Once a thread is started, it is anyones, and I don't want to pout and say that's not what this thread is about, but I will I was hoping for an area where each side could go to cool out and maybe offer a release point. I enjoy reading most of the GOP views on this forum, so it isn't like I prefer not to read these posts, but it is nice to share with intelligent, compassionate, courteous, cheerful, beautiful, like minded people instead of GOPerheads.

I've always believe that both teams had about the same base of knowledgable fans, and that the Cubs got 75% of the casual fan and 90% of the "out of town fan". Now is the chance to take the town from the Cubs and some Sox fans are trying to chase away the casual fan. We should differentiate the casual fan who attends a couple games a summer, from a true bandwagon jumper who tries to act like he's been a fan forever, those guys annoy me. The guys who try and quote Sox history, wrap themselves up in Sox swag. Those guys I have no time for. But Bernie and Betty from Schaumburg who decide to take their kids to visit The Cell this summer for their once a year MLB game, instead of Wrigley, I salute and welcome.

It is interesting that people who found inspiration in this guys story, when they believed it to be true, suddenly have lost that inspiration whe they learned it was fiction. I guess when someone publishes a book that becomes a "self help, here's how I saved myself", people want the guy to actually have suffered. How about a "that is great, you didn't spend all that time in jail".
