armadillo pushing his nose at my tent I almost crapped. Then I discovered what a stupid little animal they are. Now I enjoy seeing them rooting around for bugs and actually enjoy seeing them in and around camp. Possums? YUCK. Giant rats. They gross me out, I can't stand to have them around. ANd I am not a city boy by any stretch of the imagination.
  23. So just how does one object to the war while supporting the Troops? It would seem to be that we have two choices Yeah Troops! Go die for whatever reason, we don't care why you are going, but if you are going Or s*** on the war and s*** on the Troops. There has to be a way to show you support the Troops by making damn certain they are fighting for a just cause, that matters. Not to support some shakey poll numbers or get the public's mind off a bj. Conservatives seem to think that as long as the President and Congress thinks soldiers should die, we should agree. Since I elect these people, I feel I have an obligation to let my voice be heard.
  24. Of course he has a web site http://www.mikeiaconelli.com/
  25. I've said before, if Frank was half the leader and club house guy he was on the field, he'd be a shoo in HoF and the Sox would have won a WS before this one. But, I can't remember a time when he didn't give 100% as a player.
